- Zeus presents Rambo Music & Footage (un-emulated) for the C64. Classic loading music from the golden era of C64 gaming which must not be forgotten alongside the software house and all programmers that were involved in making this game.
Year of release: 1985
Fantastic music which is the main reason for me uploading this, certainly aint because i'm good at it,...i'm totally shit!!! But included a bit of footage of me getting wiped out quickly anyway lol.
Hope all you C64 fans enjoy this upload.
Please note: NONE of my game uploads are emulated in any way whatsoever, they are 100% original recordings by myself taken directly from the original hardware the game was intended for, that way you know you're watching the real thing.
I will also always state weather i am using any cheats in the game, if not mentioned then i am not using any.
Check out my channel ( / zeusdaz , dedicated to gamers who loved the games of yesteryear.
Switch to 480p for best video quality and feel free to leave comments on my channel and vid's.
Keeping the memory of the C64 and it's cool games alive!!! - Hry
I always felt this was one of the best game soundtracks of any 8-bit game
Agreed. It’s stood the test of time. Electronic magic.
I used to load games back then sometimes just for the music, it really was stunning for it's time and Rambo is one of the best despite rarely being seen in the top C64 music lists.
My cousin gave me his c64 with a very big box of Datasette games in 92` and this was my absolutely favourite game and soundtrack.Sometimes i found me laying on the floor just listening to these beautiful SID chip sounds .The soundtracks are almost more special to me than the actual gameplay^^
I lost count of the number of C64 games I had which I loaded purely for the music! 🤣
Yeah mee too.I did it with the gameboy later too^^.Just start a game and listening to its music to fall asleep.Brilliant memorys.Sometimes today i listen to Slay Radio to fall asleep ,you should check it out =)
Agreed!
I'm 54 and remember when the higscore-music started to play. It just took the breath out of me. And still do.
Same here
3:31 I remember this bit of the music from when I was a teenager in the mid-1980s. It still stops me in my tracks and makes me feel like I am going back to that exact time. That ever happen to anyone else?
yes
My thoughts exactly.
yep
Totally there back in my friends bedroom waiting for him to come back up after he has eaten his tea !!! - amazing :)
A few thousand listens as a kid...caused my current search :)
From what power in home computers had then and from what the C64 composers gave us is like having $10 or £10 and investing it and coming back with 10,000,000. That is how amazingly talented the composers and game makers were in those days.
I take my hat off and bow to these great human beings! Thank you for giving me a childhood never to forget.
Oh by the way this is my favourite music, probably in any game I have played. Thanks to Martin Galway and also to Jerry Goldsmith.
It was a special one off time for computer composers. Ironically when the commodore Amiga came out with a much better sound chip, music was never done as well as the 8 bit compositions. It seems with the 8 bit limited capability it brought the best out of programmers and muscians alike.
The GREATEST THEME
Limitations sometimes better than the opportunity to do everything.it brings out creativity very strong.Anyway thanks for your words couldnt say it better .This is my favourite tune of all c64 games too.
Listening to this great music right now.
My C128 was hooked up to an amp.
I would play this almost every day, all day. Drove my mom nuts 😂
When the loading music was better than the game itself - brings back memories from the early 80s
Boy, my generation sure had some patience.
Golden days.
:D we had to
But not constant advertising!
I guess we didn't have a choice... you wanted to play a game, you had to wait! 😁
This and commando were my fav go to's on our 64
Ah, back when loading the game was almost as enjoyable as playing it!
Wasn't that the case of most C64 games ;-)
Maybe not the best C64 game, but definately the best music.
woow i was 10 years old , i remember this was a megacycle moment, i never imagine that my c64 could produce such a divine sound music
I can still see myself as a kid listening to this music coming from my then awesome C64😁
F'n Galway! Spent more time listening to this intro than playing the same, same with Parallax. OCEAN
Oh yeah. I could listen to parallax until the tune finished, sort of. That was about 10 minutes or so before it started again. The game was okay too. Very hard if you didn't have the manual and a clue :)
Such was the British talent in composing music, with one or two exceptions internationally (Jeroen Tel and a few others) the UK was a powerhouse in games development and music, and still is today in many areas. The bedroom programmers and composers was a true revolution! Nostalgic!
Martin Galway really started it all off when it come to pushing the SID, and still holds up today...so much passion in these tunes.
