Kevin "Chuck" Conners was one of the few people to play both professional baseball and basketball. In fact was first guy to shatter a glass backboard. Prayers for all my fellow Catholics in the Church Suffering in purgatory. And to all those in Church Triumphant in heaven, please pray for me and my family. Great video.
Walter Brennan is my favorite this is a wonderful post Thank you.
I've always been fascinated by cemeteries. You can find an interesting story in every one of them. Very well done, Jeff. Thank you.
YES INDEED EVERYONE. GREAT JOB AS TREEBUCK WRITTEN.
🎉 me too there is a lot of history in cemitaries
If you know the history of the persons there in some times one gets a surprise
Yay ! 😀 Ritchie Valens, I ❤️ Ritchie, imagine just how great he would of become if he had of lived.
He accomplished so much in such a short time. I remember a lot of these people, great find.
❤️Jodie 🇦🇺
Walter Brennan as grandpa NcCoy in The Real Mc Coys on television was a favorite of mine. Thank you for showing his place of rest.
Your Channel Is Wonderful Thanks 😊
Always fascinating. Nice tribute to them. Knew most all of those names, but had forgotten them. Thanks for a respectful trip to the graves of them.
Awesome a new video 😊
Great video Jeff. I really remember Walter Brennan in the TV Series..."The Real McCoys" where he played the role of "Grandpa". Of course we watched it live as a first run every week since there was no such thing as a "re-run". Oh, and isn't Bob and Delores Hope buried at the San Fernando Mission Cemetery near where you were? I think you could have been there for days and days and still run across many in the entertainment industry. Thanks again Jeff. ......Russell D.
Also, he was in Will Sonnet, looking for his Gunfighter Son; with his Grandson.
If you drive along the 23 freeway between LA ave off ramp and Madeira rd off ramp look off to the west and you’ll see a barn with a windsock and a runway.
That was Brennan’s home and he flew his bi plane right off that runway.
Still there today.
Bob and Delores are indeed buried on the Mission side of the preoperty (maintained but not owned by the cemetery). It's a beautiful, private area with many familiy plots, including their long time housekeeper! You enter it through the mission ($).
I'm starting to walk like Grandpappy Amos with a lot of elbow action. 😕
Walter Brennan was a wonderful character that earned him either 2 or 3 Oscars. We watched the Real McCoys regularly so even as a kid I learned to love him too. My Grandmother would often say that he could put his shoes under her bed any old time. Didn’t know what she meant at first but eventually figured it out. Shame on Grandma!
God Bless and Rest In Peace Walter Brennan. This man was amazing. A great actor along-side John Wayne in several movies. Thank you Mr Brennan for the great memories and laughs.
Great video, brought back so many memories of watching those wonderful actors through my childhood. The one that hits the most though is Richie Valens, such a young promising artist, who happened to pass away along with the Bopper and Buddy at the same hour and day I was born, the day the music died.
Fascinating as always 💚📕📒📮
Thank you Jeff 🎀🔭🔦💡🕰⛩🕋🌻
My Dad loved Walter Brennan. What a cool story of Brezhnev giving Chuck Connors a bear hug!!! Penny Singleton was an absolutely gorgeous woman. I enjoyed the video thoroughly!!!!
Well said! Glad you liked the video and, yes, Penny was a cutie!
Your best video yet!! I'm a yt creator also . I actually started crying when you showed deforests grave also loved ed Begley. I served on a jury, it was exactly like that movie.
Now, regarding your video quality. Excellent filming, lighting, camera positioning and audio.
Very well researched, and your voice and elocution are excellent. Keep up the great work, And by the way You are an exceptionally good looking and will groomed man
Wow, thanks sir! I really appreciate the praises. I just noticed how many subscribers you have! Congratulations! You must be doing something right, too!
Since becoming disabled, you go where I cannot. The memories that come up has my fondly remember my childhood. Please continue. Am true lover of history and bring it to life. I am a fateful follower.
LOTS of great memories! I grew up watching, and still love to watch old westerns and remember Walter Brennan well. I actually remember him the best from "The Real McCoys" TV show. The Rifleman was a fave as well. Chuck Connors was also a professional baseball and basketball player. Great video!
We appreciate the great comment, Cythia! Thanks!
I remember watching the Blondie movies on Saturday with my Mom in the mid 1960’s I believe it was on KBHK 44 in the mid 1960’s then Roller Derby with the Bay Area Bombers and wrestling Ray Stevens , Haystack Calhoun. Good memories thanks for stirring them up Jeff. BTW I’d do Donald Duck imitation’s years ago and I remember I took a gal out on a date in the middle of dinner old Donald started talking she laughed so hard I was afraid she was going to choke.
