Yep exactly that, the wire is really thin so i just made a small hole behind the map and pushed it thru and caught it at the bottom

Bear in mind this is the Mercator projection that massively exaggerates the size in area of some countries compared to others.
Yes this is Mercator, most people don't know about the differences in real world between maps lol. But Mercator is most commonly used due to Google and ease of navigation.
Greenland is crazy oversized in Mercator

No i used multipurpose rawl plugs so was quite easy.
@@Dipscovery So you didn't need to check for studs before installation if you use the rawl plugs?
@ccOrangePepsi no you dont need to you can just drill the hole and then use rawl plugs.

I am thinking of installing one of these maps onto a flat piece of wood then putting that on the wall so it is easy to move to another location - how thick would a suitable piece of wood need to be to be able to install the map onto?

@ianarmstrong7164 im not sure i didnt measure them, but they fit into a small rawl plug. Probs about an inch?
So far, I don’t like their customer service. I accidentally order the wrong map, and I want to cancel my order before they ship it. No one answers the number provided on their website and I’m waiting for them to respond to my email that I sent to support. Where is their live chat that you mention?

How do you know where to put the loose pieces e.g. Greenland?
Hi, you just need to freehand it by looking at the actual printout map.
One of our pieces was broken when we received it. Finally got a new one - which was broken in the exact same spot 😅 Now we will finally put the entire thing up only to see that the wire from Australia til Antarctica was broken - we have no idea how to fix the wire 😢

how did you fixed the plug? mine is the same, the led light is not working and I couldn't get a clear answer from the manufacturer.
Took the plug apart and rewired it

@ronnieguanzon1724 i did it myself, its quite straightforward just need to check the connections. If your not confident then get electrician.
