I find it kind of funny that the Cold Steel creator, the one who makes the very tools that we shall use to fend off the hoard, is exactly the same as every ZGB fan, and every zombie apocalypse fantasist.
I love how when the ceo of cold steel is swinging the weapons around, he swings them around when jim is stood next to him like "shit, whoa that was close"
The pistol segment shows a Glock which has no safety and the tab circled is to field strip the firearm
Rob Es yup complete dumbass

For some reason, I think the guy on the right looks like Rory from "Doctor Who"
(No offense)
your not the only one
Peter Sewell Good. I would hate to have many comments saying 'WTF, your crazy!"
Ya
You use a car until there is no gas left, then you use your bike :)
And you can pack 200 to 300 pounds of gear on the bike and walk the bike while others keep watch
Cutlass machete can have it's way with both hostile humans and zombies alike. Also a big plus, Lynn wasn't lying, it has a FULL metal guard under the plastic and it part of the tang!
"You've fell asleep in your car what do you have at your disposal"
A car
8:22 i am pretty sure that's not a safety switch on a glock fucktard
Your right
Lyn hits like a truck
Austin Bostrom fact!
That's actually a really good idea. using a car as a mobile base of operations and carrying bike to use in environments that cars cant travel. It provides shelter, storage space and in the event that you run out of fuel or your path is confined, you can just use a bike to further traverse.
Or one could take a car on his/her bicycle.
Or if you are Chuck Norris, you could just carry BOTH on your back.
"that's important when you're facing three or four hundred zombies at once"...OMG I believe this guy can do it
shes kinda hot
Kind of
Nice, plump lips.
Dude u kidding me ? She’s my dream girl
Yup she is
well...that made me laugh!!!! i just imagend guy pulling that lever down in the moment of need...hahahah priceless!!!
I feel bad for all the people who wasted there money thinking an apacolypse was coming. Its gonna be 2014 soon :)
:D Thanks. Sorry my spelling wasn't to your standards. Jerk.
SolarMaximus5 hey think about it. if grammar nazis werent here correcting us all the time we would look like 5 year olds like this "hi my nme i howrd rber an i hre to shw yu ho t mak ca" im not supporting them im just saying.
True :3 But its still just so fucking annoying. I mean almost every person does it.

Well I think I want to be dead BEFORE a zombie outbreak. All the pain and the misery. And honestly I'm too darn scared.
also; i have held a real one before with a firearms instructor for a career technical center class in law enforcement&private security (never shot it, since they dont have a range there) and he showed us the process of disassembly, and the little switch that was circled in the video IS indeed the slide release for disassembling the pistol, whereas on my toy counterpart it was the safety (which if you have the same one, your confusion is understandable).
i often wonder how many of the people involved in this zombie stuff is crazy enough to believe it could actually happen
For those who never raise the hood of their cars, motor-vehicles are highly complex machines that need a list of fluids, filters and adjustments to stay functional. A bicycle can be repaired by anybody...
That was a Glock portrayed in the illustration and there aren't any active safeties on a Glock that need to be deactivated. The lever that was circled that was implied to be the "safety was actually the "disassembly lever"
This video is refreshing, Lynn C. Thompson trains rigorously every day in martial arts and firearms and he made an excellent cut in the head.
gotta love Lynn's passion and enthusiasm.
Take the bike with us...in the car.
You sir, are not a towel (this is good, trust me).
Also you just blew my mind.
its the slide lock, what keeps the gun together, push it down and the slide slides of the gun, so, pretty much, you never want to touch it unless disassembling the gun.
The best vehicle is a car (truck/van/jeep) with a BIKE RACK! Use the car to get all of your distance travel done, and to use as shelter, then take out the bikes for shorter expeditions over adverse terrain.
