I love this. When it goes on clearance sale at Walmart I buy all I can. My snow blower last year wouldn't stay running and after treating it with this and letting it run it was perfect! I also was given a lawnmower by a neighbor that had not been started in over a year and was sitting in their yucky cellar. After about 100 tries of pulling the cord it finally started. Hooray! But it wouldn't stay running boo! It would start and run for a few seconds and stall. My boyfriend gave up on it and went home. I put in A LOT of mechanic in a bottle (a whole bottle) and shook up the lawnmower to mix it with the gas and pulled and got it started and it would stall and I would do it again. After about 15 minutes of doing this it finally stopped stalling. I let it run for about 25 minutes and I haven't had a problem since. The lawn mower I had before this one had problems as well. My boyfriend replaced the carburetor and worked on it. It was running but it was surging so badly that the neighbors were laughing at me every time I mowed the lawn. A bottle of mechanic in a bottle later and the surging stopped and the neighbors had to find a new source of amusement. My boyfriend who had never heard of mechanic in a bottle before me now uses it as well. There's no disputing the results!

I bought a bottle just to try on 2 machines. i was my Briggs powered pressure washer (just a couple years old), and a Stihl blower (just a year old). Both have only had non-ethanol gas run through them, but both wouldn't fire this spring. I decided to try Mechanic In A Bottle before I took them to the repair shop. It worked! Both are back to running like a champ!

I have used this stuff the past few yrs. and it has worked 100% on my old snowblower,I put it in and leave overnight, the next am it starts right up,2-3 yrs in a row now.I was skeptical but figured it was worth a try as I am not a big fan of working on carbs.

It worked for me in an old 2-cycle tiller that would not start. Some of this in the gas fixed it pretty quickly! It can't fix everything, but when it works it's worth every penny.

Share with you on my experience with the MIB (Mechanic In A Bottle). Put 2 oz into tank of my Troy-Bilt TB22EC trimmer. My carburetor was clogged up so badly, when I pressed the primer ball, it would not spring back by itself. I had to force it back by squeezing on the sides at various spots. I let it sit overnight (12+ hours). I examined the primer ball next day. No change on its behavior. This told me the fuel channel in the carburetor was still clogged. No point to add fuel into the tank at this moment. I then removed the carburetor and soaked it into MIB (I purchase an 8 oz bottle). I removed the primer ball before I soaked the carburetor because I thought it might be deteriorated by the MIB. My latex gloves were hardened when I did the soaking process. One hour later put things back together. The primer ball still behaved the same. Took it apart and soaked it back to MIB. Waited for two more hours. Put it together. This time, the primer ball could spring back by itself and sucked the fuel from the tank. Filled up the tank, sprayed a little Starting Fluid at the air intake. The trimmer was started after a few pulls. Let it run for 20 minutes. Stopped the engine. Started it again the normal way, without problem. Lessen learned: MIB may take a long time to work depending on how bad the carburetor is clogged. I think in some cases it may never work.

Thanks for your video. Sorry it didn't work on your mower. I was griping to my wife last fall (2019) about replacing our mower that had finally sputtered out. It's a hand-me-down and must be at least 12 years old. It sat all winter with old gas.
I stumbled upon MIB at Harbor Freight last month and said, "what the heck. The mower's broken anyway so a cheap fuel additive won't hurt anything." I emptied the fuel tank, fuel line, and float bowl; added 3 oz of MIB and some fresh gas. After 2 or 3 minutes of pulling the starting cord with no luck, I got flustered and started to put it away. Exasperated, I tried one last time and it started right up! White smoke and a little choppy at first, but the engine soon evened out and I was able to finish the lawn.
I can't say that Mechanic In A Bottle is a miracle cure, but it might give me a couple more months to save for a new mower.

