I’ve got the XR and love it. Super happy with the shocks and the ride. Sure I’d like to have the Fox branding on my shocks but I’m not convinced they are better. Mine rides perfect. Also, not a big deal but I’m pretty sure that’s a 2021 because the front seats only have the one stitching across the bottom pad, the video title says 2022. Thanks for all your content, it definitely helped when I was ordering my 392 last Nov. received it this June. Funnest vehicle I’ve ever owned.

Exactly guys! Doesn’t matter which one, cuz there is only 1 392. You get this for the factory 392 engine already in it.
I own a 392 and 3.6 XR. The 392 is for fun and special get aways. The 3.6 XR is a for a fun daily. Either one you choose, it’s a fun ride.

If you plan to keep it stock go with the XR. If you're going to build it go with the standard so you don't pull 90% of the XR package off.

@@karlleleu6425 I really haven’t looked hard at an XR I imagine it’s about .5 higher than the standard 392 I could be wrong but the only thing that I think helps the height overall is of course the 35s. I just ordered 38x15.50 for mine with stock fenders and stock suspension and It might even fit haha

I would definitely choose which I already have I’ve just ordered one the standard 392 simply for the fact most jeap folks that have alot of experience with the JK and the JL minimum tire size would be 37‘s if you’re looking for a jeep that’s already done and you’re not going to modify it I would say yes the extreme recon package is good but for someone like myself that’s going to be running 39 inch tall tires And 3 1/2 up to 4 1/2 inch lift kit with very high-end shocks for example the fox 3.0 shocks which cost a little over $4000 the standard version is better also the tire carrier on the back is not up to par for carrying heavier bigger rear tires I think it’s OK for a 35 inch tire but if you’re going bigger you’re gonna have to pull that off and replace it , it does come with better gearing on the extreme recon package which I think would be good up to 37 inch tires but I can put new gears in the differentials in one day and it’s not going to cost that much money so if you’re looking for a stock jeep that will do alot The extreme recon package is good but if you’re going to modify it buy the standard one because you’re pulling everything off anyway. Thanks for the video👍

Hello, Ben! Ae you sure, that 392 XR has more lift then regular 392? It looks not very tall. May be it has standart XR-package suspension, because of this the shocks are usually Jeep's, but not Fox?

I don't know if the 392 is worth it the cost. However I still like the pinstar 6 better than the V8 because you still have some zemblance of mileage.
The other factor is the V6 fits better underneath the hood so you can put other toys in there without taking off the engine panels.

You can always put larger tires and you have clearance. But adding lift you lift body and pumpkin will stay in the same place where it was. So will have same clearance. When you add larger tires then you rise clearance because pumpkin go up.

$89k with almost 8k miles; it's a bit high for a non-XR model. But I guess I'm here for the Jeep 392 content until I get my new 392 😆
Thanks for making me feel better about my decision to getting the “regular” Gobi 392, as I will probably just go over the Starbucks curb, with the occasional mall crawling 😂

No, he was incorrect in what he said. The 392 is taller than a regular Rubicon and the same height as any Rubicon with the XR package. The 392 already has the lift that the XR package would give a regular Rubicon. The regular 392 suspension is softened in the back over a regular JL , but I don’t know if they did the same on a 392 with the XR package.

I went with the XR package as I didn't want to have to piecemeal putting 35s and gearing. I don't plan to do any other modifications and liked that I could get it the way I wanted it from the factory. However, if you plan to do your own wheel/tires, gearing, and other major mods that many jeepers do, the XR package might not be worth it.
I absolutely love my 392. Very fun to drive. A ton of character. The "farts" when you get it on it in offroad+ are hilarious.

The lack of pricing in many of your videos really hurts your credibility as reviewer IMO (going back to your video on the state of the industry).
It makes you seem beholden to the dealerships (them not wanting their price "premiums" broadcast out) and, subsequently, that your opinions/impressions are biased based on maintaining those dealer relationships, not independent, and more "measured"/less authentic.

    • @BenHardyCars
      @BenHardyCars  Před 2 lety +1

Dealership online prices can change on a daily basis, so I don’t want to say a price in the video for a used vehicle and then that price no longer be accurate.

That's a really weak excuse as:
      a. you DO put prices in some videos
      b. if you are worried about it, all you have to say is, "this is the price at the time the video was shot, but keep in mind that prices are always subject to change"

For the life of me, I don't think I will ever understand this response when a critique is well intentioned and presented in good faith. I could not imagine responding in such a manner each time someone offered a valid criticism (be it work product, personal behavior, etc).
      >why don't you do it then?
I would hope that people take all 'critiques' under advisement (who is the messenger, what is the intent, do they raise valid concerns) and then proceed accordingly wrt making changes or staying the course. Instead, at least in my experience, most people go into defensive shell mode and then seek out the echo chamber of validation.
