You do a good job T.J. in front of the camera very informative and your personality makes it interesting, keep up the good work.
I found a Weller Antique 107 today... after bourbon hunting a month for it I found it at around MSRP in Oklahoma where most stores want double MSRP on alocated stuff
I was searching in the Cream Liquerre section and this store participates in shelf hiding allocated items and right next to the bailey's 3 aisles away from the Bourbon was the Weller 🤣
Dude swear to god local liquor store in oklahoma wants 399 for blantons and 80 for eagle rare like WTF
@andrewparisotto2631 every major grocery store gets both of those and better on a regular basis, most don't put them on the shelf ever
to find something like that on the shelf you have to get lucky with an owner that is unaware of the hype and value.
get to know the wine steward at your local Kroger or whatever grocery store you go to. buy a couple regular bottles from them, ask about their favorites, buy a store pick ect.
in no time you'll get all the goods, really doesn't take much. just more than showing up to a store you've never been to and asking for staggs lol
guessed half of these lol.
I have been in this industry my entire life on retail and distro side of things.
my dad raised me in a liquor store he owned, but bourbon didn't explode until a few years before covid, before that all the collectors were into scotch. now I work for the company that distributes sazerac products in my state.
I love all the videos on how to get allocated product regularly. they're always spot on.
I love this channel for the bottles that aren't driven on hype. very fair reviews imo
I also have a 2020 WLW. Mine is about half gone and once it got that low, I put the rest in an old Weller SR 375 bottle. Keeps the oxidation down but that way I don’t have to rush to finish it off.
Wild Turkey Rare Breed Bourbon and Jack Daniels Single Barrel Barrel Proof (not the rye) are perfect for all occasions.
Gotta love Wild Turkey 101, OGD 114 and Evan Williams Bottled in Bond for how amazing they are and how easy they are to get. Don't feel bad at all when you're trying to wring those bottles out for that last drop.
@@steveverdoo1859 awesome! Probably one of my if not my favorite under $30s. Makes a killer Old Fashioned. Great sipper too!
Favorite bottle: Stagg Jr
Great pour: EH Small batch
Best Shelver: JDSBBP
Shareable: WT101
Honorable Mentions
Best Shelver: Old Forester 1920
Shareable: Woodford Reserve Double Oaked
Tasty and Obtainable: Four Roses Single Barrel Select or 1792 Barrel Proof Select
Wild Turkey 101, Evan Williams 86, and Evan Williams Bonded are my big three. I try to have at least one of them around for sipping or for making an Old Fashioned.
For the older gentlemen at my wedding I had a few bottles of Jack Daniels Single Barrel select, and boy was that stuff good. The best bourbon I have tried so far! (Only had about 8 bottles so far or so) I agree with Jill on that one, its my favorite hands down.
Got an EH Taylor store pick Single Barrel and holy smokes!! It has easily moved to the top of my list. I’d take it over the rip van winkle 10 year.
WT 101 is my go-to utility bourbon also. It's like the Swiss Army Knife of bourbon 😋
I have a barrel pick, barrel proof Frey Ranch and I’ve only had a couple of pours. Same with a Souther Star Paragon cask strength for just a couple of pours.
I’ve got 5 bottles on Blanton’s on my walls and nobody that comes over ever wants any. Most over-rated bourbon ever? Just collecting dust versus a lot of other stuff in my cache. Love the show, keep up the great work! 👌🏼
*of*
Blanton's looks beautiful..... But it doesn't really taste that good, I mean I'll take rare breed over it any day, To be frank the real price is insane, even at MSRP it's just not worth it.
There's a lot of stuff on the 40 to $50 category that just stumps Blanton's.
Why buy 5? Not the brightest bulb
Blantons used to sit on the shelf at 59.99 years ago. I thought it was overpriced back then. Its foolish to hunt for it in this climate
I'd take all them bottles 😂😂 love blantons 🏴
Good review.....quite helpful.
So I guessed WLW and Weller 107, I guessed Evan Williams BiB and you picked WT 101, but you then said later that it is one you go through a lot so I was close. I also guessed Blantons correctly!
My 5. 1792. Evan Williams vintage. Michters American Whiskey. 4 Roses Blended. Henry Mckenna 10 year. Honorable Mention: Breckenridge. Even though 1792 is owned by Sazerac CO, Buffalo Trace can stick it.
I like what you do Sir!
you gotta get into the four gates !!! Especially port Perry Perry and bourbon down under
Four Roses single barrel will always have a place on my bar
Four Roses OESO is my must have.
Birthday bourbon, weller antique 107, wt101, 1792 bottle in bond for advancing people taste, michters 10 year. Rye category old carter, mwnd, old forester rye, wild turkey cornerstone, michters single barrel barrel proof toasted barrel.
I have some buffalo trace expressions in the vault and bring it out from time to time to share with others, although Weller is the only really great one to my pallete. I always have rare breed and 1920 and 101 and old num 7 on bar. Also. Always Redbreast and other pot stills, and always an Irish single malt.
palate
Knob Creek 12, Woodford Reserve Dbl Oak, Makers Mark 46, Old Forester 1920, EH Taylor. Rack em and stack em.
