Thanks for watching and I will see you in the next one! - Zábava
Also, this gets my vote in the challenge just because someone patching micrometre gaps with wood slivers just deserves that.
Thanks!! No gap gets left behind!
Also in the snow
One of the best restorations I’ve ever seen. Especially impressive is your repair methods using wood, original when possible, instead of filler. Final result is awesome.
Thanks! I hated not to use that original slat but I am glad I was able to utilize it for other repairs.
When I watched you glueing these tiny wood pieces I said to myself: Now, that’s a labour of love! Well done.
No tiny wood pieces get left behind!! Thanks 🍀
It was worth the wait! You did a remarkable job on that poor piece of trash. What a Cinderella story! There aren't enough adjectives to describe the outcome of your work! Absolutely magic. Well done!
Thank you for the thoughtful feedback!! Glad you liked it.
@@Restorology My pleasure!
Wow, my jaw hit the floor. Who wouldve thought the sad, done old desk could become a STUNNING EXTRA piece of gorgeous furniture❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you! That is very kind of you. I only wish that it was about an inch taller. I am tall, and my knees touch the bottom of the drawer. 🤷♂️
You get my vote on the challenge. This is amazing. Fixing all the gaps with slivers and small pieces of wood. I got the biggest smile when you saved the ladybug. Awesome job on both!!
Thanks for the vote and the great feedback!! 🌻
Real WOOD! No particle board, no MDF! Great labor of love, skills and well worn tools!
Thank you very much!
Wow! I think this is one of your masterpieces, Matt! And I think there were a million repairs! It's like the repairs of other furniture were mixed in as well 😁 The video had it all. Street racers, a cat, a very beautiful lady, a black dog, a train passing through the backyard, a ladybug, the next project... Wow, I liked it very much, my dear friend. ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you so much Ismail. You know this one took me forever to finish. 😬 Now you can see why!! The editing may have taken longer than the actual work on the piece. You are always very kind with your words and I appreciate that. I'm heading over to your channel to check out your latest! See you there. 🤗
You are my hero for saving the ladybug. Great job on the desk too.
Thanks!! They are always hanging around me while I work. It's nice. 🐞
My wife would be impressed about how you took care of the ladybug. Very good restoration of this project. I hate nails too.
Ugh, nails. Boo. Ladybugs, yay! 🐞
Wow!! This was quite the project! You turned that pile of wood into a million dollar desk. Amazing work as always Matt! 🍻
Thanks Jamie! Wish I could have finished it in time to join y'all a few weeks ago. 🤷🏽♂️🥃
I think Tom Johnson would approve of this restoration. :)
That would be awesome!! 🤩
Don't Worry, Your Worth the Wait. So Much to Comment on! Some of the Other Restorers had a Challenge a couple of weeks ago. Basically, Restore a piece Headed for the Burn Pile. Yours would have Fit in quite Nicely! I had to Give the Win to the Italian Guy. His looked the Most like a Corpse! They All did Great! Loved Your Video! I really Noticed Your sense of Humor and Natural Timing both Intentional and Unintentional (like, 'Grrr... Nails'). The Restoration was Amazing! You Needed that 40 minutes to Show Everything You had to do. It Flew by anyway. The Love for your work Shows in the Piece. Nice to see the Dog, the Cat and the Wife(?). Thank You!
This piece was supposed to be a part of that challenge but I got hung up on something else and couldn't finish this one in time to release it with everyone else. That is why I refer to this as being late!! Thanks for the very kind words and I hope to see you in the next one...it won't take so long to finish next time!
You truly are an artisan. I love to see such detail in restorations of antique pieces. They deserve this respect and hopefully will be appreciated into future centuries! I love your channel and your work.
Thank you. That is very kind of you to write.
I could have sworn the drawer moaned when you first pulled it out. If furniture could only talk! It's a beauty - and you saved it!
Thanks! I appreciate the kind message. 😊
What a massive amount of work... but the result is great! I love to see a "basket case" like this come back to life,
Thanks!! This one was a bit of work for sure...
