  • Some of you have been asking about the Alfa Romeo 4C so in this video I explain why it's no longer with me and what I exchanged it with. It had to be Italian and it had to be a Maserati. The Quattroporte GTS is becoming a bargain! Just listen to that exhaust and sound this Ferrari built V8 makes. Lets see where this build goes.

    I love the quattroporte, there isn’t that much content of it online. Can you make more videos of this car. Saw one on the road and it sounds amazing. Also would love a POV video. Congrats on the car. Defiantly a good choice.

    Just bought one in mint condition. Sport GT. ZF. 50k miles. Wine red leather. Black paint. Speedo says 200mph. Mental. Full service stamp from Ferrari. Never had so much attention. Very long and difficult to park though. Love the grey alcatara liner.

    I own a 2017 Quattroporte and the bluetooth skipping is a nightmare. There was no fix from the dealer and I currently have not figured out a tried and true method to stop it. If you download the songs to your phone, it will skip less. And if you connect with a cord, it goes crazy.
    I do all my maintenance myself. So far it's been trouble free. I just got a adaptive headlight malfunction. I have 64k miles.
    I do daily drive this along side my i4 and the consumable are relatively low (tires and brakes) I'm averaging 9mpg in California traffic. I'm at about $200usd a week in fuel.
    Unfortunately i'm black on black with black wood. That's the only downside for me. I also drive a Rolls-Royce Phantom and I get more attention (which I wouldn't have expected) in this car. I'm a introvert and if you don't like attention such as me, this isn't your car lol.
    Lastly, here in America, most Maserati dealer has been decoupled from Ferrari or closed down. So I have to drive at least two hours from Santa Barbara to Van Nuys Maserati to pick up parts.

    Just got one myself, best choice I have ever made!
    I think the brown is the best color. It needs black rims and carbon accents, they will transform the way the brown looks.

      Oh yeah! They're great cars but right now I have an issue with mine. It won't start and turned off while driving. Electrics work but will follow up with a vlog on Sunday 🤙

    I think this is a great car. It's special. And they are a bargain for what you get. Basically a rebodied Ferrari California T, at a third to a quarter of the price. Totally different cars at the end of the day, but the value is clearly demonstrated by the comparison. I actually prefer the overall package to the previous generation, which is also a fantastic car, and a great value, as well. Definitely on the large side for a European car, but not such a problem on most roads in the US, the Middle East, and Asia. The previous generation was also a surprisingly long car. I think the new generation is more appealing to older buyers than the previous one. And in Europe, the diesel model sold by the proverbial truck load to executive buyers. Not sure whether I prefer the sound of the new V8 or the V6 petrol, as the V6 sounds very sporty. Even the diesel sounds very good for what it is. Maserati seems to know how to make good sounding cars without the need for aftermarket exhausts. Anyway, yeah, great car, IMHO.

      Thanks for that! Yes I have always loved the way Maseratis sound the best being the naturally aspirated V8 of the previous generation. However the new ones are too similar and lag behind in terms of technology and evolution. I honestly expected more!

    do you think it’s possible to get a newer u-connect from a wrecked 2017+ and install in place? i wonder if the wire harness is the same? if so that would be a quick way to update that infotainment quick

    • @Snowcatsrt
      @Snowcatsrt  Před 3 lety +2

      hard to say. Just recently my GTS is having issues with the transmission controller. I am waiting for a reply from Maserati as it might be a recall thing. Keep in mind how expensive basic parts are. The cars are great to drive and the older generations do have lots of issues. The latter suffer a bit less but they are still a risky buy.

    • @jgtemperton
      @jgtemperton Před 3 lety +2

      go do some homework. Always look at history and cam chain change. Make sure its been well look after and low miles. A lot get ragged and then sold cheap to folk who can't afford the servicing. I've put 1,200 a year aside for MOT and service. Also have bumper to bumper warranty at 400 a year. Expensive. Glorious if you can afford it.

    I bet you could repair most issues on that car a lot cheaper by cross-referencing part numbers and buying Chrysler. While the body and engine are Maserati, the electronics and switchgear are parts-bin.
