Yeah! I came to say the same thing. Way back when I woked at a tire shop and had to put studs in snow tires. That inspired me to complete college.
Plenty of men out there who wake up and go to a factory and weld for a solid 6-8hr trigger on time with barely a break.

You know how women put foam spacers between their toes when putting on nail polish? Do the same with your tire nails (rubber spacers) so the pressure equalizes on all the nails at the same time

I always wonder why no one tries cutting the nails short to 10-15mm so they don’t bend as easily

So much snow and ice packed in between the nails it almost looks like a bald tire. I'm surprised they still gripped. I bet that's why you felt it sliding sideways on inclines.

Probably should have welded some braces halfway up the nails just a bunch of tacks would do lol but seriously bracing them will keep them from bending as much. It’s a SUPER COOL idea though

No worries...It's a diesel. Old normally aspirated diesel engines sound like that. They clatter much louder than newer modern engines.
When the tyres are full of "crap" they look like they have tyres on! Cool!
Technically, this is just making the tires out of whatever (loose) material they are driving ontop of. With the added benefit of tire studs.
You can buy gun nails that are collated so make it easier to weld

a friend of mine put 50 year old spiked tires to the lada and it worked perfectly in the ice and snow. Nowadays this kinds of tires are illegal because they damage the road to much and you can only use them in the countryside in the middle of nowhere because if police is not there it is legal :D
How about mixing those tires with the rubber playground tires
So you have rubber supporting the nails and the nails sticking out for grip
Imagine the mess you’d find in your garage the next day after the snow melted.

Yes, the bending moment it too strong because of the long nails. Ideally you could mix both of your previous project and nail them on your rubber tires.😅
Have they tried running an engine with vegetable oil as the lubricant instead of motor oil?
If the wheels had some sort of rubber latex applied so that just 2-3 inches or 52mm of the nails are exposed. I think this would hold them in place better. Try?

Why not make a tire with smashed old tires parts glued together? I mean not inflatable but solid one. U could put in it some other materials too to boost performance, idk like small gravel or iron wire mash or something fused together with heat
And the entire village is now dealing with flat tires for months now with all the nails shed during the tests. 😮
I'm sure your neighbors appreciate all the nails you left behind on the road. 🤣

When you brush steel with brass it leaves a golden shiny rub, what happens if you copper/brass brush the interior of combustion engine? will it increase performance?
