Lyrics
Growing up isn’t something we can make happen when we want it to
But since we’re all growing up together I guess I’ll grow up
with you
We can take turns taking the reins
Lean on each other when we need some extra strength
We’ll never cave or we’ll never waver
We’ll always become braver and braver
We’ll dance like nobody’s there
We’ll dance without any cares
We’ll talk bout problems we share
We’ll talk bout things that ain’t fair
We’ll sing bout things we don’t know
We’ll sing to people and show
What it means to be young
And growing up
Under the table, we’ll whisper
in each other’s ears
We’ll share our hopes and dreams, and all our other
greatest fears
And when we get burned from
jumping in the fire
We’ll never tire, cause we’ll
always find ways to fly higher
I make as many good memories as I can
When there are nights I can’t sleep, it’s okay in the end
I know what I do now makes
me me
Wherever we go, wherever we
go we...
We’ll take the good with the bad
All of the times that we’ll have
Make every moment last
We’ll have each other’s backs
Cause in the end we don’t know
We don’t know where we will go
We don’t know, so
There’s still a little more
Growing up

I heard this in FH5 and instantly fell in love with this
Me 2.
Me 2
😂 same
Their other song is on there too
Me 2
I’m another middle aged punk rock person who really appreciates the spirit of this band. I hear the energy of the Ramones, the Dishrags, the Blue Hearts, Bikini Kill, Shonen Knife and Afrirampo here. You kids are helping me get something really cool: punk music will keep regenerating itself long after people my age are dead and gone. It’s a comforting thought!
kinda weird how you gotta throw in some 'asian bands' at the end.
@@odakyuodakyu6650 Not sure what your point is. I listed 6 bands, 3 Japanese, 2 American and 1 Canadian. The Linda LIndas really remind me of a lot of punk bands here in Japan, so it's not 'weird' to list those. They named themselves after a Blue Hearts song and they met with Shonen Knife when they were here in Osaka last month, so it's not like this similarity is just something that occurred to me. Kindred spirit bands aren't all from the same countr, you know? I probably should have listed the Taiwanese band Ladybug too, as that's another band that the Linda Lindas really remind me of.
Also, I listed the Blue Hearts third of the 6 bands, so they aren't exactly 'at the end.'
@@mabewa you mention Shonen Knife and Afrirampo, completely different sound, however they are female and japanese bands, as always the shallow male gaze will make connections between musican based on gender.
of course all japanese now the blue hearts song Linda Linda. we dont consider it punk music here in japan. i think this band is carefully created pop band by record company Epitath. do you know Epitath, in america they created skater rock sound which is pretty boring music and ruined music in the 1990s.
@@odakyuodakyu6650 I didn’t say any of those bands *sounded* similar-to my ears, all 6 sound pretty different. I was talking about their energy (and really their spirit as well). I could have listed 20 bands from various countries and various genders, but I wanted to stick to bands that English-speaking people may be familiar with. Rata Negra, Beat Happening, Tacocat, Ladybug, Flop, Bam Bam, the Young Fresh Fellows, Otoboke Beaver, the Fastbacks, Cat Fight (貓打架)Jitterin’ Jinn, and the Go-Go’s also come to mind-those bands sound pretty different from each other too, but they share a similar spirit and energy. I hope it’s not a problem that some of those bands are Asian and many have female members. Or do we have to pretend that punk has always been white and male?
As for being female, if I was just thinking of female bands, I wouldn’t have mentioned The Ramones or the Blue Hearts. Not surprisingly, female punk bands tend to have something in common , especially when (in the case of the Linda Lindas with Bikini Kill and Shonen Knife) they have directly influenced each other). For the same reason, I’ve heard male punk bands all over the world that had a lot in common like The Clash. Nothing wrong with being influenced by other bands, as long as you do something original with your sound, as the Linda Lindas certainly are. Would you object to that too, or are we only not allowed to mention female bands having similarities with other female bands? Would you be happier if I only compared the Linda Lindas to male, Western punk bands?
And as for the Blue Hearts not being punk, that’s a new one for me. I was introduced to them by my wife in the 90’s and she and everyone else described them as a punk band at the time. I know that they were revered in the then-burgeoning Taiwanese punk scene. Not sure what generation you are, but I have lived in Japan for decades and seen hundreds of punk bands here, and I do not hear people disparage the Blue Hearts.
By the way, one thing that is massively refreshing for me about the Japanese punk scene is the lack of gatekeeping and people getting in pointless arguments about what is and isn’t punk. At least, that’s what it’s like here in Osaka, and I hope it stays that way.