I still remeber this magical moment when the amazing nusic with this uniq dound start, it's like the c64 is sudenlly came a live and got personality , and you all with expectation waiting what will came next...i want to cry.... i simply fale in love my c128 .. it was so advanced back old time to hear this reach powetfull sound and graphic
Yep along with Target Renegade, Rambo II has a brilliant soundtrack.
This music is awesome!
Childhood,come back!
I remember seeing that image as a kid going "That is SO realistic, how the hell did they even do that???". Why is there sadness to nostalgia?
Because its a reminder of what was and many youthful years gone.
One of the all time great SID tunes. Shame the game itself wasn't all that ;(
With the occasion of the new Rambo movie of 2019 (Rambo Last Blood) I watched all Rambo films. For me now is clear how Martin Galway put talent and really great passion on these tunes, at the point that emotion I get from these tunes is even superior (for me) from that I feel from the original soundtracks.
3:31 goosebumps!!! ... hell, i miss the time i had my C64 and all the games
the pixelfilltime is the speed of datas loading with datasette VC1530 - 1986 i saw this first at home from" Much Viewi" - i will never forget this screen sound on his tv.,the last before i ride home with my bike. saved for all time in my mind.
Still the greatest home computer of them all
Yours is a work of love, a feeling that I´m happy to share. Good for me I found your CZcams channel!
I play these and other c64 and arcade games now on my laptop to relive my childhood. (Don't forget : Impossible mission )
Since then, my Xbox isn't used anymore.
New games just never interested me as much.
C64 Memories when they was best.
Remember this game from c64 Hollywood pack with Miami vice .. Platoon .. Etc .. Got goose bumps!!!
Cracking soundtrack, shows off the SIS beautifully.
Skidrow is still using this in their todays releases. Classic SID tune
Thank you for posting this. Lot of good and frustrating memories with this game lol.
Can complete it now in under 3mins! I would have hated that back in the day if I had bought it lol.
when it started sounded like kraftwerk...
This game was well hard. What a blast from the past. Awesome.
My bro knew the cheat that allowed the heli to outrun the Russian gunship! It was the easiest way of escaping at the end.
i loved these games the chopper section was soooo hard at the time..lol
Use two joysticks. Then, in the last chopper section, pull one stick forward and the other back (might be the other way around).
@@MrKneeoh76 THATS THE ONE! LOL
There's a trick to it; just zigzag the helicopter the whole way, and your done! Just zigzag evenly.
Great recording. I beat this back in the day (after many attempts) and man what fantastic tape loader and in game tunes.
Yeah I did a speedrun of it without cheats on my channel if you check it out, I beat the game in 2m59s!
I wasn't great at all games, fighting games I was terrible at. But this game, it's a 1-2-3-done to me. It's become second nature. Still remember exactly what to do to this day. Same as with goonies.
Awesome upload. Obscure classic. Thanks.
56 seconds to 1 min 33 seconds is musical heaven !
hatte das spiel als tape game , auf der rückseite der kasette war der original titel theme vom film :D die sid version is auch mega
This is how good the c64 was music as good as this on a home computer in the 1980s
Maaan... this music/theme..all day...everyday
Respect for al the old programmers in asmbler who make this computer games in the past
I never forgot about this lovely game!!
This brings back memories. I played the shit out of this game as a kid and was a favorite. The soundtrack for it is so unforgettable too. It may be mostly first blood, but it's like also like a jam sessions where they ran wild and creative with it, which was great. To me this game showcased the SID chip nicely.
Another Masterpiece from Mr. Galway. Ocean got big luck to had him on their side.
Still play this game today.what a belter.we are C64......
Somewhat low audio resolution - I don't feel the SID!! Thanks for uploading though, great tune. Nostalgia guaranteed.
8-bit magic in its purest form.
Especially that soundtrack.
I own all the Rambo.games from this one for commodore 64, the Rambo nes, Rambo 3 for the sega megadrive and as mentioned in last message the Rambo game for ps3. When me and my mrs go to Scarborough i was aleays go on the Rambo arcade they have there its fantastic!
Andrew Pheasey Yes looking forward to RAMBO V as felt the closing credit music on the last Rambo film felt it was gearing up for another, do you own the fantastic tin dvd box of all 4 Rambo films?!...my prize posession as far as my dvd collection goes, but replaced the naff NTSC colour versions with the PAL ones in the box,...it was only released in a cardboard box here in PAL land so used the American tin box for my PAL discs.
Ah Rambo III on megadrive, uploaded in full on my channel, in fact I will be uploading a "let's play" of it in a few days so keep an eye out :-D
You missed the 2 best tunes, when you rescue all the prisoners and when you get the chopper.
