    I think it can look like you ripped the photos from Google, or they are just stock images, which makes it look like that's not the actual product photo.

    • @ecthree
      @ecthree Před 28 dny +2

      Yeah that's the worry bc if it looks too good it's probably just shitty and they're trying to make it look better

      This is what I always look for. If the photos are too good it just looks like one from the manufacturer or retailer. Better to keep the crappy so they are "actual photos" of the products. Then people know for sure that they are getting what's in the photo.

      Exactly what I was gonna say. If I see an image like that, first thing I think will be (as you said) a ripped photo. Take the bike images. I would have followed the basic guidelines (look at Seth from Berm Peaks video) on how to photograph a bike, but I would have made sure it still looked authentic.

    Well I'm not surprised. I think most people who look for stuff on Facebook Marketplace look for really good deals, and often, listings with "normal" photos are made by people who don't know the real value of the items they're selling while listings with really good photos are usually made by people who know the real value very well. Also, if people take the time to take really good photos, that means they're fine with waiting just a bit longer to get more money for their item. So you're much more likely to find good deals on listings with bad photos.

    • @ecthree
      @ecthree Před 28 dny +4

      Yeah and like if I see really good photos on something like Facebook Marketplace they'll look too much like the actual product photos for me to trust them tbh

    • @JonasPetri
      @JonasPetri Před 28 dny +1

      @@ecthree Exactly, half of them are just plain scams

  • @HippoCrisis
    @HippoCrisis Před 29 dny +17

    I guess if you take the photo in your back yard then the picture looks more like the seller is a normal person who owns the actual item and it is also an accurate photo of the thing for sale. The cool photos could be official product photos and being used to hide that the real one is much more beat up, or raise suspicion that the seller doesn't have it to begin with.

    Brother keep making these long videos as well. Your shorts are so underrated but still get good views. If you can get the same traction on these long videos, you are set for a great run. Keep up the great work man. Always fun to watch your content.

    If I saw professional photos on facebook marketplace I would think it is a scam personally. So it doesn't surprise me that the normal photos sold better. Anyway this was a pretty insightful experiment nevertheless. Well edited and nice video👍

    I think people usually want to know that the picture is not from google of the product so it needs to look "normal"
    but good job man 0:

  • @zupergurkan
    @zupergurkan Před 28 dny +1

    I suspected it would turn out like that. I think if I saw a photo that looked to professional I'd think it's a scam or that the product you're selling might be the same thing, but not the same quality.

    Yeah not really surprised the normal ones did more well. If you search for camera gear like lenses or body's, all pictures there are professionally taken, kinda funny to see how much that differs to normal products.

  • @JPBob
    @JPBob Před 28 dny

    The danger of improving the photos is making the buyer feel like you pulled it out of the product website and the actual product actually looks completely different.

    Otherwise i guess that lesson learn is that people prefer ordinary photo for marketplace 🤔

  • @MrNobodyX3
    @MrNobodyX3 Před 28 dny

    My assumption is Facebook marketplace is more of a garage sale type of environment so the more professional and corporatized you look the less people are willing to trust you

  • @user-ThatRandomEditor3

    Probably cause there so good they think you just got the photo from the internet

  • @user-uy7zh4ez7i
    @user-uy7zh4ez7i Před 16 dny

    marketplace hunters/buyers look for actual photos. People want to see the actual product and not the photos that looks like it came from a catalogue. Catalogue photos are for professional websites.