Masterful repair and restoration! The design of the desk reminds me of Craftsman Style from the early 1900's. We lived in Pasadena, California for many years and came to love the wonderful architecture and furniture of that era! Thank you for sharing this miraculous journey with your viewers!
Thank you very much! I love the simplicity of this design and one can never go wrong with flecked oak.
I just absolutely appreciate how you saw the beauty in this literal wreck and saved a piece of American manufacturing history😍(and I'm not even American!). This piece looks so incredibly modern for it's age - a real treasure now for future generations. Plus, loved the extra nature vignettes included. Top shelf stuff mate!
Thanks for the very kind words!! Hope to see you in the next one. Cheers 🍻
You turned something headed for the landfill into something usable and beautiful. Nice job.
I literally found it in a neighbor's trash so it was definitely landfill-bound. Thanks!!
You get my vote! Your attention to detail was awesome with those tiny sliver of wood. I have my father’s old glue pot which was filled with hot water with a metal insert for the glue. Fascinating viewing Thankyou. Hope your relocation gives you a well deserved workshop as gorgeous as Jays👏👏👏🥇
Thank you very much! Just put in an application on a place that has almost 1000 sq ft of potential shop space! It'll take a little work to get it to the caliber of Jay's shop, he has all the good stuff.
obviously this took over one season of time, beginning was snow frozen and cold, ending was not. Great job bravo 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Yes I began this in January but put it aside for other projects after I took it apart. Picked it up again just recently after it had warmed up!! Thanks!
Wow 😊 What a beautiful transformation. It was almost as if the wood took the first breath in a long time. Even the desk had it's dignity again. I truly wasn't expecting such a stunning result. Thank you for saving a piece of history. I hope it ends up with someone who can love it and pass it on. Brilliant job. ❤
Thanks so much! 😊 I appreciate the thoughtful message. 🌻
Whether you are late or not, it's still an amazing piece! 5 stars! And, no matter who I watch or who wins... I'm always made aware AGAIN that I do NOT own enough clamps. LOL
There are never enough clamps, right?? Thanks for the kind words!
Excellent word and the perfect amount of commentary!
Thank you kindly!
You restored this perfectly. You are very meticulous and I loved watching a professional who is serious about what he does. Way to go!!
That was truly trash to treasure!! What a lot of work, but that desk looks amazing!
Thanks! It came out better than I thought it would. 🙂
Потрясающее преображение. Из полного хлама получился такой роскошный благородный стол. Браво мастеру.
@Restorology you sir...are an absolute sweetheart! You rescue critters, furniture and volunteer!? You my friend have a hero's heart!
Thanks for the kind words. I appreciate it!! 🥃
Ein schöner Tisch 👍
Kreative und lobenswerte Restaurierung 👍
Grüße aus Deutschland 🇩🇪
Vielen Dank für die sehr netten Worte! ✌🏽
You certainly have honed your woodworking skills! Exceptional job, and I appreciate your clever repair methods! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
This was an amazing restoration. You used a bare minimum of filler and instead used all natural materials. Beautiful 😊 . Thanks for the snippet of the train. I've loved those bad boys since I was a kid 😊
Thanks!! I like the designs on the train cars after the artists have their way with them.
OMG so much patience! You really have my admiration and congratulations on a superb result!
Thank you very much!
Fellow Tennesseean here... love your attention to detail and your hard work! What a transformation!! And, OH MY GOSH, the amount of work that went into this! Whew! You have my admiration, sir! New sub!
Thank you so much and welcome to the channel!! So happy that you are here! Where in TN are you from?
What a profound labor of love! An astonishing restoration and beautiful result, and I appreciate seeing the missteps that happened along the way. I love Craftsman furniture, and seeing this poor, mistreated relic brought back to life is inspiring. Thank you.