I’m new to bourbon and I’m not able to read the labels on the bottles as you bring them out. Could you comment them in a list? Thanks!
What is the bottle next to the jack??
Benchmark Full Proof, Jack Daniel’s SBS, Woodford Reserve Double Oak, Wild Turkey 101 & Wellers SR
I have evan williams bnb for 4 years never opened
I'm an average man, my must have is 1 bottle. Eagle rare. Since I got into bourbon Eagle has always been on my shelf. It's going to have to be replaced soon sadly, at $45 it's great but at $60 I'm really close to replacing it for good.
You can still find it at msrp $35 depending where you go
I'm in north Jersey, can't find it within 20 miles.
What are you going to replace it with?
Was lucky enough to have an awesome neighbor that let me try the W.LW. smoothest and best bourbon I've ever had. I just recently tried a Blue Note Uncut unfiltered and a Balcones True Blue cask strength... Both were phenomenal to me. But I would love to know your rating. Because I use your tasting and review videos to influence what I buy....... Thanks for the great content !!!!
P.S. neither one of those bottles compare to W.L.W just wanted your take on them. And also how do you compare Rebel 10Year vs Weller 12?
Wilderness trail bottle n bond
What would you recommend to someone who loves Four Roses Small Batch and wants to expand into those pricier bottles ($75+)
Jack Daniels single barrel barrel proof
Small batch select
Which batch is that wlw?
I really love george dickle rye and its very affordable
Did you make it down to Texas during your bourbon hunting? I can’t find the video.
Talisker, Clynelish, Elijah Craig. Wild Turkey, Caol ila
How long will open bourbon last realistically before it starts to go bsd
No reason to rush to finish special bottles. Buy some Boston Round 8 oz bottles and those 1/3 full bottles can last for many years more.
Rod and rifle is lower proof and cheaper but I liked it
Blantons straight from the barrel makes me selfish. It’s absolutely amazing. Single barrel on steroids. Finally picked one up on a Germany trip for €250. Not bad for secondary. I haven’t seen one here at home in the US. Half the bottle vanished in one night with my close buddy it was so good
I just scored my 1st last week $70 US
@@andrettski8686That’s crazy because MSRP is bottom line $150. Hard to believe
@@bassmanaustin Oregon has their Liquor Control Commission and doesn't allow any mark up. And no sales tax.
@@andrettski8686
I’m very familiar with Oregon and their pricing. I live in the tri cities and mostly hunt in Umatilla, Hermiston and the surrounding areas. Screw WA. It’s all secondary now so I travel sometimes over an hour to buy. Got a Rockhill farms in Milton-Freewater about a month ago for $65
@@bassmanaustin LOL, I used to hunt upland game birds in the 70's, 80's and 90's in Hermiston. Butter Creek Chuckers and more. Grew up playing McNary golf course Umatilla.
You paid 110 for wlw.
In California, if you can find it, it's no less than 900
Southern star paragon cask strength is like 107 that isn’t watered down, you heard it here first
Hi,
Any plans on doing another Brewzel barrel pick?
Yup! Join the Discord or email list for updates. Both of those are in the description.
Weller antique
I have to agree the 107 weller is a very smooth and drinkable bourbon its one of my go to if i can find it
I tried Antique 107 and thought it was incredibly mid
Can I come over?
I'm American and I can't live without Johnnie Walker
So we just gonna ignore your wife snickering at "purple tops" and desperately trying to hide it? 😂😂😂😂 Chirldish
Taylor or Blanton when buddies are around
Wheres the Jack 12?
What is that Barrell? You never said the blend. You just said we couldn't get it.
I’m a full simp for BT idc 😂
Heaven Hills 6 year
EHT
Vanwinkle 12 year lot B is better than the other pappys …IMO
Costco Whiskey : Blanton's Single Barrel $46.99 wheelchair larry
so far the wild turkey and the weller are a no go for me
WLWeler
No Elijah Craig Barrel Proof? Shame on you!
$110 ? Ahahahhhahah
Dear God.... Way to buy into the hype.
I'm pretty sure you can live without whiskey.
You’re no fun
@@joshl1387 hee hee, u get me a couple shots of Rabbit Hole Bourbon with a can of Moxie soda, and I'm no longer yelling at the kids to get off my lawn. :)
@@tspin9983 Now that’s more like it! Happy Friday 😎
@@joshl1387 ty...oh now I want that combo.
You COULD live without whiskey but it’d be one dull ass life. Level up!
I’m sorry but brewzle is a bit too much of a BT simp
For liking something?
Might be me, there are points in this where I just wish he’d STFU. Downing 4 20 oz mugs of high octane caffeine (like 4hr old Mini-Mart coffee with 5 Tblspoons of Folgers instant in the bottom of the mug) doesn’t help. Having a word counter going to help him calc his $0.05/word revenue is borderline annoying AF. And trying to get her involved, only to have her looking at him and rolling her eyes doesn’t help. Tips on good liquor is why there’s an audience. 12 words/sec delivery like a Covington 3rd owner used car salesman, meh.