@@mabewa hhhhmn. i think you have a narrow vision and to some of us its offensive.
Love your music listening for the first time I'm 63year old
I'm a 66 year old punk rocker. I love your music. Thanks for keeping the energy, spirit and dignity of the music alive.
I’m 68 and totally agree.

Lucia sure knows how to write a hook. This song is gonna be stuck in my brain all day!
It’s called an “earworm” and I get them all the time.
Yes!! Super pop X1E6
To be fair, I doubt they write anything they perform. But they sure can perform and definitely have a long career ahead of them.
I think Lucia is a star in the making, if she wants to be. She has the writing ability and the voice.
And she's a great vocalist to boot.
I finally found it,what a great song!
This playing at the beginning of Ruby Gillman was a great choice,it really sets the tone for the movie and Ruby’s character growth throughout it.
To me,this song will always be known as "Meet Ruby Gillman" because that's just it,we first meet our favorite saltwater sweetheart as she begins another day of school...or so she thinks!
Tienes toda la razon es un genero bueno y le callo bien a la pelicula
I'm here for the same reason haha, this song and "Oh" are goated
66 Years old here also. Age is just a number. You Girls ROCK!!! Love You all, don't stop, Changing, growing and Being You! God Bless You All!
What is amazing about the Lindas Lindas is their music draws people from all ages, yet without comprising their edginess. All substance. Pure rock and roll.
What edginess? This is the most generic derivative pop imaginable.
Man, just look at them. They are full of energy, youth, and dreams. That's why we call rock'n roll as young music.
I saw the Linda Lindas open for Jawbreaker last week and they killed it. Their energy was infectious and you could tell they were really, really enjoying the moment. I felt like I was witnessing these kids live out their dream and it was an incredible thing to witness.
They have serious Jawbreaker vibes. Love them.
Yeah, watching a bunch of privileged kids with connected parents achieve their dream is super duper inspiring. If only we could have more of THAT.
Okay, I have to admit, that closeup that showed their mascara matched their cat counterparts was my favorite. Absolutely adorable >w
I really love punk rock but i didnt know this band till i played Forza. You guys have some amazing tracks there, dont stop what you do!
I absolutely love this! As a 29 year old Asian American, I feel so proud and full watching these gals. They’re so badass despite being so young! It’s awesome, such a great sound, they’re very talented and I can’t wait to hear more!
"We''ll never cave or we'll never waver / We'll always become braver and braver" Best song lines I've heard in years ❤
Oh my Gosh, I love this song!! I am hoping I’m able to to see these incredible people live at the Saviors Tour!
This song deserves far more attention!
YES ‼️
After the next horizon 5 dlc it will be more famous:)
lollapalooza!!! 2023
Since they have 2 songs featured on Forza Horizon 5, it should help. That’s what brought me here
Ya tienen attention salio en pelicula como kraken ruby Hillman
Even if you’ve never been a punk rock fan you have to at least appreciate how fun this experience must be for these girls.
This song is really well produced and super catchy - I hope they just continue to blow up. 🤘🏻
@Diane Marie Who peed in your Cheerios?
@Diane Marie hey DM what's your beef with the LL's? Genuine question. Genuine interest.
I don't know why, every the Linda Lindas songs that Lucia sing for are always be my favorite.
Believe it's her unique way she transitions between words in the song, along with her great voice that somehow has a calming effect
She has the best and second best song
@Diane Mariesorry, but i don't ask u about this by the way.
@Diane Marie LOL your subscriptions. That's some great taste you have there HAHAH
Living every teenage punk band's dream. awesome song, lots of heart.
They just keep coming up with one terrific song after another.
Anit that the truth.
Banger after banger
I love the incorporation of kitties 🐈🐈, in this. 😎
LOVE THESE GIRLS!!!!🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌
Yass
Dang! I'm just moving my feet like in 1980. Rock on you punks...you rebels of Rock, the world needs more Linda lindas touring with the Idles. Making music that people hear for miles away. God bless.
listened to this song at the san diego paramore concert 07/16/2023 and fell in love with them ❤
Love this band.. I'M FANCLUB FROM THAILAND.
Love the music, the energy, the fun, the lyrics. Yes, this is coming from a 50+ old dude. Punk isn't dead, it's just doing homework.
this song makes me feel oddly nostalgic. Can't wait for the album to come out, I'm getting it on vinyl
That’s exactly how I feel too
i think it's because at 0:35 it sounds really similar to 'Wave of Mutilation' by the Pixies. I've noticed a lot of major labels are borrowing from the them recently.
nostalgic?? this is 2020 sound.