Car Vs. Bike Vs. Horse. Winner: horse. You get terrain-friendly and unique offensive capabilities, as well as the travel distances and speed. Fuel is grass, and its something living you can connect to in hard times.
one thing they haven't mention in the cons of the car is the extremely high chance that there will be tons of other cars that will be abandoned on the street or highways, rendering you're car useless if you can't get through. main reason why bicycle should be the clear winner in means of transporation during a azombie apocalypse
lol, "I love you fingers, I love your hands." awwwwww stop it you
no, it's just a machete modled after a cutlass. cold steel sells regular catlasses as well, but they are a little more decorative than the cutlass machete.
you know whats freaky... that whole "Miami Zombie" thats going on is just like the beginning of a zombie outbreak. Think about it, the first zombie starts attacking a random person they shoot and kill it, the injured victim gets taken to the hospital then what happens? He turns in the Hospital room then he starts to attack the doctors and nurses and then all become zombies..... yeah you get my point
Indeed, every surviving guide tells you that between a bike and a car... ALWAYS CHOOSE THE BIKE
Exactly
He is right! I never understood how people could overlook all the pluses of a car for the no fuel bonus of a bicycle.
take a bike in your car so that if you run out of gas and cant find anymore, you can take the bike. The bike is simply a means of backup transportation. You can take a bike on a car but you cant take a car on a bike.
I just wanted to make it aware that the firearm shown in question 111 very closely resembled a glock and the "safety" they were refering to is actually not a "safety" but the "slide takedown pin". Dont mess with that if zombies r around. The glock by the way is a very dependable sidearm. Adopted by more countries faster than anyother in the shortest amount of time. Great for z-day. Peace.
He forgot that roads will likely be clogged with abandoned cars for quite a long time after Z-Day. Cars may have some great perks, but if you live anywhere more populated than a rural countryside, then it doesn't matter how much stuff you can cram into your car: you're likely not going anywhere.
If you're on a motorcycle you can attach a trailer to them and wear a backpack. There is your storage. Detach the trailer and it's terrain friendly assuming you don't choose a road bike. The only real con is that you're exposed. The motorcycle is great if you're on your own or with one other person but more than that and an SUV is better. During a zombie apocalypse there is often no structure so obtaining something like a Land Rover would be fairly easy and a great versatile vehicle.
I have to add a little bit here: While airsoft guns try to get as close as possible to real steel guns they are not 100% accurate copys. Yes, most airsoft glocks have the safety on the disassembly lever or the serial no. plate. The real Glock firearms do not have external safetys (one of the main complaints about them). It does not matter that it's a G18 - it is the same as the G17, only minor changes were made to enable it for full auto fire. Almost all the Glock handguns are the same.
About pointing down your firearm is not always a thing to do,if you have a shotgun and by accident pull the trigger (i don't know how that is supposed to happen) the bullets can fly back up in your face IF you point the gun down...
Might wanna get me one of those Cutlass machetes for opening up coconuts. At least that'd be my public excuse to have a handy little edged weapon in case of real emergencies =P
he has a warehouse full of weapons and a small legion of trained workers, he will practically be a king
I figure id point out that in your question 111, when you give the option to keep the saftey on at all times, your illustration, im almost positive is a glock or a simialar firearm, in which case that isnt the saftey, its the slide release for dismantling the gun.
yea, i dont complain to be an "expert" but i have been shooting for more than 5 years and started pistol shooting a lil over a year ago, and so far glocks have been my favorite just for the simplicity and reliability they give the shooter, dont like all that flashy extra stuff other makers bring on
Depends on the car. If you choose to do so, go diesel. Gasoline degrades faster than diesel, so over time you'd need to scav more and more gasoline just to make up for the efficiency loss. Diesel degrades at a much slower rate and of course there is the potential to manufacture bio-diesel. However in the long run motorcycles, and bicycles would be better options than a car. Sure storage space is nice and all, but mobility is more important to survival. For storage, create secure caches.
Imagine if that guy was your dad, for your 10th birthday you would get a cutlass, for your 13th you would get a broadsword.
loved the video, but during the quistions, he pointed out the "safety" on the handgun (glock) is actually the take down lever for the gun. The actual "safety" is on the trigger. Just wanted to point that out so the viewers that didnt know wouldnt be misinformed.
I love the Cold Steel Machetes and I can attest to the quality. I own the Gladius Machete and can tell you it is a quality piece for the price. Sharp, nasty point and sharp edge all the way down. Will be buying more Cold Steel Machetes.
Did you forget, everyone that dies turns into a zombie? You don't need a zombie to kill you, for you to become a zombie, just think about it, most zombies aren't missing their innards or limbs, most of the zombies are whole and don't even look bitten, they just look rotted lols
i'd just have a bicycle in the back of my car... simple! XD
Despite the obvious flaw with the side lock, that question does have a right answer, and it would be about trigger discipline. You don't want the safety on in combat situations - you want to be able to aim and fire as soon as there's a threat. Muzzle awareness is almost as important, but if you're by yourself you shouldn't have any problem not pointing the gun at yourself.
