That security lad is a credit to his firm! Actually nice to see someone doing their job without the need of acting like a twat
Same in the US. Too many dicks, no matter how nice or professional you are we all get lumped into the same group.
Security people really are the bane of my life. I work in building maintenance in London and almost all security personnel i come across are unhelpful, usually bored, lazy and always finding problems or issues when the aren't any. Seriously, my job is stressful enough and these people make it way way worse.
@@tilerman they don't wanna put up with your shyte either
i agree
You may have not done well in school, however most people cant park their car in Tesco's car park properly, and they have a degree. Truck drivers are the life blood of this country! Respect to you and all the other truckers out there!
That was a beautiful Foden, I hope they keep her going for a few more decades. Maybe she's not allowed into London because she doesn't beep and shout at pedestrians when turning
Good news about your dad, wishing him a speedy recovery
Security: "You can't park there."
Luke: "It's broken down. "
Security: "You still can't park there!"
Luke: Ok cocker, if you'd care to push it round the corner."
Haha very funny! Nice one big fella
'I'll just tip some water on it so it shrinks so I can pick it up and move it for you champ.' I had a transmission failure in the center lane of a 3 lane hwy and the cop was the same. 'Move it to the side' bloody idiots.
Great news about your dad poor luke having truck problems again still a great video and showing us what happens when you break down looking forward to the next video stay safe
Great to see your dad is out of hospital and onward and upward for him now and hope he gets completely better very soon. Some more typical London driving again. Such a pain to have another truck problem. Interesting to see how a breakdown is handled. Stay safe and hope you have better luck for the rest of the week.
Hey Luke, another great vlog. Definitely one of my fears breaking down. Not had my first Class 2 job yet after passing 3 weeks ago, but hopefully starting on a casual weekend basis with local company over and above my full time van driving job.
"I'm just a truck driver".
Don't do yourself down, the country would grind to a halt without you.
Yes, GO CANADA...
yes you all hgvs are stars from norwich
Luke, you are a menace to scoiety with all these breakdowns ;) You poor bastard, hope your luck gets better.
If it helps I had teh airbags on my trailer explode last week whilst mid-delivery on a steep uphill climb. Stuck for 2 hours waiting for repairs on a 12 hour journey. Got to love when the trucks fight back :P
Great news about your Dad Luke! The breakdown was a pain. Iâve had a red âengine malfunctionâ warning come up on my DAF once about half a year ago and wouldnât let me start the engine for 15 mins. Havenât had an issue with it since though. But I start a new job next week, and they use MAN and Scania so thatâll be interesting
Best of luck with that move MAN back is very good ? thay have fuck all, What can i say about Scania over priced crap,
Great video, as always,l have been with you from the early days.Even when breaking down, you make it interesting, and good entertainment.Keep up the good work, also hope your dad keeps ok.Cheers.
Such a cool vlog shame you broke down but at least the security guy was nice about it and the guy who's yard was blocked and glad your dad is out of hospital hopefully he's recovering well I'll look forward to the next one luke
So pleased to here your dad's out. All the very best đđ
Great news about your dad!
Gutted about the break down too,
I passed my class one today!
Looking forward to getting out!
Luke you are a successful truck driver and vlogger. Doing a lot more than many! Iâm in Hong Kong today watching this!
Thatâs amazing news about your Dad Luke. So glad to see he is doing better. Glad you have warmed to the FK8 as well. They drive more like the old EP3 and are a fantastic car.
Iâm gonna have to get a couple of your hoodies. Maybe a âproper drivers do it with a twin splitâ one would be a good laugh.
For London everyone is pretty chill and understanding. It's nice to see!
Good to hear your old mans out of the hospital mate. Cheers for another great video.
Brilliant vid as usual.
If I could just say that one of my drinking pals has had a difib in for donkeys years and is still going strong, so your Dad will be around when you are an old man.Best wishes to you and your Family.
For the last few generations I've loved the Civic dash. The main reason I wanted one. They don't export manuals to Australia except the Type-R and that is out of my price range. I don't like CVT's. I like being able to put my foot down and something happens. Glad your dad is out and recovering.
Good news about your old man, sending positive thoughts.