I just took a 2007 Yamaha Rhino 660 that has been sitting for two years (in the Arizona heat), drained the tank, put two bottles of that mechanic in a bottle in, and 2 gallons of fresh gas along with a new spark plug.
I was cranked it to get the fluids through the system and after one minute it fired up.
Holy Crap. I had serious doubts about this stuff especially since the rhino was sitting for so long. But it fired up. Ran a little rough and drives fine now.
After watching lawnmower man above I figured I wasted my money. But it worked for me.
I should make a commercial for this stuff!!

I use it on my Coleman 4-cycle generator that sits for long periods of time. I recently found a place that sells no-ethanol gas, but up till then always had to use ethanol gas and of course that would gum things up. Same thing with my 4-cycle single stage aging Craftsman snowblower. MIB has saved me a ton of $$ not having to take the units into the shop, or tearing down the carburetors. Had a recent snowstorm with 6" of heavy snow, and of course the snowblower didn't start. I put MIB into the tank, primed it, let it set for about 2 hours, came back out and BAM it started up after about 20 pulls. Saved the day. I've got about 24 4oz bottles of this stuff that I can use on all my gas cans and individual units (5 generators, 3 snow blowers, weed trimmer, and lawn mower). I'll use this on the lawn mower this summer, because it stopped working too.
Also, it's very important, before wasting my money on MIB, to check the spark plug and fuel lines on the engine to eliminate them as the source of the problem. MIB can't help those problems.

My brother gave me a leaf blower to repair, which I was going to get a rebuild kit for. When I looked into the gas tank the remaining fuel that was left looked like honey and seemed hopeless. I saw an ad for Mechanic in a Bottle and thought, what the heck, give it a try. I followed instructions, waited a day emptied it out and refueled. Second pull, it started right up and I didn't even need to adjust the carb. I give it two thumbs up. It saved me time, money and aggravation.

I couldn't start my lawn mower, it had been barely used for 2 years and wouldn't start in the spring. Changed oil, changed spark plug, changed filter, changed gas, etc nothing worked. Let this stuff sit in the gas tank for 2 hours and it started after 2 pulls. Amazing

Hands down if you drain ALL the gas this product works! Generator that has been sitting for 5+ years started first pull. Mtd walk behind leaf blower sitting for 8 yrs started first pull! I would definitely recommend this product. Follow instructions 🤪

If it is a fuel problem, get a little squirt bottle of fuel and squirt some in carb throat (not too much) . It will crank up and run as long as you keep nursing it with that fuel. If float needle stuck closed, won't let nothing in. Some times can tap on outside of bowl to jar needle loose. Most of time have to drop the bowl and pull down on the float to let the solvent in. If carb has been setting up for years, will be all dry and stuck with rust from ethanol, but it will temporarily crank up with the squirt bottle trick .

it's real simple- if your problem is fuel related... MiB will probably work and you'll be amazed. I have had nothing but success with this product. I use it primarily on motorcycles. I have had a number of people stop by my shop while I was working on my own bike. One guy in particular had a fuel injected bike that 'wouldn't stay running' after he started it. The bike was sitting for over 2 years. I asked him if he drained the old gas and put in fresh gas- He said it was the first thing he tried. He had about 2 gallons of gas in the tank. I added about 6 ounces of MiB. Shook the bike a little bit and then had him try and start the bike. The bike started but quit after a few seconds- I told him to do it again- the bike started quit again, a third time and the bike stayed running a bit longer but stalled... after 2 more starts the engine stayed running. Sounded choppy but as the bike ran- it got better and better. I poured in another gallon of fresh gas and about 4 more ounces of MiB. We let the bike idle for about 10 minutes then I told him to take short ride. Well- he came back and was quite thrilled. Especially after being previously told he was going to need new injectors. MiB won't fix broken or worn rings, won't make ignition coils come to life and won't make your wife your sex slave- but if you got fuel issue- give MiB a try.

