    As always, clear, concise info given in an easily understood way. Thanks!

    Good tips Kevin it was exactly the same back in the 70s when I learned the Oxy acetylene process (1) Heat settings (2) Your torch manipulation (3) Rod dip timing , Any deviation in your dip timing will will be noticeable in your dimes and weld appearance. As kevin pointed out Hood time is your best friend .

    I'm French and "a lil dab 'll do" reminds me of hearing this on foul-mouth tech-master AvE, probably talking about some cutting fluid somewhere on YT...
    Anyway, thanks for the tip, now I gotta buy a new welder with pulse. Yeeha.
    Thanks for the inspiration...

    Thank you! I have been pulsing with my foot on the pedal and had always wondered if, or rather how, I could set up my machine to pulse for me! Luckily I have the same machine!

    Where is the stack of dimes??? I want to learn different welders techniques on creating a stack of dimes before buying a welding machine. Unless you really don't really need a stack of dimes look?

    • @KevincaronSculpture
      @KevincaronSculpture  Před 5 lety +1

      In my opinion you don't "need" a stack of dimes look. It looks great but really doesn't contribute to the strength of the weld.

    I been welding for 40+ years and was always told from different employers I was the best all round welder they ever encountered. Had to do over again, I'd done my best to got to college after high school. Sorries trade there is!! Breathing all that weld smoke, grind dust and abrasives, paint fumes from the paint shop drifting over, all the paint thinners, acetone. Grind dust down your back and neck, clothes getting filthy burned up, skin covered with burn scars. Treated like scum from office people, low pay used as a crane and forklift, summertime heat unbearable under leathers while those sorry office people load up their cars with golf clubs going to the golf course on company time making 6 figures a year while paying the welders peanuts. So you know what? I went back to school earned an associate degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Bachelors in project management., didn't do a bit of good. Why you want to change now after being a welder 40 years? Well got tired of hearing that. My response. Tired off breathing weld smoke grind dust and abrasives, paint fumes. I want to sit behind a desk like you doing nothing making 6 figures a year while loading the car with golf club's going to the golf course and get paid for it. And Kevin as a welder for 40 years, that weld looks like a kid laid that down who just started to weld. Sorry bead you laid down brother.

    You always motivate me to go practice on a flat piece of steel; at least for a little while. So far, my MIG looks better than my TIG.

    • @KevincaronSculpture
      @KevincaronSculpture  Před 7 lety +2

      Not for long, keep up the practice and you will use that mig less and less..

    • @KevincaronSculpture
      @KevincaronSculpture  Před 7 lety

      I don't , just put it on and get to work..
      I supposed you could coat it with leather conditioner.

      Kevin Caron, Artist I also heard it could have reference to Burma Shave. I’m irish and born in the 80s so never seen those old ads. But if that’s what you’re referring to then check out a Tom Waits song called “Burma Shave” 👍
