    Yup! 💯💯 Bent right wrist means a flat left wrist which is golfing alignment #1. That means club face control. The ball starts its journey at 90 angles to the club face at separation. It's imperative in controlling the club face to have a flat left wrist. The best players know this. A flat left wrist and bent right wrist also allows for complying with the "law of the flail" and ensures proper "rhythm" in addition to acceleration control which translates to distance control and clubhead lag. Great video, pro!

    IMO, very good lesson. One thing I would add: in the transition in the down swing, to get the club to drop down into the slot, you have to sit down into the left (lead) heal, then pivot (or rotate) through the swing. If you just pivot, you gonna hit some pull hooks and slices. Watch videos of Tiger's transition and you will see him sit into that left heel as the club drops. All other info in this video lesson is spot on!

    Thank you for this video. Exactly what I needed. I recently bought the expensive precision impact gadget for my right wrist but haven’t gained anything from it. Using it with this explanation of how the pivot keeps the wrist in place is perfect. I was trying to keep the thing on my wrist and hitting balls but the pivot was missing so of course it was useless. I can actually see now that the underside of the ball isn’t at the bottom of my swing but in front by about 2”. That’s quite a pivot. I’ve been doing it wrong for 10 years because I didn’t want to damage the grass or my hands! I used to manage to clip the ball nicely off the fairway probably three times out of ten! With your explanation it’s working most of the time plus the divots are there and I hardly feel the club hitting the ball and it goes higher. Hello proper low point! Thank you again for a straight forward explanation!!

      Hi Mike, how are ya brother, hope all is well, i have a question, when I bend my right hand back in my backswing, I understand I maintain the bend in my wrist, but here's my question I don't understand, on my downswing, when do I release my right arm and extend my arm and elbow to get and power or distance at impact. If my right arm is bent at impact, I am not getting any power, greatly appreciate it if you can get back to me Mike, thank you brother.

    • @BrisGolf
      @BrisGolf  Před 7 dny

      @@earllechleitner9259 Good question Earl. Your right arm will not be bent at impact. The right arm will straighten as you approach impact at the elbow. The right wrist will remain bent through impact. As this is happening the left arm should be rotating, which will drag the right arm over the left, keeping the face square. After impact the right wrist will flatten during the rotation. Again, power will come from the pivot. I hope this helps.

      You have to square the clubface with the back of the left hand. You need to feel like the knuckles of the left hand turn down towards the ground, and the back of the left wrist is facing the target. You are having a very common issue and it is an easy fix. Maintaining the angle in the trail wrist also promotes a de-lofted club head (more distance), prevents you from casting into an early release and also helps to keep the clubhead square to the swing path. Like the video shows, you must commit to the swing and rotate the body for the club to get back to the ball square and flush. Over all this eliminates a lot of hand action, flipping and twisting of the hands. Master this and your accuracy, distance and consistency will greatly improve.

    • @BrisGolf
      @BrisGolf  Před 10 dny

      Yes, but most peoples lower bodies move. It is the chest and upper body that doesn't then follow. Keep the chest and shoulders turning and the lower body tends to do right. Great question and thank you for the comment.

    • @BrisGolf
      @BrisGolf  Před 8 dny

      Bryan, the speed comes from several factors. 1. the speed of your pivot. 2. the fact that a forward leaning shaft is an accelerating shaft. 3. the club head is being released in the proper way, not being flipped through impact. Trying to whip the club head through impact usually results in power loss. Thanks for the great question.

      Sorry it didn't work for you, but I don't understand your comment. Why did a flat plane cause you to hit a hook? And why did a bent right right wrist cause a closed club face? Just curious. Thank you for the comment and watching.

    Didn't Joe Dante recommend this in his 1962 book?

      @@BrisGolf The book is still available. "The Four Magic Moves to Winning Golf". He taught to start setting the wrist at the very start of the backswing and to have it complete by the time the shaft is parallel to the ground on the backswing, and then to just hold it through the rest of the backswing.

      Cool. I will have to see if I can find a copy. Thank you for the information. Make sure to watch my new series called "Be A Golder". I think it is going to be really good.

    Unconventional. Isn’t the right hand supposed to roll over the left on the DS? I see no follow through. Like all pro golfers finish the swing with the club held over the head, pointing down along their back.

    • @BrisGolf
      @BrisGolf  Před měsícem +1

      Not unconventional, it is necessary. The right hand doesn't roll over the left until after impact well into the forward swing. This drill is training the right hand through impact, so there is a little exaggeration, but not much. Lastly, look at a golfers finish and then your description. Hands are not over their head nor is the club pointing down their back. hands would be more around and over their left shoulder with the club behind their head, looking like it is going through their ears. Thank you for the comment and watching my video.

    Hopefully this guy will talk for over 7 minutes & show us the swing for around 23 seconds of the video.

      Maybe if you're a guy who has been flipping his hands or letting the club head get passed the hands at impact his whole life, and you've watched hundreds of videos of instructors telling you to hit the ball before the ground, and give you a drill like, for example, put a towel behind the ball and don't hit the towel, without any explanation of how you're supposed to achieve that, you might appreciate a good explanation for once. Oh but I'm sure I've lost you already because my comment is too long for ya.

    Talks like a politician, talks a lot but really doesn’t get to the point. This move is explained by every teacher much better than he, it’s called “The Magic Move”
