I grew up with a mother who taught me: School clothes; Church clothes; Play clothes. The only thing that has changed in my adult life is school became Office clothes. Taking care of your things is an element of self respect!! No matter the cost!!

Hi Freddy! I really love your content but if I could make a suggestion, since you do have the budget now, could you maybe put together a guide to sustainable fashion? Even if itâs a bit more pricey, I would prefer spending a couple more bucks if it meant the items had a smaller impact on environment and that they werenât enabling social inequities.

Be careful with Shein- CBC marketplace just did a video on how dangerous their products are (lead 20xs what should be in clothes) PFAS which messes with hormones etc... and Justine Leconte showed how plastics particulates literally come off the clothes (breathing them in). There are plenty of high street/main street stores that make better stuff and (hopefully) don't involve North Korean slave labour.
@@LSSYLondon Was that on all the clothes??? I got a Revolve dupe dress from Shein that literally looks like it was made by the exact same place as the original... and it doesn't smell or feel weird or have plastic coming off of it?
@@ania5038 All polyester is plastic and all of them shed microplastics. Also the CBC video is on youtube if you want to take a watch.
If you want to be more sustainable you can also check many sustainable businesses. The more expensive ones have really nice things, especially when in comes to basics like knits, cashmere scarves, etc. And you would probably treat these purchases the same as your designer ones, because of the price. Just because something is expensive/designer doesn't mean that it was ethically produced. This is just a suggestion, I'm not criticising you at all, I'm glad that you are trying to be more sustainable and thought this might be a good idea
Iâm a big believer in getting the best you can afford. I have been a thrift shop,second hand girl for over 25 years. I have gotten beautiful Prada, Kate Spade, Burberry, and loads of other designer brands at thrift stores,ebay and of course Poshmark or depop. There is also a great shop called the real real. All second hand designer that has been checked out and authenticated.
The real real also gives you the opportunity to sell your luxury items

Freddy, have you ever dealt with clothes moths/carpet beetle larvae? I discovered these pests and have been deep cleaning everything. Or, has anyone in the comments experienced these and have any tips? I am quite exhausted and disturbed, but am thinking positively. I will eradicate them!
Every now and then, I have exactly one moth. I never had them when I wore polyester and synthetic clothing.
Now, that all of my tops are cotton and linen and wool and silk and cashmere, etc., I sometimes have one moth. I usually can capture it. Sometimes the one just goes away.
So far, so good. I just hope one never mates or lays eggs for babies.
If that ever happens, I will just google or search youtube on what to do about it. I do not use mothballs. They stink.
I saw a tiny hole on one of my cashmere sweaters. I stitched it. The end.
My next door neighbor had a moth infestation. She said it was from her wool carpet. She threw out so many things in her apartment. Then she bagged all her clothing. And cleaned them bag by bag.
So, you also probably got the moth from somewhere else and I hope you did not. Because that is a double problem. If that source is still around.
