In Beekbergen zijn in de locomotievenloods een aantal modelbanen opgesteld. Ook is er een spoormarkt waar van alles op het gebied van spoorwegen en modelbanen verkrijgbaar zal zijn. Het museumstoomdepot is opengesteld, en de bezoeker krijgt een indruk van het werk op een stoomdepot. Er wordt kolen geladen, water genomen, gedraaid op de draaischijf en nog veel meer. Naast diverse oude auto's zijn er prachtige gerestaureerde vrachtauto's te zien.
In Loenen zijn er diverse activiteiten, waaronder een draaimolen voor de kinderen of echte miniatuurtreinen waar kinderen op mee kunnen rijden. Ook zijn er stoomwalsen, stoomtractoren en een zaagmachine operationeel. In Loenen komt u ook stands tegen van collega maatschappijen en diverse stands met modelbaan artikelen en occasions.

Terug naar Toen 2008 zit er weer op! Met 10 locomotieven onder stoom, vele personen- en goederentreinen hebben de vele vrijwilligers van de VSM weer hun passie kunnen tonen aan het publiek. Ondanks het tegenvallende weer op zondag is het bezoekersaantal van 2007 geëvenaard.
Met een intensieve dienstregeling tussen Apeldoorn en Beekbergen, Beekbergen en Loenen en tussen Loenen en Dieren vond traditioneel in het eerste weekend van september het grootste stoomtreinevenement van Nederland plaats. De vele bezoekers konden zien hoe in het depot in Beekbergen de locomotieven opnieuw voorzien werden van kolen en water en hoe de reusachtige machines gedraaid werden op de draaischijf.
Verder kon men in de loods in Beekbergen diverse modelbanen bezichtigen en stonden er enkele kramen met spoor-gerelateerde koopwaar. Er reden miniatuurstoomtrekkers rond over het gehele depot, waarop kinderen een ritje mee konden maken. Op het terras in Beekbergen kon men genieten van een hapje en een drankje en zo de vele treinen aan zich voorbij zien komen.
In Loenen konden de kinderen zich uitleven. Er waren diverse miniatuurmodelbanen, waarop een ritje gemaakt kon worden, er was een draaimolen. Verder was ook in Loenen een terras waar men even kon bijkomen van al het stoomgeweld. Op de losweg in Loenen stonden diverse stoomtrekkers, klassieke auto's en een oude zaagmachine opgesteld welke veel bekijks trokken.
Ook kon men in Loenen op de trein stappen om een ritje naar Dieren of Eerbeek te maken. In Eerbeek kon men uitstappen en kennis maken met de Middelste Molen, welke met de historische autobussen te bereiken was. De Stichting Veteranen Autobussen (SVA) had op het stationsplein in Eerbeek een groot aantal historische bussen opgesteld.

Dear brother, my father was in Indian Railways and even my grand pa too. My father was in tears when he saw this video!!!! It has taken him back to 1930s when he was operating such steam engines. Its a goods engine with not allot of weight. The museum track has allot of crossings and they have stop every major crossing.

No, this are the Class 50s. They were cinstructed before the war in the late 1930s. The infamous Kriegsloks were the Class 52s. They were based in the Class 50, but were a lot more symplified and had less technique and were far easyier to operate and repair, thus making them very suitable for the use in wartime. You could say the Kriegslok /Class 52 was a degeneration or a advanced variant of the Class 50, it depends.
The Baureihe 5o was intended to be used as a goodstrain loco. one sees that on the size of the drive wheels. The larger Wheels 6 foot in Diameter or more are for fast passenger Trains.

Ik had nog zo gezegd tegen de VSM plaats never nooit een hek langs dit stuk trace is zo geweldig om te filmen zo maar ze hebben het toch gedaan. En weg is het mooiste stukje rail om een stoomtrein te filmen. Nu staat er dus een lelijk hek van lelijk ijzer en nog hoog ook. Zo verschrikkelijk jammer FOEI VSM.
@@ejovadi Helemaal mee eens! Op de Industrieweg in Veendam kun je nog wel heel mooi de stoomlocs van de STAR filmen, daar staat gelukkig nog geen hek.

in the U.S.A Whitcomb Diesel engine that had served to liberate europe. That enigine has crossed the pond for the third time. That type of engines had run in the netherlands at NS, bought from the us army for restart railservice after WW2

Yes, there are plenty left to restore. West Germany had steam until the 1970's Easter germany had steamservice until the fall of the Berlin wall 1989. That stock of steam engines went for the most part in to privet hands and museums. Deutsche Bahn has a workshop for steam in Meiningen to restore these engines. Vsm does there own restaurations. So how deep are your pockets.

Jammer dat de 50 3564 is omgebouwd. De locomotief is in 1954 onder reconstructie(Reko), gegaan.
Bij de fabriek werd ze onder het nummer 50 307 afgeleverd aan de Deutsche Reichsbahn.
Er is nog een loc bij de VSM, de 50 3654-6. Alleen is zij door de VEB Lokomotivfabrik
Karl Marx Babelsberg gebouwd.
Teun Railfan maar ze hebben nu een altbau,reko en een olie 50 in dienst. toch ook mooi om te zien hoe 1 loc serie zo kan verschillen na zo veel jaar.
