The fabled Helm of Domination, the most iconic headgear in all of Warcraft history that dates all the way back to Warcraft 3: Frozen throne was just transformed in the Shadowlands into the very lame looking Crown of Wills.
This wouldn't be all that bad though but this is now no longer the helm of the Lich King but it is the crown of the Arbiter that was just recently introduced. Blizzard did actually in the Shadowlands give the most iconic helm in all of history to a very minor character that is Pelagos, in my opinion really damaging the legacy of Warcraft 3.

I mean, all i can say is wow. Just wow. They could've transformed the helmet into anything, anything at all. At least something similar like a purified version of the Helm of Domination. Like a Helm of Salvation, or a helm of freedom, even a Helm of Valour. The crown of wills was trash, it's bland it's not even unique. It does nothing but show just how lazy blizzard is, and i'm more disappointed than mad atp. For they continue to ruin what was once iconic in not just Warcraft. But for the gaming genre itself

That would have been more awesome. And I honestly had pictured Arthas becoming the new Jailer/Lich King to keep Zovaal or his remains locked up too. Both as an eternal penance, and a chance to take his equally eternal revenge for Zovaal utterly ruining his life so much. And pretty much being the root reason for why his kingdom ultimately fell, so he would be avenging his people and family too at the same time.
With the Helm of Domination and the rest of the Plate of the Damned (or at least modified versions) helping bind Zovaal. And a properly reforged Frostmourne being used to server the sigils from Zovaal for good too. I even pictured an ending being a callback to the endings of Wrath of the Lich King and Warcraft 3 the Frozen Throne to tie up everything too. With a repentant Arthas pulling a Bolvar as another callback.

He is so WEAK that he could not control his doubts, yet he is strong enough to decide on the faith of souls??? get out of here, Uther was so quick to judge Arthas and throw him into the maw, he should have learned his lesson and now judge the worth of everysoul that comes to shadowlands

Arthas was more concerned about not letting the Scourge get any more undead to control, and was trying to give the infected a merciful death too. But I think having Arthas as the new Jailer to watch over the truly evil souls and Zolvaal, or at least his remains, and his truly loyal allies, to make sure they never escape the Maw. Having him pretty much having the same ending as Illidan would have done Arthas much more justice than this mess Shadowlands turned out to be.

I didn't even remember who Pelagos was.... When I am thinking about who could be the new arbiter and wear this fancy crown I am stuck with three characters.
    1. Bolvar: lived a righteous life, sacrificed himself to wear the helm of domination and slowed down the jailer by not giving him control.
    2. Sylvanas: did some bad shit, now with her reunited soul, she knows what she has done und wants to make everything better and sacrifice herself blabla...
    3. if they want a character who played a part in the storyline of shadowlands, why not Alexandros Mograine?
He lived a righeous life, fought the undead and is a legendary paladin. In death he rose up the the rank of Baron, was betrayed and locked up in the maw. You could say he has seen some shit. This is a character with a storyline, alsmost as old as Frostmourne and the Helm of Domination themselves, he has a deep connection to these items and he would be fit to wear this crown. But nevermind, give it to Pelagos a guy nobody cares about and a guy we will probably never see again.

The Lore, for all its decisions (many of which I don't agree with), would have at least been competent and easier to follow if we had the background of major NPCs fleshed out. If they don't elaborate on the history of the Arbiter (including the Jailer's role) in 9.2, I'm not sure what the point is for all these random twists & turns (e.g. Argus, Pelagos, etc)??
We might not like how a story turns out, but that doesn't make it a bad story. Bad writing (e.g. characters lacking motivation, conflicting messages, plot holes, major retcons, etc) makes it a bad story.

I think this is one of the cases where the headcanon it's more acceptable. I mean, despite the retcons they made until Legion, it still was far more acceptable than what we are getting now. Specially considering that Chronicles _was meant_ to be the official story (and facts) from Warcraft Universe.
For some, the story finished in Wotlk. For others, in Cata. For me, it all ended in Legion, and BFA it's just an aftermath, or epilogue (isn't the same thing? Correct me please). Now it's just bad fanfiction, with the exception of it being unfortunately written by Blizzard itself.
PS: Since it looks like Sylvannas is getting the Kerrigan treatment (redemption and all), why not make HER the new arbiter and get it over with this shit? I mean, for those who already shat themselves, what problem is in farting a little more, isn't? At least is, well, more, _acceptable_ (not the best choice tho), given the conditions of the lore of Shadowlands.
PS 2: I really thought that, well, I think most of us, thought, that shadowlands would give the same vibe as WOTLK did. I was specially anxious in seeing Krexus in action........just to see him killed in mid-campaign.
No wonder some people are migrating to the other many private servers, or trying others MMOs like Final Fantasy 14.

His responses to the other Covenents perspective of the 'ideal arbitor' was pretty good. The more thought I put into it, the more certain I am that this is the type of person you would want judging souls.
    However.
    That said, as someone Pro-Pelagos...
The crown man. I wish they could have just had the Primus forge a new crown and left it separate from the Helm of Domination. I really would have rather them used the blueprints of the HoD to make this new one, as that story angle sounds good to me. And instead just reforging the HoD so that our Scourge could be contained on Azeroth.
Or did those few weeks of Scourge attacks count as them swarming the planet? Also, if we were afraid they would swarm the planet and destroy everything, why didn't we just mana bomb them? >.>

That honestly would be so much better. Using the original blueprints and repairing the helm, while using new materials and modified blueprints to make the new crown as it's brother. We need to keep the Scourge in check on Azeroth after all, it never just disappeared at all.
