  • This video shows how to make the homemade DIY scent killer spray we used in a pinch during our Texas hog hunt. It could also be used for hunting Deer and Coyote! I didn't have a 2 liter available during the filming so the scale is off but it still shows how to put it together! This worked great and I believe it kept the hog at ease and offered us the opportunity to make a great shot!

      It ends up being just a solution of baking soda. Hydrogen peroxide is photosensitive.

      This guy is clueless. If it has emitted gas the hydrogen peroxide is already decomposing to oxygen and water. What does he think reaction that’s producing gas is?

    Wow what a difference your blend makes. I had 6 different white tails down wind of me , with the closest at 20 yards and not a single one smelled me! I made up 5 gals of it. I do use it heavily! I did purchase a 12 oz bottle with earth scent and mix it in with the 5 gal batch to add earth scent! Better than anything I’ve ever used. I even added a half gal to my washing machine when washing clothes. Smells like dirt!

    Hi Marty (hope I spelled that correctly), how much H202 do you put into the baking soda solution? It seemed like you may have put less than 16 ounces into the bottle. I hunt deer, if that changes the concentration of H202. Thanks for the help! Great video.

    What is the ratio of the hydrogen peroxide? You gave an example of two cups of distilled water and the quarter cup of baking soda but you did not specify the ratio of hydrogen peroxide. Thank you for the video. Lord willing I also plan to add some pine scent to mine through Pine essential oils and not only will it be a scent killer but a cover scent as well..

    • @4jesus1981
      @4jesus1981 Před 6 lety +1

      But as I I watched the video again I noticed that you didn't even fill up the whole 20-ounce bottle with hydrogen peroxide. So I am not sure the ratio. Too little would be a disaster scent wise but too much to bleach your clothes. If you could give a ratio updating your description that would be awesome my brother.

      I found that you want to use local scents.....I have a lot of pine out here so I will boil some pine needles in the distilled water to help further mask the scent. I also leave my hunting clothes in a bag with pine needles as well a day before too.

      I've made similar sprays and test it in a small area of my clothes first. only thing I noticed was it reduced any shine on my gear witch is a good thing. Also I started using white vinegar instead of baking soda, For early season it seems to also keep bugs away.

      Deer are naturally inquisitive, and will actually investigate the smell of smoke. My brother “smokes” in the woods all the time, and sees/kills a lot more than most. Hanging your clothes around a camp fire will actually cover up scent as well as the burnt wood smell is common in the forest.

    Hey - what percentage of hydroxen peroxide? I assume its just 3%... or 5% or 12%? Or even 30%? Hell, 90% would be rocket fuel and burn everything organic!
    The 30% and even 12% would probably burn your skin pretty badly even with this amount of baking soda in it. So this really needs clarifying - that´s some really dangerous information you´re putting out here without naming the percentage. If somebody tries that shit with 30% hydrogen peroxide, I guarantee the outcome will be pretty bad if he sprays it on his skin...

      I don't remember from where I knew that info about peroxide, but you're right. That explain why it's sold in plastic brown bottle. Anyway... I still curious about that mixture and I was wondering if keeping it in an opaque bottle would preserve it and make it effective as expected. What do you think about it? Did you try it?
