  • Learn how to deadhead baptisia to clean up those spent flower blossoms to limit seed production and allow the plant to store that energy in the root systems to support foliage and save up for next year’s blossoms or maybe even a repeat bloom.

Hi Leslie, Your demonstrations are always clear and easy to retain! I wondered if you could dry the spent flowers and allow for seed collecting after pruning?

Do you save the seeds after your deadhead and replenish in the garden?

      Hi Leslie,
I don't save the Baptisia seeds mostly because the plants I have are huge and I don't need or want more. Seed saving with perennials isn't a skill I've developed, but I'll tell you that the plant doesn't readily grow from seed in the garden.
