Every single person has a story, and that means that every single person is interesting. If you haven't had a conversation about how interesting your life is in a while, then you've got a lot to talk about with those people you haven't met yet.

Here's another tip. Everybody is basically like you. They all want people to be interested in them. So, instead of focusing on "Why am I so unhappy?" ( which is egocentric ) start asking other people questions about themselves. They will love it because you make them feel important and valued. So they will respond by not just liking you, but loving you.
Problem solved.
It's a paradox really, ie by giving, you get.
To everyone struggling with this - Don't worry, first few years are the hardest, later you get used to it.

What if people make you sad, even if they're not trying?
What if you had close friendships but they turn into casual friendships. That's the hard thing. Or even if you do try to contact or imply you want to hang out but don't get much of a response. Sure I can find someone else but its sucks. Agree with what you said. I have come a long way. But just frustrated at feeling the "un-fullfilling" "friendships" I have. Sure they have stuff to do, that's fine but no real connection. Not to say I can be everyone's best friend.
There's me expecting a video shitting on the sad bois, loved this and everything about it, wish I'd seen this 11 year ago 😂 but the message still rings true, even after doing it all the hard way 👌 more videos like this on the internet please 🥰

wow, i wish i had heard these simple words 5 or 6 years ago... there is so much wisdom in your words, that just for being so simple, these words are disregarded all the time... i'm still overcoming these social fears, but it gets harder when you have notable physical defects..

im lonely, but im happy.. then what should i do about it? i played online game, listen to all my favourite songs and watch all my favourite movies.. and cook and eat my favourite food.. i think somebody became lonely and unhappy is because they lack of passion or they dont do what they love the most.. lucky me.. i always feel enough and thats alone makes me happy.. and i really hate crowds area or just talk to somebody face to face, idk just dont like it..

But something that has grown on you for 8 or some years is hard to change the feling that nobody wants you is so hard to cope with :-( Maybe if i got a bit drunk it wouldnt matter what i thought others cared about me at a party since i would have entertained myself.

I know this is late, but I can only tell you what I know myself to be true: Find what you love doing -- what you're really good at. You and I both know there's something, even if it's absurdly weird. That doesn't matter. Do that thing as well as you can, get better every day, and learn to love yourself for your inherent abilities. When you love yourself, good people flock to you and your confidence has a solid ground to stand on. I wish you the best of luck in this, and I'd love to hear what your "thing in life" is!

thank you I try your advise and go out more instead of staying inside because I'm scared to get hurt again. I just need to move on from my past.
I don't feel lonely in my (hostel) room up to the point where home work (maths home work, to be specific) is left. Problem comes when its finished. I go on looking on the net for maths questions, but it drives me nuts to find problems either too easy or too difficult. I abandon that search, and in a pathetic desperation try to find something that catches my interest. Unfortunately, nothing does. Needless to say, the feeling of loneliness only complicates the problem.

I don't know where you stand on this, like what type of person you are. However, being a social introvert, I think you have the right intention speaking about this but people will not get up after watching this video and go to a social event. I hate big crowds; I look down when I walk; I've always been this way. We do this to ourselves, and though we don't receive a lot of social interaction, I think most shy people are much more profound. The perk of being shy, is being special.