@@mynameismark25 The return of 90s alternative!!!
Saweet!! Vinyl is def the way to go with their punkish beat LOVE THEM SO MUCH
Some of the best music is being released during these difficult times. Enjoy it. Spread love and keep those spirits high! Love each and everyone of you.
Those girls will be HUGE someday
If they are making music like this at that age they definitely have a bright future ahead
61 and could have seen in Cleveland punk scene in 1982…great sound, 2 guitars, bass, drums…all you need!
I'm here for "Ruby Gillman: Teenage Kraken"
I love this song so much and the movie to!
Nice to see a young band that doesn't go for crappy pop music. Go girls you rock it.
I'm a huge fan of these girls from the first time I watched the library video. Every song I thought was my favorite as I listened. Then I heard them play this one at the Head in the Clouds festival and thought it was great. I heard it when it debuted the other day and then probably 20 times now and I hear so many uplifting and positive things each time.
The chords are really great. The little horn or keyboards in the chorus are such a great touch to make this song really soar. I loved "Oh" and "Monica" but this was has a special place.
What do you think about "Never say Never" (czcams.com/video/kTYvl0XgHOc/video.html)? 😊 It is also by Lucia. Of course, I love it so much😂. Her songwriting talent is just beyond my imagination.
Pure 90's. Music needs this sound today.
The world needs mor of this 🥰
They used this song in Quiz Lady too. I love how many times I’ve heard this song in movies this year
I really heard this now and I'm loving it like the perfect way to end the film
It’s also in Ruby Gillman, Teenage Kraken, during the opening scene.
Man...that's a really good song for a band of any age! This is the song fourteen year olds have been trying to write since rock and roll was invented.
This is exactly the type of music I want to listen too, at work, car, etc. I'm happy to see it coming back.. ❤️❤️
How the hell are these kids this damn good?!?!?! When I was a 16 year old punk kid, my bands were never this tight. These ladies kill it!
Brilliant - positive energy in a negative world - much respect.
Looking this band up in prep for a Green Day concert, they're gonna be a fun opening act. Solid Go-Gos sound with The Donnas mixed in too. They also remind me of White Reaper in the way that their sound feels like it came out longer ago than it did. Lookin forward to more from them.
Here for the Green Day concert too! Really love their music and also excited to see Rancid along with them.
These girls totally rock!
The Linda Linda's rock! My new favorite band 🐈😻
I am so glad to see youths such as these young girls make very acceptional punk rock music.
This is honestly my new favorite song, I play it every day
These 4 deserve more credit (and subs)
this song has been stuck in my head for 2 YEARS and I finally found it omfg. I love everything about this band so much 😭
Another outstanding track from this band. No stopping these guys !!!
this video is perfect for the song. so catchy. also the cats are everything 🐈💕✨
Love the Linda Linda’s
Epitaph - you are absolute savages for signing this group. Well done, now protect them with everything you got =]
They just keep getting better and better!
These young ladies took a classic sound and made it their own.
Rock on Linda Lindas🤘🤘🤘🤘
I love them so much!!
The best industry plants out there!
hermoso, se me erizo la piel y no es por el humo. Ganaron un fan, desde Argentina!!
I realy appreciate that you, instead of using the "sexy-schoolgirl-stereotype", present yourself as a bunch of just "happy-school-of life-girls" ... Great "old-school" punk-rock-vibe as well! Much craved-for positive energy! Thank you a lot!
They're.... kids... and this comment is a little creepy
@@sinson1307 perhaps you misunderstood my comment: in the sometimes messed up world of musical marketing "sexyness" is often used as a sales-tool even in very inappropriate contexts (ages) especially concerning girls, and I am glad they didn't fall into that trap - I really don't see what's creepy about that ...
@@eberryan They're kids, even suggestion they COULD be marketing so called "sexyness" as you call is a outworldly creepy suggestion, they're not 18 year olds, they're like 12-16
@@sinson1307 Sorry, you're so right: There has never been a "Britney Spears" or a "Miley Cyrus" before, and children have never been exploited in the music-industry ... How could I just come up with worryful thoughts on young musicians!? I really don't get your point, apart from intentionally misunderstanding people to call them out you "woke" troll!