GET TO THE CHOPPA !
You must under no circumstances engage the enemy! Uh...
Amazing game! Love Rambo. Got the ps3 game. Can't understand why people slated it i throughly enjoy it. I own alot of Rambo merchandise from posters to t-shirts, figurine etc. Can't wait for Rambo Last Blood next year!
very competitive stuff for young child C64 / patiently waiting to load tapedeck
Masterpiece
Thanks for this!
7:13 _Rambo II - _*_MAIN THEME_*
Jerry Goldsmith meets Martin Galway. What could be better? :-)
...3 steamy up-for-it babes wanting nothing but you and to do anything you want?! ;-)
epiccccccc
this brings back memories
That's what this channel does ;-)
i LOVED this game!!!...and getting chased by the russian hind helicopter was EPIC!!...Great upload m8...:)
Yeah it has a great soundtrack, I'll be uploading the game in full soon :-)
Please sub for future new vids and livestream notifications :-)
i remember the cheat for the hind level,
2 joy sticks one forward one back turbo boost across the sea
Takes me back, its the SID chip that got me into electronic music.
That's what this channels about, zooming back 25+yrs and bringing memory tears ;-)
ZEUSDAZ - THE UNEMULATED RETRO GAME CHANNEL
love this straight back to being 8yrs old again :) thankyou
No probs :-)
Martin Galway. The best Musican for me on the good old Friend C-64
Blasting this out of a Sony Shake at maxxxxxximum decibels.. God bless my neighbours souls.. It's got to be done.
Amazing song!
Great soundtrack throughout.
Among the all time top 5 battle music heroes.
So many memories of this game, but as others have stated, its the music, not the game itself. I love every track and enjoy the game from time to time but its short to say the least and doesn't have that 'one more go' factor.
Yep, one of the most memorable soundtracks ever on the C64, fantastic!
Thanks very much, i'm glad it you're enjoying it, i'm sure there's plenty more uploads on my channel that you'll enjoy :-)
A real orchestra should cover this if one hasn't already.
2020 and still loving the key change at 0:22
Is there any way to know the history of this piece of music? I always thought it was part of the Rambo OST, but it seems that it's not a Jerry Goldsmith composition...
I love this tune! It breaks my 6502 emulator :( but i am working on it
SID Tunes never die.
Brilliant
Music just rocks nads!
Couldn't agree more! :-)
Genius
Certain things never die
Dear God, what chance did we have...this drilled into us hour upon hour....getting groomed for a life of tech'ers and disco biscuits
What's a disco biscuit?
Stone cold classic.
Some of the inbetween harmonies could be from MUSE. They should do a cover of some sort😸
7:13 I love this bit, but I don't know what song it's based on.
Nostalgia
Agreed.
3.35 : Hall of Fame
Martin Galway. A Genious!
No problem :-)
What a memmories❤
Uses ennio morricone theme here
The ultimate ocean loader
♥
amazing SID tune, one of Martin Galway's best ;) 13:17
Yeah this game has cracking music.
The high score song is lovely. No fancy tricks.. just 3 emotive little voices.
ROB HUBBARD SAID BEST SID COMPASSION EVER HE IS RIGHT
15.10 triple tune
There should have been a game based on First Blood with Rambo, equipped with his knife, machine gun and fighting skills, taking on Teasle and his men.
That would have been interesting would probably have been terrible being computer games back in 1982 were preety bad.
Martin Galway you legend
I remember the good old times the 80s 😁😂👍
Yep magical if you were growing up as a youngster in them.
I played it around age 7 8 and it was very very hard to level.
6:35 at 1.25% speed is just great.
7:13 on is my ringtone.
Like if you remember waiting for your name to come up on screen even tho you were the only person to ever play it
i would have loved a first blood part one game:)
+AlmightyMan01
Well if it had this kind of soundtrack then I would be very keen on seeing it.
Game was ok but superb music
Drinks by Brews Lee lol
1:34 despacito
I am still going full John Rambo on battlefield 4.
+Soma874
Just behave yourself and make sure you don't hurt anyone ;-)
I used to love my c64. I remember once writing a song then programming it in machine code and vast amounts of pure data, lists of numbers between 0 and 255. Also made a porno game where you had to guide a little man to catch and fuck a fleeing woman. Teenage fiascos lol.
Gus Flannagan lol!
Anyone know why c64 games wouldn't load and then load when you literally did the same thing each time?
Yep it was called the 1980s 🤣👌
