    Justin Gatlin is like a role model to me when I sprint Track. I always look up to him and he is my #1 favorite sprinter in track and field. Much love and respects to Gatlin!

    If I'm just breaking down his technique out of the blocks...he's got an amazing start and he holds form all the way through. No other sprinter drives his legs as low through this backside mechanics as Gatlin. It really is incredible to watch.

      Is it mainly long fast strides??.. because that's hard for me to do... what would you suggest me doing to get faster??... my 200m is a low 26-25 secs... but my 100m is a 12.987sec... do you consider that slow in the track world??? be honest....

      @ezrider3333 Před 8 lety +2

      More than anything, maximize your turnover first. Fast turnover prevents over striding which is the #1 speed killer. As long as your feet are landing under your hips and you minimize the length of time your legs are in backside mechanics, you will not over-stride and your times will continue to drop.

    My favourite sprinter by far! He commited fails in the past but learned the lesson and came back faster than never before.
    Justin Gatlin has the potential to beat the American 100m record, he has 9.7s in the tank that can be 9.6s with tailwind.

    What a great inspirational video.The music is great.I met Justin Gatlin at a night club in Pensacola FL.That's where he's from.I asked him what are you doing here?And he said something like I have to have fun to.I told him I was running the Pensacola marathon.He said that he was going to watch me run.Well I won that race.I hope he was watching.A few years later I learned that he was banned from running for using some drug.I'm glad hes back.My name is Alonzo.I hope your reading this Gatlin.

    • @santeenl

      MrLwhiteford He's obviously doping the hardest. Running these 9,7x times at age 33, total bullshit.

    • @richardjohnson909
      @richardjohnson909 Před 9 lety

      santeenl This guy has been caught TWICE cheating. There is no way at age 33 he could be clocking these unbelievable fast times if he were clean. He may not be so much doping the hardest but doping the smartest. There are new steroids on the market and new GH coupled with new maskings agents that the authorities cannot keep up with the cheats. It's chemical warfare out there on the track and laboratories are hard at work to give such cheats the cutting edge.

    • @santeenl
      @santeenl Před 9 lety

      Richard Johnson The smartest? He has been caught twice, he should be banned permanently!

    • @richardjohnson909
      @richardjohnson909 Před 9 lety

      santeenl Yes he has and that's what I have said. But he has obviously learned how to evade detection by being cunning in cycling new "juice" and ensuring up to date masking agents are used. There is no way Justin Gatlin could be running such fast times at 33 years old if he were clean. However, smart he thinks he is, do not be too surprised if the slippery fish slips and is caught for the THIRD time.

    He might be 'clean' now but the effects of the drugs he took are still in his body and am pretty sure he knows this...He probably even knew he would be likely to get caught the first time and be able to come back even better once he kept training (which he did). I dont even blame him for anything really...i blame the system more.

    I have a Hard time getting past him being busted TWICE for PED's........although , I Want to think he's learned from his mistakes and is 100% clean.....??....but it's tough to tell.
    One thing is for sure......Nobody has Won MORE 100's , in the past couple years than this guy. Although all those wins are Not featuring Bolt...( which is Kind of the Whole point )...but regardless , the Man is Blazing Fast.!!
    I will day this , I respect how After Every Race that Bolt beasts him......he Always seems a Gracious Loser and THAT says as Lot about his character. JMO.

    • @viperdude281
      @viperdude281 Před 9 lety

      My take on it is that a guy who has been busted twice for PEDs and who is having as much success as Gatlin must get randomly drug tested more than any other sprinter in the world. I truly believe that he is clean right now, which is a great thing to see in this sport.

    • @CUZdeathwins
      @CUZdeathwins Před 9 lety

      Trevor Stuart every sprinter does it man.. even if they don't get caught. Guarantee you the jamaicans do as well. I'm more saddened by the fact he was banned from competing for 4 years when he was in his late 20s and likely his prime. 30 years old running sub 9.8, who knows what he could've done when he was younger

    • @trevors5216
      @trevors5216 Před 9 lety

      Bane MAN I hear ya. Okay , here's a question , if every other sprinter ( or in your opinion , Every Sprinter ) is using illegal drugs to make them the fastest that they can Ever be.....and Catching them is SO hard or unlikely due to science and methods to hide these drugs , what if they just say ..." Fine , Sprinters can use these enhancements and then at least everyone is on an equal playing field. "..?? Of course I know that will never happen , but if people still believe that Most are still using......then WTH..??....seems sketchy as Hell to me. IDK.??

    • @CUZdeathwins
      @CUZdeathwins Před 9 lety

      Trevor Stuart I think that would definitely be the only way to ensure everyone is on an equal playing field. I don't know much about PEDs but I think most who get caught have been busted for high testosterone levels. I believe all sprinters and many athletes are taking testosterone supplements for their training, and try to get clean before they race at events. So getting caught just means you didn't go off them early enough or your masking agent wasn't good enough. When it comes down to it a race isn't decided by who's doping, rather who's had the best training. Drugs improve that, and everyone must do it to get the same level of training as their competition. Athletes (other than usain bolt) don't have much choice if they want to compete. I think the rules should stay the same but punishments should NOT be as extreme as they are. Maybe a 1 year ban for doping..

    • @trevors5216
      @trevors5216 Před 9 lety

      Bane MAN Exactly.... Well said. To ban a sprinter for 5-10 years is ridiculous...... Let alone a lifetime ban. Especially because the system can't possibly be 100% accurate , like you said , getting off them at the right time to assure you are " Safe or Clean "..!
      And let's be honest , Sprinters only have a " window " of time ...at which they are going to be competitive.. ( with the exception of that rare few who seem to possess Ridiculous Longevity ).....so Banning a Man or Woman for years upon years is Almost a Sprinters Death Sentence. I agree , the length of suspensions has gotten Too Steep.....as for Gatlin , perfect example. How fast Could he have been in his prime..??
      Good chatting..... Cheers