Not being a troll but just pointing something out; The part at 8:20 that is highlighted isn't the safety. Its the takedown lever on that pistol which is a Glock. The safety is on the trigger itself. Hope this helps.
Well a 4 door truck with 4 wheel drive, you can carry all of your supplies, a bike, and if you choose to a dirt bike for hard terrain.
Forget choosing car or bike... just put the bike on top of car, now you got both, problem solved! Thumbs Up!!
ah, the benefits of living near a military base, vehicles of all kinds available, including amphibious LAV-3's, Infantry fighting vehicles that can fit a squad of people inside and cross almost any terrain, plus, another benifit is weapons, and it'll take maybe even years before ammo is even a question. i love my family for being a military one (brother-in-law and my dad are military)
The cold steel CEO wears immaculate white trainers to while cutting a ballistic head that spurts blood Lol :P
"be prepared" all the guys that survive in movies are completely surprised by it, as if zombies don't exist. so don't worry about being prepared, just sleep by a machete.
Almost all cars from the last 15 years have had anti siphoning mechanisms fitted, so even if you could pry open the catch, break open the cap and get your hose in, it wouldn't let you suck any out. . . on the plus side, with the current trend it SUV's and Crossovers with high ground clearance and large fuel tanks, it wouldn't be too hard to puncture the tank and let the fuel drip out into a container, washing up tubs would be perfect. Just make sure you're not alone under the car, making noise.

Lynn Has The Best Shorts EVER
"if zombies grab your arms" i seriously doubt the hand strength of a zombie. i don't get it, they're so fragile that you can tap them and they'll die but if they so much as grab your wrist? IRON GRIP!!!!!
+GLADHATMAS Paraphrasing from the Zombie Survival Guide - they don't feel pain, nor do they tire, so they can maintain a constant grip that, although just as strong as the living human, will only fail when the muscles do, and therefore is much more difficult to deal with. A living human can't maintain maximum grip strength for very long, especially compared to ravenous, untiring undead.
xmdz
really? thats including if they are corpses (and i wont go into detail the amount of impossibility that it is to reanimate a corpse) if they arent corpses then ravenous or not they will tire.
Well, we all know it's impossible to reanimate corpses, but some of the most fun fiction comes from ignoring one singular impossible thing and extrapolating with actual science from there.
Also, might not have been the ZSG. Could have been the Zombie Combat Manual. I mix them up sometimes.
xmdz
I hate Zombie survival manuals, there has never been a zombie apocalypse to survive so someone trying to pass off as a survival expert is a moron. i like zmz because he only follows common sense and real survival tips
"B" in the "how to hold a "firearm" correctly" is not a "safety," it's the take-down lever. The weapon they were portraying was a glock. Glocks do not have operator enabled safeties other than the trigger...
I think, the best thing to use for a zombie apocalypse, is a horse. Yes, they take food, but you can just feed them grass, and humans don't create grass, nature does. Besides, when the horse gets worn down and to old, or it gets injured, easy meal. And the car and bike, ya take the car and bike, and when the car dies, you have other means of transportation.
I disagree. The fact i can fit a bike in a car pretty much makes that argument pointless.
If you wake-up in your car and there are zombies out, use your keys to cut the back seat open so you can get to the trunk. Grab the tire-iron.
i have an answer to the fuel problem, gas stations, not the pumps but the fact that they usually have full gas canisters in case of broken pumps
The bike also has an advantage in maintenance and availability of parts and ability to get it to a repair shop if it breaks. If you're 2 hours outside of a city and your axle breaks and you and 3 people have 2-3 weeks worth of food in the car how are you going to get the car into the city to fix it? Does anyone in your group know how to fix the axle or can you learn on the fly how to fix it? Are the parts even going to be at the shop to fix the axle? With a bike you can carry it or roll it beside you, and when you get to said repair shop, the parts have at least a better chance of being there and you are probably going to be able to tough your way through fixing that easier than fixing an axle on your Ford. Just my thoughts, open to discussion. :)
Dude if you had any idea what you were talking about. Lynn Thompson is one dangerous man, he doenst need to run from zombies. Go look him up he is an expert marksman, swordsman and martial artist.
although he made some great points about the car, in an urban situation, i would choose a bike, as streets would most likely be crowded, and blocked by cars.
