Thank you so much! I was recently accepted into Cytopathology\tech program. They are changing the name to: Molecular Diagnostic something along those lines. Anyhoo, I just wanted to say; your lecture has help me tremendously. I was struggling understanding the difference between repair and atypical, and when to report it in my findings. I have been praying for a Cytopathologist tutor. Prayers answered THANK YOU GOD!

I'm not in a cytopathology program but I am a student and have started to become interested in cytology and women's health. What made you decide to choose this program if you don't mind me asking.

Informative lecture, Thank you. What is the advantage of doing pap smear instead of visual inspection with acetic acid (VIA)?

Thank you so much, really insightful! I am kindly asking for more elaboration on "ground glass appearance" as in what you actually mean by the phrase. Thank you.

hi there fellow student! I think I could be of help? They refer to the term ground glass appearance. Because a stain-glass window (at a church) has many sections, but are molding together to make a FULL picture. Hope this helps??? I am struggling with the difference between EC & EM reparative or atypical diagnosis, and when to use it. Do you have any feedback??

The term "ground glass", when used as an adjective, describes the opacity of the object in question. It usually means the object is "hazy" or "foggy", but that things are still able to be seen through the surface. If a window or normal sheet of glass is transparent, if it has been ground or fogged, material behind the glass is visible, but hazy. For a point of reference, google "Ground glass material"

Is this abnormal finding, endometrial glands are positive for vimentin and show patchy P 16 expression. P53 expression is heterogeneous consistent with wild like pattern. Ki67 proliferation index reflect the proliferative phase of the endometrium. This was results from a D&C I had two weeks ago. Can you explain what it means.