Thank you very much! Happy that you enjoyed watching this project. Cheers 🥃
Tremendous work as always - definitely worth the wait!! 😀
Thanks! Long overdue but that is how it goes sometimes. 🤷🏽♂️
What a transformation! You’ve revived a once tired and worn heap of kindling into a beautiful and functional piece of furniture again. I love when old things can be made new again. Thank you for sharing this with us. 💖
You are welcome...thanks for the great feedback! 🌻
Amazing, amazing, amazing! The time, patience and dedication this took to bring this piece back to life. I'm in awe.
Thank you very much!
What an amazing restoration. I was impressed with the detail in your repairs especially when you started piecing together all those little bits of the skirt brackets. Masterful.
Thanks!! I was determined not to leave any piece behind!!
A detailed-restoration meticulously done. Only a perfectionist could do that. Very well done!
Thank you very much! I appreciate that.
He gets my vote for taking the time to rescue the ladybug! Very classy in a wood working manly kind of way 😊
Thanks!!
Thanks!! Glad you approve! 🐞
Wow, your work with all this little broken pieces, you like a micro-surgeon😮
It's not difficult, just need a little patience. 👍🏽
This is absolutely beautiful! That little table has seen a lot of history, it will see a lot more now! Thank you! The wood matching and the color matching is beautiful, I wish I had a little table like that in my house.❤
Thank you very much! It's actually a bit short for me but I will still use it. Love how it turned out. 🤩
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I absolutely love your work! Hands down my favorite channel! I love how you take the whole thing apart and repair every inch of the furniture! ❤❤❤
Thanks!! It had to be done, it was beyond gnarly!! I love getting into all the nooks and crannies. 🌷
WOW ! What a transformation - from fire wood to a beautiful piece of furniture. I'm like you - can see through the destruction, and imagine a beautiful end product. You did brilliantly - you must be so proud of your work. WELL DONE, it's gorgeous. Thanks for posting. Take care 🙂. Michael in England.

Beautiful transformation. The finish looks so smooth and is testament to your attention to detail. This piece would look at home anywhere. Timeless.

That is a remarkable transformation! Never would have thought it'd end up so beautiful.
Me neither! I was surprised by the outcome. 🍀
Beautiful job. I love that you saved the Knoxville Tables placard in the drawer!
Thank you! 😊

Thanks so much!
What a transformation! Would have never thought something so beautiful could be found in that original mess. Cheers!
I was a little surprised myself! Thanks 🌻
Wow, what an amazing transformation. It was worth the wait and understandable why it was late. You were so meticulous with all of the glueing and adding of the little strips of wood , the re-glueing, sanding, just everything you did to make this piece of trash into a beautiful piece to live another 100 years. 💖
Thank you for the thoughtful message!
That's an exquisite desk and a great restoration. I admire your patience and attention to detail. Thank you for this post!
Thank you very much!
You are so gifted. I can't stopping watching. I have subscribed and spend so much time I think I'm watching things for second time now. Thank you

I took too much work and time BECAUSE you are very careful to restore it super nicely.... Your job is really really great... I love your videos... Thanks for sharing.
Thank you very much! I am happy that you enjoy watching them.
That is an amazing restoration! Your patience and skills are admirable! Thank you for showing so many techniques and hints. The color matching was spot on.
Great job! 🌟
Thanks!! I was a bit worried how the color would look on camera.
Incredible restoration.
I've seen a lot of restoration videos more skill sets and techniques than I've seen packed into one video.
That's talent! Congrats on an awesome final result. 👍
Thanks! That is very kind of you to write. Cheers 🍻
Superb job matey. Sooo much work but definitely worth it. Great video 😀👍👍👍
Thanks mate. Sorry I was late joining y'all in the challenge. 🥲
I don’t know how you do such a great job on those wobbly work surfaces!
I manage somehow I guess. Got to work with what you've got.
Absolutely beautiful result and an amazing restoration! That had to take weeks if not months to complete. Your attention to detail is outstanding and it paid off in the form of a gorgeous antique desk, again, great job!!
Thank you! Cheers 🍻
Very nice. Your attention to the details is awesome. Great job!!!!
