  • At her mother-in-law's funeral, a woman accidentally overheard a conversation between two elderly neighbors and froze in shock when she learned her husband's secret.
    #storiesfromthebox #cautionarytale #liveyourbestlife #sadstory #familystory #kindstory #sadlovestory #audiostory #amazingstory #lifestory
"Just imagine," Heather said, her eyes wide with indignation. "My mother-in-law used to visit us unannounced, as a surprise! And as soon as she entered the house, she would immediately check if the rooms were clean. She even used a white tissue to check under the bed! If she found even a speck of dust, she would run up to me, pointing her finger in my face, and shout, 'What a shame! You haven't vacuumed in a year!' And that's not all! Then she would rush into the kitchen to inspect everything, opening the refrigerator and loudly exclaiming, 'How old is this soup? Did you make it yesterday? Are you crazy? Tom should only eat fresh food!'"
Heather imitated her mother-in-law in a nasty, high-pitched voice. Despite the overall horror of the situation, it was impossible not to laugh.
"After that, she would meticulously inspect the bathroom and toilet, making sure the toilet bowl was spotless, the towels were snow-white, and then she would check how her beloved Tom's shirts were hung in the closet, making sure they were properly ironed." Heather continued.
"What a nightmare!" Connie sighed, relieved in her heart that she was incredibly lucky with her own mother-in-law.
Not even in her worst dreams could Connie imagine Florence raising her voice at her or saying anything rude or impolite. Her mother-in-law was always surprisingly delicate and tactful. She never pressured Connie about grandchildren, even though Connie's own mother would constantly bring up the topic.
"Connie, when are you and Robert going to have children? It's about time! I want to babysit my grandchildren!"
At family celebrations and gatherings, numerous relatives, aunts, great-aunts, and grandmothers of distant relatives would also press Connie, without any hesitation in their comments.
"Connie, when are you going to get pregnant?! You're not getting any younger! How old are you? 27? I already have my third child at your age."

Thank you for another wonderful story. Julie was a conniving witch, seducing a drunk man, someone else's husband, how terrible she was to do such a thing, unfortunately karma got her. The poor children losing their mother, but now they have a truly loving mother and father that love each other and the children. I'm happy Robert and Connie reconnected and now are living happily with their children. Thank you again. I love all of your stories and watch them over again while waiting for the next one. The way you articulate and change your voice for each character is amazing. God bless you dear lady. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍 10 thumbs up for your stories and channel

Again, a nice life story I enjoyed to the end. In a marriage without children, it is rare that spouses stay together. At least that is what I saw in life. Sad, but that's life. Those couples should adopt or foster a child and then it is like their own Thank you dear narrator for telling us all kinds of stories.

I definitely agree; I could never trust a man that cheats; sober or drunk!! You can’t have a marital relationship for years without knowing your wife’s body, her smell, etc; it was an excuse!! Since Connie loved her MIL, he should have been with her for comfort & understanding!! Choices do have consequences!

That’s no excuse. After nearly five decades of marriage, I am still more in love with my wife with each new day. His adultery is his fault and his alone. He chose to stay and become drunk to the point of oblivion and he also chose to defile his marriage. All of us go through times of trauma and loss. Many times we find ourselves alone because of circumstances that we either caused ourselves or just because things happen to cause those situations. My Precious Wife was very ill when my mother died. They too were very close and loved each other dearly but my wife was too ill to make the long journey to my mother’s funeral. I was grief stricken and by myself but I never once considered getting drunk and bedding a whorish woman. We live in a society that has lost it’s moral compass and making excuses for those who make immoral choices is sinful in itself. Making people stand accountable for their immoral actions is not being mean. On the contrary, it’s what they need to see what changes they need to make in their lives. Otherwise, they will most probably continue down their path of filth all the way to the fires of hell.

  • @PatriciaR.E.
    @PatriciaR.E. Před 5 měsíci +8

Personally, I couldn’t & wouldn’t have taken him back. He should have been with his wife & instead chose to stay & drink until he was drunk. After many years of marriage, a man knows his wife’s body! I can’t believe she took him back after he defiled their marriage. Connie warned him about Julie, & Robert assured her that he had no interest in her. If all it takes is to get drunk in order to have an affair; then Connie was the last thing on his mind. He committed adultery; drunk or not. He sinned against not only his wife, but against God! All of a sudden after Julie died, he ran into Connie & just that easy, she chose to forgive him to the point of remarrying him after all he did,& the intense hurt he caused her!! Sounds like he just needed a mother for his children, which shows by Connie not being able to conceive them for him. He defiled his wife & his marriage! What a shame & so very sad; worse yet; she took him back! It wasn’t the children’s fault, but it wasn’t her responsibility to raise children that were born out of her pathetic husband’s sins. His excuse was flimsy & Connie bought it hook, line & sinker!! As the Bible puts it, “it’s like a dog returning to his vomit.” 🤢
If he hadn’t done this; it would have been a beautiful story. However; nowadays nothing should surprise me!!
Lord bless you & I pray you & your family are doing well. Love, Pat ✝️🙏💓🌷

He did not run to Connie immediately after the death of the children's mother. It was 2 years later that Connie met them by chance. He did not even marry Julie, and did not want to divorce Connie. She was much at fault; for after his mother's death not being willing to listen to his explanation of what had happened; for pushing for the divorce; as well as for trying to hook up with different strange men.

✨An enjoyable story, with heart AND a simply crafted yet especially lovely ending.👏
With respect to @clydeannemauldin, I disagree a) entirely with the "boring" part, & b) somewhat with the "told in less than half the time" part….
    a) this story both develops the characters overall, and adds insight into details about their thoughts and motivations; and it's all done in a natural way… not at all intrusive or breaking the flow of the narrative. Sure, people can tell a story in more than one way, yet to say that this was "boring" is imposing one's own pov or even one's own time limits on the story… instead of receiving the narrative on its own terms and style.
(Eg., novels, though a different genre than a short story, could be charged with similar criticism. »Grapes of Wrath« or »Moby Dick« could certainly be written in half their length, yet that wouldn't make them any better, just merely shorter, plus depth and insights would be cut.
Now, I'm Not at all suggesting that this story is any kind of literary masterpiece. The point is: the >length< of any story is Not the key to how interesting it is OR, even less, to how good it is. The interest and quality of any story depends rather on >how well it's crafted.<
    b) While I agree >partly< that this story could have been shorter, the "less than half the time" claim entirely ignores any matters of quality and style of the narrative, as I briefly pointed out earlier.
To be more specific, the concluding part of the story, beginning @43'21"ff, so ±18min of narrative, flows naturally and leads to a simple, yet genuinely lovely ending, which is entirely in sync with the earlier parts of the story. Again, that whole portion is just over 18 min. long. Cutting any of that 18 min. would lessen and detract from the flow and lovely quality of the ending.
So, to fit @clydeannemauldin's "less than half" goal, the whole preceding part of the story would have to be cut from 43min down to 11min. Now, THAT would in all probability be a significant and artificially shortened abridgement of the development of the story. It's >possible< though highly unlikely to be done well.
🔸👍👍Honestly, I do NOT think that ANY of TrueLoveandOtherFables stories 'drag on' or are padded with irrelevant details. My opinion is that they're overall rather good, some especially so, both in how they're crafted and in heart. AND-Big Plus-the narrator is a major part of the equation in making the whole experience more enjoyable!👍👍
    Thank-you-dear narrator.