I liked your face when the truck shut off when you broke down great video keep up the good videos hope to see you at Truckfest
Vlogs are great - the 36 minutes simply flies by. thanks. đ
Hello Luke, fantastic video yet again. Great news about your farther! Also could you do a video on tying the curtains back for when in heavy winds? Iâve been looking through CZcams but canât seem to find a video and us younger generation have never been shown how to do it? Thanks âïž
36:25 I can't believe this is still manual, I had a Magnum in the late 90's that was electric cab tilting. A lot has changed since I drove trucks, auto gear boxes and tacho cards probably being the two biggest changes, but I am amazed that you are still pumping cabs over.
Great video again, G14 looks a bit of an old bone shaker, looking forward to next weeks blog to see how you get on with her.
Well at least it's a reasonably comfortable place to break down. Welcome to DAF.
I had a 6 legger break down on me in the underground loading area at The Glades in Bromley. The accelerator system failed and the closest replacement was at the DAF factory in The Netherlands. I was recovered back to the yard in Banbury with 4 deliveries still on board.
I used to do Heavy Recovery work. Mainly on the M11 and I do not miss it. I enjoyed Recovery, just not on a Motorway. You do not realise how fast 70MPH is until you are standing at the side of the Motorway. I also did a lot of car recovery around the Bishop Stortford area. Herts and Essex. Good luck and safe driving. Martin. (Thailand)
You kept so cool with that security guy when you broke down, I would have struggled to keep so calm!
Ah yes! WhiteLight. One of the best companies in the UK that sells event gear. Top notch people. I don't work with them, but I work in the same industry, we're all happy people, mostly, happy to help out others. Couldn't of broken down in a better place honestly, amazing people. 21:32
Hi Luke from the warm climate of New Zealand, thoughts for you and your father. Diet good on you we learned that carbs at night are not good for weight so its yoghurt and some fruit not bananas, Well modern trucks eh, electronics eh honestly as much as I like what the modern truck or car is about and most are reliable, okay years ago when everything was simple I do not recall my Commer trucks giving grief. I broke a gearshift lever in my Perkins powered Commer in the 70s, managed to get a mechanic at the place I was dropping furnace oil at to weld it back together. Apart from breaking centre bolts on a single axle and having the trailer crab down the road fully loaded I made it to the garage and had the problem fixed. You are a good courteous driver and a credit to your craft, thanks for informative and entertaing videos
Wow that was an awesome introduction đđ»
Great news about your Dad mate hope feels better soon thank god you broke down there really not in middle of road in London lol !!!!
Good news about your dad. Not a great place to break down but based on your route in it could have been worse. I had a air line blow off coming out of a t junction. It locked in gear and stalled so I couldnt move. I was the least popular person in durham that day blocking a busy road. I spent a hour directing traffic till recovery arrived.
Hope your Dad makes a full recovery Luke I myself am waiting for a internal defibrillator to be fitted after contracting a virus in November 2019 which led to me having heart failure which in turn led to the DVLA limiting my licence to only cars and vans only so its a life in the planning office now for me
So glad your dads out all good and healthy mate class videos as always
Brilliant news about your Dad, heâll be better able to recover at home where heâs among his family and friends
Congratulations on reaching 56,000 subscribers and you will soon be at 57,000 subscribers
Glad to hear you're dad is on the mend mate , but oh I do coveteth the Foden wrecker though , proper old skool.
Just booked my class 1 training. Just out of interest, how do you record the time spent in the passenger seat of the recovery truck while itâs transporting you back to the yard. Is it POA?
Love watching your videos, hopefully one day ill be able to afford to do the tests to drive a class 1 or 2 vehicle, next week I start a job delivering for Tesco. The start of my driving career. my first job in 3 years after being a full time dad to 3 kids. Keep up the great videos!
Good for you.
Congratulations mate
Iâm doing the same mate, shopping delivery is a good start to a driving career I think. All the best!
Well done! Was made redundant November having started training preplanning my exit from the company last March⊠costs a fair bit but well worth it! Now left with practical part having added ADS over the last 2 weeks just to have a solid start. Will probably pass you on my rounds for Argos if you are in the south west :) good practice and exposure to the roads before going on to Cat1 or 2!
Good luck with that, I did that for 4 and a half years before I'd had enough of tescos shit.
