- In order for her to progress in her training, she has to let me use a spur on her. I think I have prepared her, but we will find out together as I do it.

Keeping the mike on while riding has really helped understanding the reason for the schooling you do and shows how much to expect things are so much clearer. Thank you 😊
I owned a tie-down once....I ended up using it to connect 2 tow ropes together to get out of a snowbank. Worked pretty well for that...
Your "thinking out loud" observations are most helpful. Thank you, Tim!
Star seems to be doing slightly better. I have no doubt that you will get her where she needs to be. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and skills.
I'm a little bit surprised she's not rooting her nose more especially after having had a tie down used before.
She reaches up underneath herself well with her hind end, you just have to get those shoulders under control.
I think she'll come around nicely with your persistence! Great video Tim and thanks for reminding everyone there is a LOT of repetition involved!
She’s really a pretty mare. I really enjoy watching your videos. You have a lot to offer and these folks who send you their horses are fortunate to have your guidance & wisdom.
Draw reins same thing. If you have one trying to knock your teeth out they help to save your face but you will still have to take them.off at some point and address the basics. I like this video.
Beautiful horse! I could watch her all day.
Great trainer!
He keeps touching mares right side with Spur🥶 I hate Spurs!!
Good morning guys. Well done. Thank you for video Tim.
She is a good looking mare…
Excellent, thank you!
Very interesting info about the tie down and I am curious to hear more about why a leverage bit is not the answer for a resistant horse if you do an in depth bit video. Thoroughly enjoying your channel! Thank you!
She could be a sister to my mare.
So knot only do we get horse lessons, butt we get English lessons two!
Yes I know what I did!
U r funny 🖒
When you come around the step, she looks at it. Bet she sure wants you to get off on that step!!
Amazing
Her attention could be lost or it could be loose and fall off 😂
Love the homophones!!!!
Is a 'tie down' what we could call, in 'British' English, a standing martingale? I think it probably is, as she looks, by many of her head movements, as if she's seeking one.
A tie down is a strap ot line that attaches to a halter or bridle curb strap / chain and to the front ring at the center of a front girth. Used to keep a horse's head lower and not throwing / tossing their head up.
@@tereseramsey1375 Ok thanks - quite different in action to a standing martingale then, which is attached to the nose band and runs down to the centre of the girth. It has no action on the bit at all.
How do you know which bit to use and at what point in training? I have a horse fighting to even take a bit. We have been working it slowly but don't want to use the wrong one once we accomplish her taking one.
I've done several videos on bits.
Have you tried a bit less bridle, I know some can be harsh in the wrong hands but there's other more gentle types and some horses thrive in them,
@melaniesheen1642 I have not, but wondered about them. I will look more closely into them. Thank you.
@timandersonhorsetraining thank you I will look them up.

Loosing?
loosing?
Most viewers doe not even know what 'homophone' means and your superimposed question in the video is childish. Stop it. And video with moving subtitles in white letters are unreadable.
And it still got you to comment which tells youtube to continue serving my videos to you and other people. Thank you.
@@timandersonhorsetraining LOL! There's always one in every crowd, isn't there?
nobody is asking you to watch. I'll bet you're a lot of fun at parties too.😂
@@timandersonhorsetraining, I am curious about changing the bit every 3rd ride. You said she is not ready for leverage so is it a variation of snaffles?
Why do you have such a denigratory opinion about the vocabulary and educational levels of those who view this channel? Or are you basing your assumption that everyone is at the level of the people who surround _you_? LOL!
Hey DUDE , in my opinion , if you need a stool get on a Horse its time for the rocking chair.!!!!!!!!!!
I guess you know when to retire from horses then.