I absolutely love Walter Brennan and Chuck Conners
They were a favorite of many people. Thank you for watching and commenting.
Love Ritchie Valens. I love rock and roll.
This has become one of my favorite CZcams channels since I found it a couple of weeks ago. Really appreciate the respect you pay to the people you visit. A couple of other graves in the San Fernando Cemetery that I have visited are actor William Bendix, and writer Richard Matheson. Matheson wrote some of the best episodes of The Twilight Zone, and has over 90 writing credits listed in IMDB. Among is short stories and novels, he also wrote the novel "I am Legend" which was the basis for the "Omega Man" movies and the "I am Legend" movie.
Thank you, Jeff and Co. for producing another awesome, informative video. Many of those who you featured on this episode were stars I knew well from their shows I saw growing-up, especially Chuck Connors. Me and my brothers got to meet him in the fall of 1967 or 68 when he came to pheasant hunt on my grandparents ranch in Oakdale. Their neighbor Bud provided horses to Hollywood for shows and movies and knew Chuck. He asked permission for him to hunt on their property- it was well-known as prime pheasant land back then. When they finished their hunt, Chuck bought us boys a pony and he and Bud walked her (beauty) over and gave her to us. I was about 10 then and brothers were younger- so you can imagine our eyes and mouths open wide while in the presence of the Rifleman, whose show was well-know to us, mostly in reruns.
I gotta say I will always remember Walter Brennan for his roll in the Real McCoys! He had some quirky mannerisms.... like he had a hitch in his get a long!! When he would start to walk his shoulders would go up and of course his arms would follow!! And his short temper... and as a kid I never thought much about how fast ol Chuck could fire that lever action Winchester until I owned one similar... and couldn’t figure out how he did it till I read an article on it... they welded a little tab in the right spot on the lever so when he pulled it al the way up it pulled the trigger!! I think countless wanna bees had this done... not me I am a purest if it didn’t come that way then leave it alone!! Great Job as always Jeff!! Thanks So Much!👍👍
Good old Hollywood trickery at play with Chuck, eh? That figures! LOL. Even the reality shows have a bit of staging and dishonest editing behind them! Hey, thanks for your great feedback! It’s appreciated!!!
The Rifle Man, Chuck Connor's one of my favorite TV Shows still is today 💕🙏
Jeff ,I'm old enough to remember the majority of these Stars you have visited today! Thanks for all the research you do for your videos and including he relavant clips for the stars!
Especially poinyant Is the " Day the Music Died"! My late partner and I were teens when Buddy, Richey and The Booper perished in that awful plane crash! " Oh Donna " has followed me my lifetime after that song hit the charts! I could introduce myself and invariably someone would start singing Oh Donna ! "True Love Ways" our favorIte also now brings the tears flowing when I hear it or play my BUDDY HOLLY GREATEST HITS ALBUM! My late Beloved was raised in San Diego so I do love that you include the scenery as you drive and visiting the places in California that he visited in his years there! He traveled up and down the state of CA in his summers as a teen and during many years after graduation! He was a Great WONDERER!
Sorry Sarah couldn't make this trip! She has such a dry wit with you! Brings along many smiles for you I'm sure!
Thanks for the memories!!🥰D
hi jeff!! thank you for remembering these talented people!! RIP!!!! we appreciate you jeff!! stay, safe!!
Thank you so much! We will do our best to stay safe so we can bring you more videos. Lol
Thanks for remembering these people. I'm sure they would be so grateful.
I would hope so! If nobody cares or remembers that would be a sad testament to their life and career!
Roll that history!!! Thank you. Nice episode ❤️
My mom loved Jerry Colonna, and everyone loves Walter Brennan. Love Chuck Connors.
Yay. Chuck Conners. My fav!!!! I still watch The Rifleman today. Thank you.
My brother loved him and that show. In fact, he had a Rifleman lunch pail while I had a Batman lunchpail. Can you imagine a kid bringing a Rifleman lunchpail to school today? He'd probably get expelled. My, how times have changed!
@@jbenziggy So true!! Hard to even find a western on TV today. Although I have been loving 1883.
Thank you for taking me on the tour. I have only seen Chuck O'Connor and Richey Valence
Walter Brennan was one of my favourite actors, always made me smile when he was on screen..
Another good trip down memory lane with the old stars. Thank you Jeff.
By far! the best American history program i’ve seen / watching. 👍
Thank you, we really appreciate that, Reg!
I grew up in the San Fernando Valley and my big brother is buried there. I've been there many times but never knew some of the people buried there but recognize their faces. Thank you for another great video!
Thanks, Jennifer! Sarah and I went there last year to find Bob Hope's grave not realizing all the stars buried there so a return trip was necessary!
