The most telling symptom of NPC-jail-itis is the fact that his sprite is the right way round, meaning he was made to be an enemy, unlike a playable Servant whose sprite would be mirrored as an enemy. Made extra obvious by the extremely asymmetrical design of this guy. For example, in the Wandjina fight at the end of the last Summer event, her hair-boomerang is mirrored compared to her talk sprite, so people knew she was made to be playable. If Umisachi-hiko ever becomes playable, it’ll be with a completely new sprite.

@@Tatian4191 Shibata Katsuie, Serizawa Kamo, Tanaka Shinbei, Kukochihiko, Hattori Takeo, Imagawa Yoshimoto, Adult Beni, and Izcalli are still in NPC jail despite not being ghosts, so that hasn't been reliable in years.
