- Hi folks, NatNomad here. An ex-Buddhist monk from Laos with a big dream of seeing the world. Throughout my time for over 10 years being a monk I kept asking myself one question "What life is like out there beyond the monastery?" and because of this question alone made me take a big step in 2014 when I finally said goodbye to my wonderful monastic life.
And now I'm doing what I've always wanted to do. Though I am not quite sure if I can say that I'm living my dream but you know what I'm loving my new adventure.

Punctuality: however the first Lao Airlines to Bangkok generally leaves ahead of schedule as soon as most passengers are on board...
Bahama, that also. the bus driver would say "It's unpredictable, when we have enough passengers we would leave ahead of time"🤣

Oh I had lunch there today with a friend.
The inconvenient of livingbin Luang Phabang are linked with the "Bo bpen niang" ( ne pas s'en faire , ce n'est pas grave in french) mentality of Lao people. I thing another actual inconvenient reality is linked with booming flow of not only western but middle class Chinese tourism which makes prices rockets expensive and slowly destroy the spiritual life of many lao people. The town is getting more and more a Dysneyland spot. 😢
Yes, Luang Prabang can be over touristy sometimes.
I am disappointed.. you talk about living in Lao. But record this in a European country and house. So we dont get to see your house.
