I always think “that rotary Needs a sequel gear box” like what a dirt bike or quad would have. 1⬇️ N 4or5 ⬆️ . Would absolutely do better then a torque converter
What a fun build and has been a favorite to watch. With that, I am so happy to have moved to a state where ATV’s and SXS are street legal. I am looking for an older Raptor as a winter project for next summer already.
You seem to be able to get your hands on a lot of these motors, yet I’m not finding any where I’m located, and the only few I’ve found, the guy wants a fortune for his “collection”.
Honestly best build on you tube best functioning turbo system you can actually tell and see the results great jobs guys y’all build a solid ripper beat the track out if it 😝
After seeing the drag cart's torque converter go full shrapnel send on the carsandcameras channel recently i'm hoping y'all consider a nice tc cover in the near future, especially considering y'all got a turbo charged Wankel strapped to that thing! 😂
You kids (I'm old so you're kids) don't realize how lucky you are to have all that room to play. I grew up like that, then they paved over my home town and turned it into a big city and now there's no more anything like what you're doing, and now my kids don't have what I had and that makes me sad, but I'm very happy to see there are still some places in this country where kids can go play. Enjoy it!
It's getting there 👏👏 it's definitely holding back though and not getting up into that power curve. sounds perfect on the road but on the grass it's not getting there
@@tejdz1337 I'd say they could probably come back a main jet or 2... They said they jumped about 100cc in one go. A bit leaner might stop that hangup. Or even 1 more tooth on the sprocket
@@tejdz1337 if you added a tooth to the rear wheel it would change the ratio enough. I think the CVT is ok as it is I think it's just slightly off on fuelling. Just slightly. Enough to keep it from plateauing. It's just buffeting as it is. The fact it's ok the road backs that up for me as there's less load its able to rev out cleaner but still sounded very slightly rich.
Im thinking it needs a stiffer clutch spring for higher rpm engagement. Also is the driven pully working properly? If the torque converter setup is tuned properly you will have less turbo lag.
Real nice! I wonder if its the same rotary u guys rebuilt wayy back .. Havent watched in a while. Excellent.. and 59pmh.. wow. It would be a skunker on a minibike lol
@@jarvislarson6864it just an idea, being that they put a 4 stroke pipe on a 2 stroke engine, it would at least help, it wastes a lot of potential from that engine being that it has no expansion chamber with that exhaust currently on it
@@jarvislarson6864 I wasn't talking about the 2 stroke exhaust pipe helping the turbo, more for the actual engine itself, the exhaust by itself helps pull in gas from the Reed valves from a better pressure diferential and increases the engines power output by helping it improve its volumetric efficiency
@off spec psi is all relative to the size of the turbo, more boost doesn't necessarily mean more sound. It might also be how loud the rotary is, I obviously wasn't there so couldn't tell yah
@off spec i get that and i understand what your saying. However keep in mind its rotary. rotarys naturally have a smoother power band and only really rev faster when pushing wild boost, or when parts are lightened and the irons are ported. Every intake stroke there is a power stroke and an exhaust stroke happening at the same time, per rotor. I could see it making up for some boost through a tiny snail
@off spec again i do understand what your saying but the powerband difference also wouldnt be determined by displacement or cycle, It’s turbo size. I guarantee you that almost every 13b or 12a that makes power with boost is ported, porting isnt only about airflow it changes the timing as well. I also wouldn’t say that they have powerbands similar to 2 strokes, at least in my experience. when boosted sure but N/A they are buttery smooth powerbands that fall off a little at the top when they start being limited by stock ports.
@off spec no way, a turbo motor is going to be more quiet than an N/A motor??? no shit, you seem a little less versed in turbos and rotarys than you think? These type of turbos are so small even tiny engines spool them almost immediately, big boost hits come from big turbos ma boi
i think it needs gears.... turbo and rotary lagg make it look slow AF like the autotransmission i think u lose some power with it... u cant boost it and keep the power band high
ok this project is beyond it's prime now. how about going on with an other. f.e. same setup but with a 600 cc motorbike engine. but keep the torque converter and the turbo
I love the 80s intro but you forgot the freeze frame high five at the end🤣
🤣 Totally! 🤣
It was pretty Rad!
Damn bro turbo lag + rotary powerband! Thats a crazy machine yall got together
I think it needs double the air, shorter runner from carb. and basuga style intake
That thing is sick, the fuel is going so fast it may need a larger tank vent
80S retro intro. Love it. ROTARY REBELLION every Saturday night. 8pm sharp
If that thing had no tourq converter and had a gear box with clutch I think it would be much faster
I always think “that rotary

Sequential*
Exactly put a clutch and a five or six gearbox on that thing and it will Rip and I would take off the turbo
@@korymanuel8682
With a clutch they could Rev it way higher and get it into boost then dump the clutch so I think the turbo should stay for now
@@mrgmc6314 oh very true absolutely I just would take them off because I'm just not a fan of them
What a beast. This has been a great build series guys!!

sounds like its leaning out. Need to get an AFR gauge and boost gauge on it. Small intercooler might be a good idea too.
I was thinking the same, sounding like it wants more fuel when it gets loaded up in the dirt.
You should shape the outlet of the muffler as a rotor.