Penny was gorgeous, Jeff! Thank you for the tour.
She was indeed. Those Hollywood stars were beautiful folks!
@@jbenziggy yes those women were back then in the golden age.
Walter Brennan was an amazing supporting actor in so many movies. His unique persona was such a compliment to so many legends like John Wayne. One of my very favorite was The Far Country in which he starred alongside Jimmy Stewart. What a personality.
Ed Begley Sr. is also in two of my favorite Westerns...The Lawman, opposite Burt Lancaster, and Hang 'Em High, opposite Clint Eastwood. In both films he played the dastardly outside the law character to the star's heroic lawman.
Walter Brennan, one of my favorite actors. He earned 3 Best Supporting Actor oscars. Up until the early 40's movie extras could also vote and he was popular among his fellow actors. That led to a rules change. He was in the Three Stooges short 'Women Haters'; unique in that all the dialog was in rhyme. Too many great roles in so many great movies. Really enjoyed this one as usual.
I did not know that he appeared in the Three Stooges! Thanks for sharing that! I appreciate you giving us the time to watch!
You do know he was a racist, right?
@@shadetreader and you say that because …?
@@shadetreader
😂😅😅 Racist! Bein a racist is the latest greatest craze aint it?
Loved The Rifleman. Likely my start of appreciating rifles. Thanks so much !
Also very much remember Walter Brennan. The voice, the limp.
Some waaaay before my time!
Yosemite Sam was a fave.
Hi D. DUCK 👋
Oh! I remember George. 👏
"War was in all the papers".
...history repeating itself today it seems 😢
Oh how it bothers me that names aren't on markers. 😢
Judy Jetson !!
Meet George Jetson, his boy Elroy...
Father's Knows Best was a great show, too.
Spocks mother? I don't remember that and I'm aTrekkie (original).
Fred Mertz!
Man you found a great cemetery !!!
Richie. Too ???!!!
I think weather caused that nasty accident.
LaLaLa Bamba...
Thanks Jeff, for taking us on this trip.
Sarah missed a great one.
Great crisp clear video, Jeff.
Well done.
👏👏
Awesome episode!
Walter Brennan… “Old Rivers”.
Brings back memories!
I absolutely love the old Hollywood stars. They are way before my time but I find those days so interesting. Great video as always!!!
I’m glad you liked the revisit of some old Hollywood stars!
Good grief Jeff! This is one of my favorite episodes yet! Great research and clips of well known as well as fairly unknown stars. A wealth of information. Thank you so much👏. Walter Brennan=GOAT
GOAT???
Greatest of all time.
Brennan was a vile white supremacist.
Close to home!!! I moved to Sylmar when I was 12 and my dad was a Disney photographer since the late 50s. I had the privilege of meeting Ducky Nash, all the famous artists, including Walt himself....love the video and research behind it.
It’s awesome you bring back all the old memories of growing up
Thank you again for another wonderful Vlog. So appreciate the history lessons along with it.
Safe travels my friend. Hugs to Sarah.
I feel honored to have experienced the Golden age of Hollywood with such great actors like Mr. Brennan. He was the quintessential western movie actor and made for his career choice.
Thanks for all the history and historical information and places that history was written.
Glad you enjoyed it, Alex!
What great memories you revived with this video. Walter Brennan was always a favorite. He was the real McCoy.
He was indeed the Real McCoy!
One of your best!
Truly some Great memory’s of wonderful people.
Thank you
Thank you for the fun memories of these special people.
I want to thank you for all your work on people that have gone before us. My father is 81 years old and loves seeing all the people he remembers from days gone by.
Keep up your fantastic work my friend! 👍👍👍
Wow! what a flash back! We learned much on your video. You know, I have to chuckle a little. I remember a bunch of those folks growing up in Modesto watching TV. Remember, our main TV channels were 3, 10 and 13 off the antenna. Was I glued to the TV like kids and phones of today? LOL
Great video loved it. Thank you Jeff for what you do for us. Stay safe out there and God Bless you.
Thank you very much and God bless you too!
One of the greatest shows ever! Missed Sarah!
Very well put together history of great people! It was so enjoyable to learn about these people and to see their graves. Thank you!
This is a beautiful cemetery 👍
RIP to all.🙏Thank you for the tour.
All these people are ones I grew up with
on TV and in the movies, and in Richies case, the radio. So sad they are no longer with us.
Loved the video. My office is across the street so I have been walking through the cemetery at lunch for years. Its a very peaceful place and gets me outside for some exercise I knew of a lot graves you showed, but many I was unaware of. One you missed is William Bendix. I’m a big fan of old time radio, and he of course played Chester Reilly in The Life of Reilly, as well as movies such as Wake Island and The Guadalcanal Diaries. I also love Ed Begley Sr. Because he played Lt. Levenson on Richard Diamond, Private Detective with Dick Powell and he was very entertaining. Thanks again for the great stories.
