- (December 2014) TO THIS DAY people still ask me what happened to my 1997 Ford Ranger. This video will answer the question. Also enjoy the last tour I ever did of the pickup. While I still miss it at times, it was starting to have issues.

I loved this pickup truck. It was a cool truck. Rest in piece Ford Ranger 1997-2014
That pickup truck was very iconic. Rest in peace.
It was iconic. It's sad that it got violated by a hit and run driver.

@@DieselDucy my uncle had a 2000 GMC Sierra and the gas tank always had an overflow problem but the bright side i went to the market garage in roanoke last night to ride both Dovers

Sorry to hear about that Andrew. I know this was nearly 10 years ago but I’m sure you had a lot of great memories in that truck. A man and his truck go above and beyond for each-other.

I currently own a 2008 Toyota Tacoma, 4.0 V6 with 259,000 miles, i got true dual Flowmaster mufflers with 2 1/4 pipes, a Spectre cold air intake, sounds sweet for a V6, it's easily one of the best trucks ive owned.
I'm not an expert on cars, but I've heard v6 toyotas are bullet proof.

When things get old we know it’s time to for them to go unfortunately. Put your pickup truck 1997 ranger will always stick with us forever and ever and always live on your videos. When you get a moment watch it on your stuff and that’s how you will never forget it. Sucks but things happen in life. Rip

I remember when you posted on Facebook when this just happened. Still a bummer. I saw the old Celebrity in the background. What caused you to get rid of her? Just curious. Also, we still have a 1992 Ford Ranger 4 banger 5 speed to this day.
The oil pump went out in at and the engine seized at around 270000 miles.

Im sorry to hear that Andrew. Did you get the license plate and make and model of the vehicle that hit your Ford Ranger?
Nope. It was a hit and run.
In theory the dent couldve been fixed but replacement parts wouldve probably been very expensive and it would probably be hard to take the broken stuff out since the impact probably damaged the various bolts and connectors and besides the driver door was jammed

i remember you coming to get me in that little truck from the TA when i used to driver OTR for swift and i really liked it
was in the market for a small truck and my uncle found me a 99 Mazda b4000 it looks almost identical to yours but with the super cab on it same color told him yes do not let it get away
actually it IS a ford ranger XLT but with fancy trim and mazda badging
the truck actually came from ST. Louis funny enough.
the 96-99 always had coolant issues the 2.3 and the 4.0 had terrible head machining and thats what is wrong with mine they usually crack between the valve seats
bad thing about mine vs your straight 4 is they have to pull the whole engine out on the 4.0's to do heads
but i can say i miss my old black honda Delsol with fancy stripes on it the 48mpg it got beats the pants off my 18mpg the mazda gets but you are right they are enjoyable capable little trucks

Did you buy this truck new or used? What year did you originally buy it? What did you replace it with after the accident?
New in 1997. We got the celebrity after my accident I believe.
That's sad. It seems like one big bang then the vehicle is declared totalled. I have a car that a tree felled on. We're concerned if we turn it to insurance. They will declare it total. They probably don't consider the 1997 vehicles worth to fix. I would consider older things worth it.
Yeah that is why they totaled. Got a good settlement though.

Andrew, even though it is March, I deeply feel sad for you since your loss of your beloved cute little 1997 Ford Ranger😢. RIP Ford Ranger 1997-2023. But don’t worry Andrew, that’s life and we need to move on. You can always get a new Ford Pickup Truck. New models are coming out by Ford.
Wow Im surpized it even was still working dispite that dent and probably in theory it couldve been fixed but it wouldve been really expensive because they probably dont even make automobile parts like that anymore

I don't know about Virginia's hit and run laws, but here in Washington state, they are a felony. And it'll get you accommodations at one of our 5 star iron bar hotels.

I can’t believe someone totaled your truck Andrew if I was gonna hall it off I would’ve took parts off the truck that was still good like the tailgates and headlights the gas cap could’ve been pried open with a crow bar and the driver door that was kinda jammed shut I would have a buddy try to open it from the outside while I try to kick the door open from the inside was somebody wreckless driving down the road and just ran into your truck plus at 4:48 do you still have that celebrity 1987 car

Well r.i.p to that its probably either in pieces at the scrap yard or they took it apart and salvaged the parts for another car because some stuff like the tires could in theory be salvaged

It is a shame they totaled that truck over this amount of damage, I bet this truck would've had a much longer life if the insurance company didn't let it go like that.
The truck was near end of life anyway.
@@DieselDucy Yeah, that's right, you did mention the coolant system starting to leak after all but it undeniably was a great truck while it lasted.
I gotta say, this was kind of sad to watch towards the end. You own a vehicle that long, bought it brand new off the showroom floor, only to see it end like this. Now, the real question is what happened to the 1987 Chevy Celebrity 🤣🤣 JK, I know what happened to it.