Good trick to getting out broken screws or old nails in to use small diamond glass bit. It has to be just a bit bigger than the nail or screw. You drill just a little bit, so you can get some pliers or something similar to get out that nail. And then you can patch the hole with a dowel. Works like a charm.
The "mini pry bar" is also known as a "hive tool" and is used by beekeepers to pry open hive boxes. A nice, versatile tool indeed
Very nice. Great use of existing materials, rather than too much wood filler. Turned out wonderful.
Thank you. I am glad you enjoyed it.
Really amazing 👏🏻 That was quite a project! The number of different skills you had to have to do this restoration was really very impressive. Not to mention talent, experience, vision, patience and tenacity!
Thank you very much! This one took a bit to do, for sure.
Wow! I Am in awe of your skills. You brought that desk back from the dead! It’s absolutely stunning. Good work!
Thank you. I appreciate the kind words!
What a transformation - very impressed. My husband and I are watching from Tasmania 😊
Awesome! Thank you!
Simply amazing, I was spell bound. I trust you are keeping this beautifully restored piece.
Thanks! Not sure what I am doing with it yet.
Here I am relaxing with your kitty on the grass, then you STAB the leg of the desk! I literally gasped out loud! Great editing - great restoration.😺
Haha! Glad you liked it. Thanks!!
Si no lo veo, no lo creo! Que trabajo más extraordinario! 👏👏
I found your channel through the it’s literally trash challenge. Really glad I did! Beyond amazing work
Thank you very much and welcome to the channel! I am glad you are here and I hope to see you in the next one!! 🌻
This was a great restoration. I can see you take pride in what you do.
I try for sure. Thanks!!
This has come out really good. This is the first time I’ve watched one of your videos and I’m really impressed with how you restored this as it was shot to pieces! Well done young man.
Thank you! I appreciate the great feedback.
A man after my own heart. I did something similar to an old dressing table. The project took forever!
✌🏾😊🥃
Fantastic work, informative and interesting. The end result was amazing. It's so good to see these wonderful old pieces of furniture brought back to life.
Glad you enjoyed it...thanks for the kind words!
So beautiful, it has come back from the dead to live again! ❤️
Thank you very much!! 🌻
I live very close to Knoxville TN.
Didn't know about this company.
You do great work!
I'm not a restorer. I just watch for the entertainment value.
I am on the other side of the state. It was good to find a somewhat local old brand. Thanks for the comment!
This was definitely worth waiting for!!! I am SO impressed by your talents, your patience, and your dedication. This piece should have been trashed. But you saw potential, and you turned it into a masterpiece!! You surely would have won first place in this competition. The final result is a truly gorgeous desk, that will last for decades to come. WOW....I can't believe what you did to this. Just phenomenal!!! Congratulations on a job extremely well done! Looking forward to your next video.
Thank you for the very thoughtful message! 🍀
Tremendous!!!…. This was a super addictive watch and I thoroughly enjoyed every bit of it. I appreciate your attention to details and workmanship. It was one tedious project and u literally turned a trash into treasure.
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you very much!
Beautiful restoration! I really wasn't sure it would turn out so perfectly.
Haha me neither!! Thanks!
That is desire and dedication continuing in the cold snow!
Ha! Only worked in the snow for a minute. I'm not a fan of the cold. 🥶
Great work! It’s a really beautiful piece. Its dignity is restored.
Thank you very much!
Patience and dedication to perfection is your best asset 😅
That is very kind of you...thanks! 😀
Love your attention to detail, especially the slivers of wood to fill tiny gaps. Brilliant result. And the drawers knobs perfectly suit.
Thanks! No gap gets left behind!!

вы относитесь к изделию. Мастер, вам надо иметь учеников!
Спасибо за очень добрые слова!
What a nice video! My anxious self stopped breathing every time this guy sawed toward his other hand. So glad he has all his fingers still!!😅
Haha! I remember thinking about that while it was happening. Sacrifices for the camera angle! I hope you enjoyed watching. Cheers 🌻