Yeah I just didn’t have time to get to Bendix and others. As it was it took me three hours. Time went by fast!
Remembered a lot of those you have shown today Very much enjoyed Thankyou Jeff
I mostly remember Walter Brennon in the Real McCoys! Fun show to watch! Thanks for the video!
Hello Jeff, Thanks for sharing and remembering these people who brought us talent especially Walter Brennan who was my favorite. May they Rest in Peace 🙏 Have a Wonderful day 🌞
I grew up on all of the Western Series, even the Old 30' & 40's Western Series & movies etc. & watch them even today whenever I can.
Thank you Jeff, for bringing old memories back. Loved all those movie stars.
They will always be our favorites, special to us who watched them!
What a treat to see Mr. Nash, the voice behind Donald Duck ! I recently watched a CZcams video with Chuck Conners as a guest panelist on "What's My Line". Not only was he a talented athlete and actor but he was so perceptive as a panelist. Thank you for this wonderful trip down memory lane!
Thumbs up. Outstanding.
Bob Hope is enshrined there too. More than just a grave.
I remember enjoying Walter Brennan in the real McCoys! Thanks for another great video
Great episode! Can't believe all these tv greats are buried there. Thanks for all the great info and filming you provide as always. A big thumbs up 👍
Our pleasure, Doug! Thanks for the big thumbs up!
At 71 I’m most blessed when you & Sarah take a trip in the “way back machine” and remind us of a different time. Mr Frawley stuck out the most, I recall he was in The fighting Seabees w John Wayne, chewing on a cigar in Miracle on 34 th St, and as the “spendthrift” Fred Mertz. It seems his Mrs. on the show used to tease him for being a “tightwad” great memories Jeff ❤️, stay with it and keep up the good work
Very interesting. Especially the gentleman that invented the radio among many other entertainment advances. I love the cemetery visits. I learn a lot of history
It's always good to remember these truly great entertainers, thank you for keeping their names alive.
I grew up watching all of these folks as a kid. Thank you for the good memories.

Thanks Jeff, always interesting , love the background work you do.
Central California Watching
Awesome, thank you, Mr. Theodore!
Thanks for the great tour!
Another outstanding video Jeff! Thanks for researching it all! Hi to Sarah, missed her! :-)
I really liked watching Walter Brennan. He did a great job in Support Your Local Sheriff and Tammy as well.
He was one of those rare individuals who could play a variety of roles but I think most people remember him as the toothless feisty cowboy roles. Thank you very much for leaving the comment.
That...was a walk down the lane of my childhood! Lots of people I had not thought of in years- Thank you!
Thank you for sharing your videos Jeff.
This was another great show. You are the best favorite. Thanks
Awww thanks Betty! Don’t make our heads swell up though. lol
A fascinating trip indeed!! Thanks Jeff!
I am 77 and a Widower. All of my life [so far] I have been fascinated by Hollywood and stars and Entertainment in general. It is surprising to me that some of these stars are buried in this cemetery. There are "more famous" cemeteries in Hollywood for famous people. I guess they had their reasons. It was very interesting and I hope you will continue.I'm sorry to tell you,but I am not familiar with you. I stumbled onto this video. And I am glad I did. I will be looking for your next videos in the future.
Welcome to our channel. I cannot say that we will be doing celebrity graves in every video but we will do one more in the near future for sure.
You included some of my favorites from my childhood. Thank you.
Wonderful memories and presentation as usual.
Awesome video jeff, always enjoy how you put these together.
Keep it up and never stop.
Thanks, will do!
Thank you Sir for the great videos . They very informative and well put together . I enjoy them very much .
I had the Pleasure to meet this Wonderful performer on tour with Morey Amsterdam circa '77@ Suttmillers in Dayton,Ohio.
Do you mean Walter Brennan? How was Morey Amsterdam?
Thank you so much for a ride down memory lane
You’re welcome! Thanks John!
Thank you for sharing Jeff! Brought back alot of memories.
It's strange how quickly we can forget all these classic stars of yesterday! Thanks for helping relive the past with us!
Wow...such and endlessly fascinating channel...I was literally named after The Rifleman because my Dad was a fan of the show. I will say that I kind of miss your intro with the swinging light bulb...hope it does not go away permanently.
Love your videos. Been watching over a year now. Educational entertainment. Thanks
Thanks so very much! I’ve always said my goal is to educate and entertain!
Such a Heart touching video, THANKS 😊💕
Thank you very interesting and informative. Brings back memories.