If your a kid take a bike if your a teen with a permit etc take a car and put your bike on roof or in truck. If your a kid go with someone that can drive but take your bike for when the car breaks down or the driver get infected or dies/gets sick.
In My head right now:
Space for survivors: GFs
Energy for something else: :D
*Pauses video*
D, I think it's D!
*Plays video*
"The Answer is D"
Fuck yeah.
Well why not have both!? Find a bike rack and put your bike on it so you have both just in case. My bike has quick release tires and its easy as heel to take off and put both tires back on and it's lightweight.
Not to mention it can leave you at least somewhat prepared for other disasters.
First cut - I was literally speechless.
Bring the bike with you in your car... GENIUS!
Is it just me or do you want to spin in circles with that thing? :D
cutlass machete. minimal effort, maximum reward. never leave home without it. oh and cutlass values ur fingers.
Kawasaki Sumo bicycle + military truck = most durable transportation combo
in a zombie apocalypse the only gun i will have if any will be a silenced hunting rifle but in the end i will go primal and run around with melee weapons and a bow and arrow/crossbow
bikes are a lot more easy to manuver so it is easier to dodge zombies. cars if surrounded completely and you are out of gas are impossible to escape considering how the only exits are blocked by zombies. also roads will more than likely be overflowing and filled with abandoned cars.
Did he just say "it's important facing 300 or 400 Zombies at once"???
But...i believe this guy. Not to 100% but in a serious way i believe him
Just as a side note the thing circled on the Glock handgun, in the pistol safety section, is a takedown switch and not a safety.
if you have a base relatively close to town, a bike ought to work, except for the storage space.
I dont really have an opinion in car vs bike. The only thing I do know is that I really friggin want that cutlass machete!!! XD
That last guy... the piece circled on the Glock, is the takedown switch. Glocks DONT have a safety, other than the trigger safety and trigger itself.
The best thing with a Glock, keep a mag in, and one OUT of the chamber, when SHTF just rack the slide
riding your bike along and a zombie cloths lines you off the bike and now you have a broken neck or just really hurt and about to be munched on hahaha
i am still young myself but have been shooting for about 5-6 years, i personally am not a fan of the glock because the grip feels uncomfortable to my hands, and i prefer a smith and wesson revolver (or colt, but i wouldn't want to ruin the finish on it taking it everywhere wearing out the really nice bluing it has) over any semi auto i ever shot, but i dont knock glocks, they have proved themselves more than worthy for years now.
"its good for when your up against 3 to 4 HUNDRED zombies at once" i didnt know chuck norris came with the machete
It was intended as a joke, actually, but still it could be used. You could ram a lot of walkers with that, and clear a path nicely. Don't mention the cannon, the coaxial guns and the .50 caliber HMG too.
That "safety" shown on that Glock pistol is actually a button that allows you to disassemble the handgun. THE ACTUAL SAFETY IS PART OF THE TRIGGER! Glocks have NO external safety but they are very safe.
D. Keep your finger on the trigger guard. This way you're less likely to waste ammo and draw attention to yourself by accidentally discharging your firearm.
Your vehicle of choice depends 100% on your hometown area. Choose on your own, not based upon someone else's opinion from around the world where things are possibly completely the opposite of what you have.
There is also a type of plow for some certain tanks tht allow you to plow through waves of zombies at a time.
Coldsteel makes amazing products. I'm happy that's what was used in this
con for car: in an invasion, there would be chaos in the streets when it starts, so cars would be scatered all over the road crashed, making it a challenge to get round.
I love the German Sign "Bio Diesel". Nice stock footage
assassins creed axe should be done or movie weapons myth busters episodes
just want to point out that under B.... that was not the safety. it was a slide release for breaking down the weapon.
The machetes they make are alright, the problem is their labor is completely unskilled out of the two machetes i have from cold steel they both were sharpened unevenly and incorrectly. Personally i think they should move the machete production to Thailand or US
you know someones a badass when they got short shorts on
they actually only cost around $100 and many kick harder than a .22 LR and if accuracy is your concern just buy good BBs and dial in the hop up and it'll shoot accurately 100+ft
many military and police units use them because they're just so realistic so that should say something for the quality too
