- SAGA (The Band) at AQUAFEST in Hamilton Ontario 2003. This was the last show of veteran drummer Steve Negus.
It was cold and rainy and hardly anyone was there - you would never know it considering the performance these guys gave. It was like they were playing Radio City!!!! Cudos SAGA for setting a standard most bands can't even touch today! - Komedie
I love Jim Gilmour, he has such an amazing voice and is just another reason that SAGA is awesome.
Best live band! Amazing to hear that sound
What a coincidence that I find this today. I was at that concert and I was looking at pictures I took from it last night. It's bitter sweet memories because it was Steve's las official concert with Saga. Thanks for sharing.
Love Steve negus and saga..their Phase one is legend
Was there. It was a bit of a weird appearance for them but it was still fantastic! Love there Band!
Saw them in 84 at the Montreal forum, amazing concert!
Great video of a great and under-rated band..thanks for sharing!..(pity it's been squashed to 4x3 ratio though..never mind)..
Thanks for sharing!
I was there and so were about 50 others how sad the brilliant band get so overlookef
Thanks to this legendary Canadian group it was that in my childhood I was able to know this extraordinary music called Rock, until today after many years I continue listening to it and enjoying it as if it were the first time .. Saga, Yes, Rush, Van Halen, Quiet Riot, Pearl Jam, INXS, Live, Simple Minds, etc. etc..
Don’t worry Michael Sadler, anyone who doesn’t see you as a great vocalist is tone-deaf and a moron, you are fabulous as a vocalist and a front man, super performances every time.
Yes.Just saw Saga live last night in Puerto Rico , and Sadler is singing better than ever. He is like wine.
Well said
I shot this video. It was recorded in widescreen, which is why it looks a bit stretched. I don't think it was ripped correctly.
P Morosin Thanks for uploading! This was my one and only Saga show. I was a new fan with less than a year of listening after discovering them. I got five days off work and flew all the way out from California to catch this show. (This anecdote perplexed Jim Crichton.)
I actually caught one of Steve's drum sticks at the end, but some dude's girlfriend guilt-tripped me into giving it to her, coming up with a sob story how they were personal friends and he was aiming for them. Nevertheless, I let the karma go with the stick and had a blast.
It was my first time travelling solo in my early 20s, and I had never been to Canada before. The memories are vivid. I still remember listening to Wildest Dreams on my headphones on the bus to the show and just being filled with nervous excitement. Thank you for documenting this!
P Morosin Haha! Dude, you actually managed to record my getting my Worlds Apart record signed! What a trip to randomly catch the back of my head and hear my voice on a video captured 14 years ago. Crazy.
@@starwarsunfiltered7848 - Awesome! 😄👍
Oh, they were still doing the vocoder part in Careful Where You Step!
Guitarist got a great mix way out front!🤟
Man their original drummer wasn't even in this during 2003.Not many remember him but he was a really good drummer developed severe tendonitis and had to stop playing.Geesh this is 19 years ago they are all so old now but still playing some good music.
Ian Crichton was using an original “PEAVEY 5150” by Eddie Van Halen, with the name badge removed.
'Mouse In A Maze' is on your *second* album, Michael! 😄
Some of Sadler's gestures and movements remind me of Freddie! 😀
Great show and video, but not Steve Negus's last show. Saw him in Toronto, 2007 when he replaced Brian for some shows.
Tre Billis same with the shows in germany..I was so Glad Steve jumped in...so I saw them the last time with original line up
@@maaaguz - * *Classic* Line-up! 😉 That's also what it had said on my ticket to the show I'd been to in the early 90's, when Steve Negus and Jim Gilmour had rejoined them 🙂
In a truly capitalist economy, this would be a stadium act.
ke3ep in mind this vid is shot from up front. Crowd sounds are at mid level to low here.
It's weird hearing Don't Be Late in the middle of the set...
Man... This "crowd" is a shame....
Sweet playing, lamest crowd EVER!
Saga was on mid-afternoon - I think Chilliwack was the "headliner" at night.... I don't think the event organizers knew quite what to do with Saga....
But it's good for hearing Michael sing the choruses instead of leaving it all up to the audience!
I believe "Loverboy" were the headliners!

Ian really overused the wah-wah during this era! It has no place in Humble Stance and You're Not Alone!