Love the intro guys! Noticed a forward control Jeep in the background at your top secret test track. What's the story on that?
That aneurysm right there. Looked pretty scary.
Now it's time for 2 headlights 1 on top in front 1 way in front by the 2 tires and 1 brake light in back.and a charging system.that be cool..
That's a sexy quad right there brotha
Making one right now whats you sprocket set up for front and rear?
You guys have to put some plastics on it I would look sick

yeah it needs to rev waaaay more, probably has a cvt setup for a 4 stroke

That is a badass cab over dually parked by the camper
Y’all should sell the idea of a rotary Atv to Honda/Yamaha or another big brand
You all did it, killer machine now paint it and if you have the plastics put them back on would really be cool...
Get a boost gauge and up the boost!
About @6.05 that cvt is not getting anywhere near its top ratio? and it sounds like its not even pulling into the power band?
Beast mode !
Braaaaappppppp🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Not sketchy enough now do a 13b or maybe just cut right to doing a 20b😁

Wouldnt a softer clutch spring engage sooner?
I’m a intelligent engineer I know engines from top to bottom but this brings me pure joy
wheres the boost?
Real nice! I wonder if its the same rotary u guys rebuilt wayy back .. Havent watched in a while.

I want that FC in the background
Get a 2 stroke exhaust pipe for it and it'll transform that engine
Turbo makes exhaust mods near useless

Such a cool intro 😎
Sounds pretty good...
Im fast boy....jeah im fast as f... boy 😆👍
With a gearbox could it be better?
Definitely could be geared higher. Or at least CVT+ high/low gearbox
It’s cool just need more boost.
i think it needs gears.... turbo and rotary lagg make it look slow AF
like the autotransmission i think u lose some power with it... u cant boost it and keep the power band high
Now you have to get a proper gear box
I just started watching stranger things
Also is there a way to tune it?
Now a 3, 4 or 5 speed gear box
Where can I buy one of those Motors I've been searching
Loved the old intro music better!
ok this project is beyond it's prime now. how about going on with an other. f.e. same setup but with a 600 cc motorbike engine. but keep the torque converter and the turbo
Lol
you should put plastics on it
Honestly it did not seem very fast or giddy... then you got on the road and it would zip
love the sound to its its own crazy
You should get plastics
All that and any stock 450r will absolutely destroy it lol
No fking way this is amazing
please put a boost gauge on it to see what its making
Where can I buy this engine?
They used an old Sachs rotary engine from an old motorcycle i believe
Can use a predator 212 from harbor freight. Around 120$ on sale.
Thats sick!!! But definitely doesnt rip
Make a awd one
Brand new brakes. "Hopefully it don't brake" lol isn't that what brakes are supposed to do!? Lol just kidding I know what you meant 😅
Looks like about 25mph
And still slower than a stock blaster 🤣
Way cooler though
Need some lighter weights in that variator let that baby sing
that engine need a gearbox!!!!
Should use a better chassis with that set up
You think it's fast on that....Put it on a Sachs Prima G3, with 2.5"-3" wide 17" tires....
Race a banshee
Nah u need more air in it and more gas u can clearly hear that its choking
Now you need som plastic
That a two stroke engine?
😐?
Sounds too high geared, needs to rev higher
Plastics?
it still is slow.....
Yeah lol I know right.
Then make a faster one
@@CIGA i will make a slower one and say it is faster. 😉
@@GhostHuntersFriesland 😂👍🏼
It's like a nd miata, slow but faster
What is fast 😂
Not as fast of the CT80
Your opening graphics are VERY hard on the eyes and can cause issues. Please don't use that effect.
it sounds like a 2 stroke and a 4 stroke had a kid
First!!
It really doesnt look powerfull at all thru camera.....
Doesn't look fast at all..80's 200x would shame that thing and a 250r would gap like the grand canyon
Why is it clowns like you can never do you helmet strap up?????
Damn my 250 ex faster than that
Honestly looks slow
My stepsons Yamaha blaster 200 with my fat ass 250lb on it is faster than that... I'm sorry but that's pathetic for having a turbo
Your kids Yamaha probably wasn’t put together in the garage with old parts that were never meant to be together either so there’s that
Blaster also has a six speed. This has only a torque converter with one gear.
Intro🤮
its a piece of crap💩
