This is the third podcast with Scottie Baldwin who is overall so impressive and the reason for his repeat invitations. There is no sign of him being impressed with himself due to his association with Prince. Scottie is grounded in the reality of who he is and the unique value of what he brings. His frankness is not always appreciated but it is always delivered with the utmost respect, appreciation, and humility.
Michael, your podcasts are healthy with no sugar added and you should be proud of the work that you do in presenting the spectrum of guests and the discussion of information that they have to share on the amazing life of Prince. Great show!

Prince did not commit suicide. He likely had a dependence on Percocet but he did not WANT to die. No way.
In his duality, he expressed both urges in his lyrics. He was obsessed with Life & Death, and even eulogized himself with the “Come” album.
I don't believe he killed himself... he needed pain meds and someone got him illegal Chinese Fentanyl...

1:03:40 Scotty says, I did not know that mattered but yes, he is a brother. All that mattered to Scotty was that the man was good at what he did and that Scotty considered him a friend. Scotty would not have recommended him otherwise.

@@stephenjones4013 Yeah. The title is a bit misleading because going into the podcast, one might think the question is being posed about Prince. But instead, it is a question posed by him. Maybe to captivate attention . . . . ? I didn't really read the title before I listened but understand better now why you asked your question.

Hard to sympathize with the heirs. Not one has discussed their brother's musical genius. The janitor at Paisley Park museum probably did more to sustain his legacy.
Why is this even a discussion? Both his parents were African American. Sure they were light skin. And many others are to. I can speak for myself on that. I know why people think that, because of Purple Rain. But Purple Rain wasn't based on all facts about his life.

I love these interviews as much as I do the Tea style interviews. Also interesting was one time during a QA, I asked an engineer from the 90s why certain projects sounded darker, sonically. The response was that the engineer disagreed. It's probably because I didn't understand how to ask the question correctly, but Dave and Scotty explaining how the boards were setup incorrect on purpose. What an eye opener. And that was just one example. Explains why from 2005 on a lot of Prince music sounds amazing directly from Paisley. Thank you and the teams!
What a shame that the heirs have nobody that they can be truthful/honest with them and guide them in the right direction. Greed is taking over.

Prince has done so much for people. And nobody wants to find the truth about what happened to Prince. The rest of the family just see money and they don't care about anything else. Four years and still no answer. Love you Prince forever... 😍💜💛
I’m just listening to what was said my heart goes out to Prince family and his estate. But with all what he went through you just could have imagine what they would do after he passed. His family would be taking advantage of.

Thank you, excellent! I have my own Scotty story, which doesn't even involve him. During the 'Earth Tour'/21 Nights in London, waiting in line at the after-show, Prince turned up at in the Silver Benz that chauffeured him about during that tour and spoke to a few of us through the car park fencing. Later that night, emboldened by my brush with fame I struck up a conversation with the FOH man in the Indigo club (its right in the thick of the crowd)... it went.. 'so you must be Scotty' (known to me from the name checks from ONA and the Aladdin DVD), the guy looks at me and says 'No...there have been a few since him' 😂
