THIS is why I didn't watch this before. This looks SO GOOD that now I want to make it along with your carrot cake for tomorrow. Luckily I don't have the stuff to make it and I don't feel like going back into town. But I guess this is in my future anyway... sigh. lol YOU make me smile so much. However, we may have personal preferences for substitutes for specific ingredients or using a different method & I hope you understand that too & sometimes, we may not have access to certain ingredients or tools. Even though you recommend certain ingredients or methods do you still encourage experimentation & flexibility? There is nothing wrong with playing around with any of your recipes. I might want to try low fat cream cheese for this Oreo pie & see what happens & what it tastes like. At home, there is no must when it comes to following a recipe. It’s a free for all at home with recipes.
Experimentation is certainly welcomed and you should certainly adjust things to your tastes! I have really only tried it the way it's presented which is why I recommend it that way. I also tend to get complaints when the alterations don't turn out and I am blamed for a bad recipe. As for low fat cream cheese here, the reason I don't recommend it is because it probably won't set up quite as well.

A pre-made crust is MUCH less expensive, than buying the $5-$7 package of cookies. Also, I don’t own a pie plate, and would need to purchase one.
You can use a pre made crust, just note they are typically smaller so you will have leftover filling and a smaller pie. Or you can skip this one.