You gotta drain the stuff out of the carburetor before you try starting it, the engine want run on straight mechanic in a bottle stuff. You have to drain it and get gas into the carburetor. You also need to completely fill the fuel tank with gas to dilute it since you didn’t pour it out of the fuel tank

Sorry you couldn't make MIB work for you.
I've used MIB several times with success. I bought a 1952 Super M Farmall at an auction this summer. It ran well at 1st the little I drove it around my farm. Then I hooked my stalk chopper mower to it and started mowing CRP acres with it. After a few rounds, the Super M started acting up. The only way I could get it back up the hill to the house was to pull the choke all the way out (an indication that it's not getting enough fuel). My Brother, who was an auto mechanic at a Ford dealership for 14 years, recommended MIB. I bought a couple of 8 ounce bottles and poured them into the fuel tank. I had to run the Super M with the choke all the way out for a few rounds but after that it just kept running better and better. When you buy a tractor that was made that many years ago it could have been sitting unused for hard telling how long but it seems to have worked in the Super M.
I bought a non-running Cub Cadet 1000 series lawn tractor about a month ago at another auction. After treating it with MIB, it keeps running better all the time.
I bought a non-running Honda Goldwing at an auction on September 28th. The seller said that 2 of the carburetors were plugged and not working because they were plugged with old gas. He hadn't started the motorcycle for ages. Again, my Brother thought I should try MIB first before I disassembled the carburetors. Had some time to work on it yesterday, finally! Watch the video, judge for yourself. czcams.com/users/shortsRVXbybgFqQQ?si=Xdq5BL2RP-uM_h_K
All I did was pour an 8 ounce bottle of Mechanic In A Bottle in the tank with the old fuel, which I was told was airplane fuel, put a new battery and use starting fluid to start it. Didn't let it sit for 4 hours but we had run the engine for more than 1/2 an hour when I shot the video. Probably will run better today after it sat overnight. 👍

Had two weedeaters and blower plus my mower my my brothers mower and my brother in laws mower. None would start, needle valve sticking. Used mechanic in a bottle on all of them. Everyone started and ran fine, great product. Best if you mix about half a bottle in a tank of gas, once started run engine until tank is empty. May need to sguirt a little gas in spark plug hole to get it running. If you put a once or two in your gas in the spring and midway through the summer I don't think you will have carb problems ever. I wouldn't let it sit in the mower for a long period of time because anything that cleans this good could damage rubber parts.

I had half a 4oz bottle left over from last year and added it to about 12oz of fresh gas that was in my snowblower that wouldn't start; this was yesterday. I thought either this doesn't work and I have to pay $150 to a small engine shop or MAYBE it works and all is good. Today the snowblower sputtered after the 2nd pull. Some tinkering and about 5 minutes later and it was running, not well but it was running. Slowly upped the throttle and worked through some more sputtering and surges... start to finish it took me maybe 15 minutes and the machine was running smooth again and now fires up in the cold. Could have been a fluke but I'm making it part of regular maintenance now.

You can only pull several times, at some point the spark plugs will be flooded. I would remove the spark plug, clean it with a rug. There are other methods. If badly oxidized, black and shiny, I would try remove oxide with toothpick (soft wood, to prevent scratching spark plug). The good test of this bottle/liquid would be test cleaning the plugged carburetor on a bench, so you see its effectiveness/or not.

Next morning add full tank gas, loosen bowl nut to drain mechanic in bottle till u see gas entered carb, cause it won't run on mechanic in bottle. Tighten bowl nut & go with regular starting procedure.. or I would go the fastest route, take carb off and clean it so I can use mower same day 👍

If it doesn’t work you can always clean the carburetor yourself. There are CZcams videos that show you how. That’s how I learned. Give yourself one hour and the price of cleaning fluid. Otherwise you’ll be taking it to a repair shop for a week and paying someone $150 which for most people is about half the price of a new lawnmower.
Also be careful how much you prime the engine. Too much will flood it and foul the spark plug.

I agree with you David. First thing I've always done is spray a little bit of starting fluid through the air intake. If all you have is a fuel delivery problem then your engine will start with this trick. Of course, it will stall once the starting fluid is burnt. Oh yes, flush out as much of the MIB as you can from the fuel system before adding fresh fuel.