Hope your dad makes a speedy recovery
yep speedy recovery from norwich
Should I say great video. For us. Sorry for your day. a long one Great to hear Top Man. ( your Dad ) is doing well Best wishes for him. Back to you. Thanks again. I Enjoyed your video Something new everyday. Take care and Stay safe Going to say. Safe Trucking.
brill news about your dad luke keep up the vlogs excellent viewing
Great news about your dad, The DAF trucks are getting a bit long in the tooth being ~8 years old, I think it'll be time for a fleet refresh at some point.
That intro was spectacular
I see you have a Cazoo car. Iâm a car transporter driver for them! Moved up to class one from doing home deliveries. Love your videos! Keep up the good work
Thanks mate đ€đ»
Great video again luck not good you broken down can't be helped Great news about your dad stay strong mate
Is there ever a good place to breakdown Luke and I'm pleased to hear that you're dad as made it back home and is on the road to recovery here's to him continuing to recover fully Luke
I recorded my first session of my HGV training just by purchasing my self a writing pad and pen plotting my drivers route and my own route and making sure that our load for the shops get in on time or be four time
That means then the company planners can't have a go at us both in case of closed roads or traffic jams or accidents or road works or delays the bosses would deduct some of the drivers wages and the trainie's wages
S**t happens. Glad you kept calm and dealt with what was thrown at you! Better luck next time!
Nice 1 luke,, cam cool head handled the break down..
What was that sticking up between the seats in the foden đ,
Safe travels
âđâ
19:30 nice reverse u turn and the breakdown. For those in a hurry. I live in Wimbledon. 10 minutes from where you broke down. Next time that happens press ALT+CTRL+DEL
Nice to hear good news about your dad. Plus guys on the road got me being a king of the road. Started to work for Gregory in Avonmouth doing deliveryâs for the Range where you collect and deliver. Hoping to do HGV driving February or march time. Keep these videos coming fella.
Hi Luke c hope your dad is now home and feeling very happier
Hope he is now feeling a lot stronger and l hope you will give your dad a shout out as your all ways away from home
It would be nice if you could take some time off work and
Spend the spare time with your mom and dad and you also deserve your rest
One of the best going in its time, good old girls.đ
London is a beast. Ive just started going round there over past couple months since I've been tramping. It blew my mind first couple times all cyclists and uber eats drivers got to have eyes all over. I always add a hour on to my planned delivery's đ.
I haven't been to London for over 20 years. I refuse to go anywhere near the place.
Quick question did you get work through avail ? How are they?
If Iâm not mistaken, the reason your tow truck got changed for another, is because they can only go 100 miles from base without needing a tacho or mot and certain other things. If they go over the 100mile they need to have them all because itâs mo longer classed as a recovery truck on paper.
Yes this could actually be the reason thank you
sorry about your break down again bad luck i guest thanks from norwich keep safe and thank you
Hi Luke, I did a bit of HGV driving for Ferryspeed in Portsmouth (you may or may not have heard of them) back in September. I lasted just seven shifts because the management were a bunch of c***s. For doing nights, I was paid ÂŁ12 per hour and they kept putting pressure on me to speed. I am one of the many thousands of HGV licence holders that will not be going back to the industry.
Every time I watch Luke c he his lorry breaks . what a jinx
Those recovery vehicles are mental. They can just lift a truck, then pull it and its load along as if it weighs nothing
Great video Luke not seen a foden in year's
If it is a DAF then I had the same on my coach before christmas, ECU fried and it is a common fault, took 5 weeks to get one to Greenhouse DAF.
Fantastic news on your dad. Stay safe. Shame about the tractor unit. That's trucking!
There's a McDonalds near me on a dual carriageway. When they first opened up after the first lockdown, people were queueing up on to this dual carriageway creating absolute chaos because of their brandead actions. The police had to come and shut McDonalds for a few days because they caused gridlock.
Great video luke and great news about your dad too pal đ. Not having much luck with them dafs mate
great vlog what do you think of the new insane laws
Love your movies Luke.âïžđ
Great video .. Glad your Dad is on the mend .. Stay safe and healthy ..
Wow what a day bet your glad that oneâs over
Another great video.
