After a 12 hour day at work, there's nothimg like Bill singing softly and talking about dogs frolicking in falling leaves to make me smile.
The " I love you " in the end made my day
He set the standard for us all. I taught this technique for many years. He simply was and is still, the best. A great artist, and a wonderful human being.

I first discovered Bill's work in 1975 (through Walter T Forster's Publications). I was already an artist then and living in New Zealand and was painting the lovely scenery of the South Island. I tried the "Magic" painting style that Bill brought into the world and started painting my New Zealand scenes in that style. The manager of the art gallery that I sold my work through in Auckland was really impressed and so from then on, all my work followed Bill's brilliant style. I owe him a great deal! until they came
and they really gave me the blame

and make planks out of me
make chairs and house
and pretty things out of me
but still you dont love me
and I cant be free
from this ground you see
and some one made a door out of me
I was a hippy tree
but not any more
since i became a door
open and close for you
and keep you safe
just as I said i would
when you were under me
Woah, that got a little dark there for a second there until you got to the end when the tree keeps you safe, as it said it would.... So, it's still a happy ending...

is there a way to make my own liquid white?
It's basically a 50/50 mix of Titanium White and safflower oil. You can use linseed oil, but it yellows over time more than safflower oil. You also don't want it to be too shiny, so maybe use a little less oil than paint. It should dry to a matte finish. If you use too much oil, it'll dry pretty shiny.
