My son's high school music teacher sang back up for some of Lionel's songs. This teacher was with his class one day & Lionel came strolling in. Lionel had a show & wanted the teacher for back up. The kids got tickets to the concert. No one new that their teacher was that good.

RUNNING WITH THE NIGHT - LIONEL RICHIE 1983 This Definitely should be your next Lionel song it's catchy it's groovy danceable and what an awesome voice. Plus the band plays some of the best instruments of all time. The perfect Rhythm with a little synth pop and Rock guitars that just add the perfect soulfulness. Highly recommend it
"Running With The Night" is probably my favorite from Lionel. Very underrated of his solo songs. But it must be the longer version...

Lionel Ritchie is so good he makes it sound so natural and easy, almost effortless. Don’t be fooled, it takes an incredible amount of work to sound that good. Fabulous artist. ✌️
I think Lionel Richie is one of the best song writers of my time, along with Dolly Parton and the Bee Gees. I had Lionel's Truly - The Love Songs CD with this song on it. The whole album is phenomenal. He even wrote Lady, which was one of the biggest hits for Kenny Rogers.
Lionel had so many hits in the 80's, including You Are, Se La, and the extremely underrated Love Will Find A Way. I hope you guys get a chance to react to all of those.
I dont think its underrated, I think it's not a particularly memorable song.

My 86 year old mother LOVES Lionel Richie. She has his Greatest Hits album (The Definitive Collection) and I was amazed. Because she’s not someone who listens to contemporary music. She usually listens to Classical and Broadway tunes. But Lionel captures her heart…😊

The love of my life use to sing this to me. Sadly he passed away 39 years ago at the age of 35. This song either brings me a smile or sometimes a tear, missing him still.
This may be my favorite Lionel Richie song! It’s certainly near the very top of a long, long list of great songs by this truly iconic singer! Saw him in concert in KC in 1984. It was AWESOME!!

I shouldn't say this but I dread the day Lionel is no longer with us as he is part of that generation that has gone; MJ, Prince, Whitney, Luther Vandross. He is just a legend with one of those voices you will never hear anything like again. May this legend of music have many more years ahead, timeless music.

I'm glad you finally returned to the greatest writer of love songs in the R&B/R&R era. Listen to him doing "You Are", "My Love", "Ballerina Girl", and "Truly" for more great songs that were big hits.
"Ballerina Girl" is one of his most beautiful and heartfelt songs and is one of my favorites of his. I heard that this song is a tribute to his daughter Nicole. I highly recommend reacting to this song.

His music reminds me of being a kid in the 80s and sharing a room with my sister who adored him.
Bummed out that he didn't play this song last week in Seattle. He just has too many to play in two hours. The first concert I ever saw, when I was seven years old. The Commodores, Halloween night, 1975. I went trick or treating earlier, so I still had my C-3P0 costume, which looked a lot like the outfits they wore onstage that night.

I actually learned of this song from the movie "The Sure Thing". I was 13 when the movie came out, then continued buying it on VHS then DVD, and still have it. I eventually bought this song when I switched to iTunes 15 years ago. Great song.

Lionel Richie can do no wrong. Singer,, Songwriter...he will always be the soundtrack of my youth.
As a kid, my mom had his album "Can't Slow Down", which had this song on it. She would play this one the most in her classroom as a 6th grade teacher after school grading papers and making lesson plans.
In the 70's & 80's people can talk about Michael Jackson and/or Madonna all they want. But Lionel Richie was a real hit maker. First with The Commodores, and then as a solo artist.
