TFAL Optigrill Blinking White Light? Try This

Turn OFF the unit. On the top grill there are two parts that attach to the top clam shell. Just lightly dab those two pieces with water (I use saliva! but I have used water too!), re-attach the top plate and turn on.
This method has worked for me on those times the white light would blink upon turning the unit on.

Not only did it fix my Tfal, my washing machine and my PC got fixed with this trick as well. In fact, my wife was about to hit me with them divorce papers, but I used the saliva trick on her and now everything is solved - we're getting ready for our third son, thanks for the fix!
You saved my life 😂🤣😂 Thank you so much! I tried the recalibration but when it comes to the point where the light should turn into blue, it always turned into white and no beep. Musisz to skalibrować, oto jak to zrobić:
Podłącz grilla
1- naciśnij jednocześnie przyciski burger+ryba+temp i przytrzymaj przez 3 s.
(Światło palika będzie migać 3 razy i przestanie)
2- Umieść kawałek o długości 1,5 do 2 cali (papier, plastik, drewno lub cokolwiek innego) i zamknij kratkę.
3- Naciśnij przycisk stawki (przycisk zamiga 3 razy)
Wyjmij element i odłącz kratkę.
Podłącz ponownie grill
4- Naciśnij burger+drób+temp (powinna zapalić się zielona lampka)
5- Otwórz grill, włóż kawałek i czekaj!!!!
6- Otwórz grill, aby wyjąć element. Światło powinno zaświecić się na czerwono (naciśnij przycisk zasilania 3 razy, a światło powinno zmienić kolor)
7- usuń element i gotowe

Hahaha that is a good question! I think one day I saw those parts were wet and that caused the machine to work so I tested it. I wish I had found that out earlier because it would have saved me buying a new model. Happy it helps you!

Same problem happening on TEFAL Optigrill XL GC722D40 Grill but since there are more buttons and different arrangements, this fix doesn't work. Has anyone had any luck with fixing OR calibrating the TEFAL Optigrill XL GC722D40?
Mine is the same model as yours. It did not work either, unfortunately
@@Bruceta I ended up sending it back to TEFAL for repair. Luckily it is still covered by the warranty. I'm sure there is a calibration hack but they don't let it out so people send the grill in for repair. It seems like having the grill in very cold temperatures messes up the computer board inside and the grill will require re-calibration.

Thank you for letting me know your experience. They should tell us the calibration procedure, so that we can do it on our own, whenever, without the pain of handling the repair logistics. Besides, it looks like this grill needs frequent recalibration.
It works very well when it works.
Sadly, mine works as it should 1 out of 20 times. 19 out of 20 it only operates in manual mode.
I even thought about buying the smaller one as a backup, so that I use the small while the XL gets repaired.
Then I realized the small has the same problem.
I think I’d better wait for someone (T-Fal?) to release a reliable product, instead of buying a “defective by design” backup.
Low temperature may be one of the issue causes, however, I live in a tropical region, where temperatures are 60 to 100 degrees Fahrenheit all year long.
Very frustrating.

The calibration procedure is available online. I tried it and it fixed the issue. The problem is the fix is temporary - the grill is back to blinking lights after one or two uses