SinSon missed the point of your comment. I definitely agree with your point
Every time I hear the Linda Lindas they make my heart full of joy. I’m a 61 year old life long rock/punk rock devotee and your music gives me hope for the future of rock n roll.
I'm 62 and this band is on a different level
my dad loves linda lindas and tbf i didnt even know about them.. Glad i do now!
I am an older guy..... you guys make me feel like i am in my 20s again. You give me hope for the future.
They been listening to a Pixies record?
@@tombeckett7567 maybe they have - other people have commented they liked the song. See what they think.
They are what keeps us older guys young !
@@dlkool4250 - Exactly!
I have to agree, Michael.
There is something about this band that captures the very "essence" of the early punk or indie-rock scene. Even though they are way too young to truly understand how fresh and exciting rock music felt in those days, a band of family and close friends playing music they wrote and clearly love -and playing the heck out of it - is immediately recognizable as the perfect embodiment of what made that bygone era so unforgettable to those of us who lived it. Also, it must be said : Eloise's vocals are punk as fuck on the songs she sings, which offer indisputable proof to anyone who questions these girls' punk-rock chops.
Another great hit from the Linda Lindas!😻🤘 Rock on, girls!💖💛💚💙
No lie this is good driving music. Heel toe downshifts are a vibe with it playing
i love this - it's amazing how the youthful energy and innocence still manages to shine so strongly through what is clearly a very heavily manufactured product - and of course it doesn't hurt if your dad's a grammy award winning producer...
Ah, I was wondering who’s dad was in the industry. Agreed though, they have huge potential, just wish it wasn’t so contrived
Oh man, this is soooo much FUN! Congrats y’all!! 🤘🤘🤘
This song gives me chills. SO GOOD
Grade live bei Rock im Park gesehen. Absolut Hammermäßig!!!!!
OMG! You guys are true Punk Rock girls. Love you guys😍
Great job, ladies! Keep rockin' out and havin' fun!!!
I'm hypnotized by the production quality of the clip. The camera shots with deliberate weird angles. How the camera cuts follow the fast beat at the end. The overall retro look.
Solid tune. 90's/00's punk sound. Made me think of the Strokes.
goated from fh5 unbelievable song
Great way to kick off the (lunar) new year! 🤘🐯🤘
Can't wait to see them in August ❤
Yeah ✊🏽✊🏽✊🏽
so cool this is at the end of quiz lady:') saw them live in denver in july they were awesome !
The next generation of rock/punk is in good hands 🤘🤙
I just turned 41 and been a punker since 13 (cut my teeth on Green Day, Offspring, NOFX, Pennywise, Rancid, etc). Thanks for keeping the genre alive, ladies. Rock on! 🤘🤘🤘
THAT sound is back! Excellent!
I ❤ them.
You gals just rock. Keep being 100% yourselves!
JOY RIDE! 💜

Linda Lindas are amazing. Turn the comments on all of your videos. The love will outweigh any haters.
favorite girl band, u guys kill it every time
Love this! I’m about to turn 20 soon and your song perfectly captures how I’m feeling along with some childhood nostalgia. ♥️♥️♥️
First time hearing this song is in the Ruby Gillman movie.
It really fits the main character and her personality very well.
LOVE LOVE the LINDA LINDA'S and the 60's punky beat they bring!! So awesome they have "their sound"you KNOW when it's a Linda Linda's song🤓😎🎶
I love this! Can’t wait for the whole album!!
God I love this song so much- had it on loop for days! Hi from the UK! 👍🏻
I walked into this with no idea what I'd find, and heard a song which made me think about the joy and discovery of seeing my three daughters growing up, and I love the fresh and open energy this song put out. Really fun track.
I need more Linda Lindas in my life!
Mindblowing! The quality of music you girls are producing at your age has sent shivers down my spine as I watched this, the first song I've heard from the Linda Lindas. Love the punk rock edge, you girls are so cool compared to what I was as a teenager, how do you do it?! Lots of love and support from New Zealand :)))
Congratulations of this song being in Ruby Gilman Teenage Kraken
They are such a great group of kids and a great group of artists! May they keep having fun and rocking on!
"Shot on the iPhone 13 Pro Max." Wow, that's pretty amazing.
Love this one! Takes me back to the days of my daughter's slumber parties. Excuse me for a sec... "Can you girls please stop laughing and go to sleep?!"
Teenage kraken ❤
Yup
For being young they sure know how to make some awesome music! Keep it up ladies!
I'm All In!!! 🎶🔥❤️🎵💞🌹
Such an amazing band!
