Well , I tried it for three hunts, I’ve had small bucks walk under me, and an old doe, pass through where I’d walked none even flinched remained calm had them in one hunt for about 30 minutes, hunting in thick woods no need to buy scent killer ever again definitely works great. I let it sit out in sun for about 6 days. Thanks for sharing , great idea.

I have made it and tried it it’s only be one week but I can already see results works FANTASTIC had a small doe walk 15 yards all the way around my tree and didn’t think of anything THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!

Stored some clothes with Pine Needles,leaves, Pine Chips some Ceder Shavings from the area I hunted in a Hunters Speciality Scent Free bag I got my hands on some 8 years ago. Got out of the game for various reasons and got the opertunity to make a hunt 2 years ago, obviously the cover alls don't fit but my point is IT WORKS. The clothes smelled of Mother Earth and I was taken back to the day I stored them while looking at my buck on the wall. Thanks for sharing

I like your approach. I will give this a try. I was setting up my stand for the bow season hunt and a doe came up on me and started blowing! She has pegged me every single time since the season started. Sent killer didn't seem to work for me. She is a smart nanny for sure.

Dollar tree has the spray bottles. People (my wife) has a million of them. She uses the for her hair,the cats,plants....

Great idea ---- I think Patterson and Gimlin were able to get that close, to Patty, because they been riding their horses a long while and I think the horse scent covered up their human scent ------ so this may help all the squatchers out there also. So get a GREAT BIG bucket --- fill it with creek water ---- throw a horse in it 😉👍

First of all, greetings from Turkey, I will do this and use it to hunt wild boars that come to my garden in summer. About a month later, they will come to eat the fruits that have fallen from the mulberry and fig trees in my garden. Since the wind is usually blowing from the wrong direction, they smell me and they don't come near me, I hope this spray will prevent them from getting my smell.

I’ve been doing this for a few years now. I live in Florida where our woods are full of pines, and it’s easy to do this and make yourself smell like a pine tree leaking sap. That being said I consider it a cover scent, not a scent killer per say.

Do you add any other ingredients to kill future bacteria? Bc I boil green pinestraw strained it into a spray bottle and within 3weeks fungus was floating around in it
Nope I still have half of mine and absolutely no kinds of fungus is in mine

Yep right now it's outside in my garage and still looks like it did when I made it.
May want to try distilled or bottled water. Think he keeps it refrigerated.
The moss he used could be the key to prevent fungus/bacteria. It is known to be a good at that

I honestly don't believe so, if you unless it's a pine forest then maybe
@@MountaineerOutdoors Well I live in the mountains but go to a cottonwood/pine forest out of state to hunt next to a river so I'm not sure if my local scents would smell strange to the deer in that area. I am trying a baking soda spray mixture this year to hide my scent, but if I bring back some debris I'll try making this scent tea for next time.
I would be interested in boiling that concoction and see if it still has a good smell. Just seems like its an ideal environment for bacterial growth, especially if you use rotting ground foliage. One good example would be, Yarsinia Pestis (black death).
Me personally I wouldn't use it only for one season
@@MountaineerOutdoors One season is still enough to get sick. I did some research, and people do boil a similar mixture...my guess it might bond better with the water molecules. I'm definitely going to try your method with boiling and then letting it simmer....then I'll try adding a bit of vanilla and anise to it. Thanks for the vid!

Most hose water would have chlorine Or flouride or both for algae. I would get distilled or bottled water. All contaminants are filtered out.
I was thinking about leaving the tap water outside in the sun let the sun degrade the chemicals.. I prefer creek water though. Richard that's a great idea
@@MountaineerOutdoors I think anytime you add organic matter to water you will get algae at some point. The key may be in how well you filter it after getting the scent you want. The sun removing the chlorine should work like in a pool. It dissipates over time. Good idea.

I hunt near the sewage treatment plant. Made some up that smells just like the woods around there. My wife is not happy.

If you collect the leaves and soil from the place where the deer defecates and urinates. I believe the result is better.

@@MountaineerOutdoors Spray bottles are hard to get because of high demand for cleaning supplies due to the coronavirus. Regardless, Thanks for the tip. I'm new to hunting and don't have the cash for all the expensive scent stuff. Your tip makes scents, I mean sencse.