The look on your face when it was breaking down.!!!
wow Luke C in a HGV that must of been scary that the daf XF just brake down and good job your company had spear trucks for you and not like some of the other company that i ant going to mention cos they might be watching this or on here thay dont have mean trucks spear if one brake down but your company is the only one that i love and trucker jay in the uk you two are my favourite youtuber and keep safe and keep well and hope to see the G14 HSH Daf XF 105 truck as i love both of them and haven't seen any videos of ets2 games yet and how is your dad btw.
Whats the point of an unroadworthy spare truck ? You have two fucked ones LOL
A Foden!! The last of a long line of a great British brand even if it was owned by DAF by then.
23:10 "what are you going to do"? I will keep off the double yellows if that helps ;-)!
That's DAF for you mate, thats why you need a Volvo or Scania. Not saying DAF is bad, but the Swedish sure made a more reliable truck.
Amazing news about your dad hope he has a speedy recovery shame about the truck all you seem to have is bad luck with that truck đ
What happens to your tacho hours when you break down?
ECUs. The worst thing that was invented for automotive use. What was wrong with cables that could be replaced by the road side? Electronics always go wrong and when they do, you're screwed. My old Ford Focus did this a lot. Eventually it was traced to a broken solder joint in the ECU connection in the back ofthe dash.
Oh man the shock on your face like what the fudge just happened.
We've had bigger down there. (period) Drive ! For the new batch of shirts. Would make the point clearer. I think.
Thatâs what it is đ€đ»đ
What is that beeping noise while driving?
Glad ya dad is doing well mate. Not very good by DAF is it that the ecu just goes like that modern technology for ya
"Sorry m8, Its dead" Seat slowly sags and dies :)
Good Monday morning to you sir and your family from Wellington Somerset i
I'm one of the numptys who questioned your spelling of 'there' on insta. Don't I feel like a bell end now đ
not again for sure luke but i bet there could have been a worse spot to break down intresting video we have the same problems allways a ecu break down or tyres cheers
Another cracking video Luke, not having a lot of luck with the DAF at the moment, think you need an Iveco!! Glad your Dad is home and doing well! Just booked my next medical with D4Drivers first one Iâve paid for in a while Stagecoach have paid for my last three! But very reasonably priced!! Keep up the good work keep safe! đđ
Hi luck have just come cross your channel and have subscribed
We've had a bunch of Ecu's go pop as well and I'm afraid I've got bad news for you big lad.... XF's (and CF's for that matter) are basically a re-hash of the 95 (and 85) from over 30 years ago with "modern" electrical stuff to meet euro directives. Unfortunately, PACCAR aren't up to it.
I hate them they're crap. So do the fitters. When you call the garage with a problem, the standard answer is "whadya expect, it's a DAF" đ. They're a manager and bean-counter's (who thinks he can still makes the books balance by magic) truck.
We've got, officially, "only" 5% of the fleet off the road all the time, either in our own garages or back at the dealerships.
We've got hundreds of em and I've done, well, I don't even know how many thousand miles in them. For us, they're even rubbish even when they're not broken down, since we have the baby 10.8L engine at a supposed 450 horse. Like where was it 450? At the flywheel on PACCAR 's bench dyno? At an actual 44 tonnes, which we are, almost every load, its not even 10Hp/ tonne at the wheels.
Your water pump will go sooner or later too, so you've got that to look forward to.
Sorry old bean.
I'm on nights and so I rarely get the same unit each shift.
Probably not the done thing to say who my company is, but we used to have ERF's and some Volvos, then Mercs.
We thought Mercs were a bit unreliable, til we got lumbered with DAF's.
Good luck. Keep smiling.
Your company like crap vehicles then ? ERF ? VOLVO and German BEDFORDS
Question ⊠I take it your manual entry would have been other work for the full duration of the breakdown to clocking off that day đź
What impresses me most having watched many of your vids is how genuinely chill you remain about morons you share the road with. Important if driving a 40t truck of course, but notable all the same. I'm adjusting my own car driving habits from watching you.
Nice to see a pretrip is done too many non professionals out there.
"We are out of here"
*About 15 seconds later*
*Truck dies*
what a shame was just beging to enjoy this part of the you tube & think that your broken down out side where you just delivered to .
Whatâs happening on the fifth Luke đđđđđâ€ïž
I got bills going out on the fifth but apart from that đ€·ââïž
Happens to us all eventually
