    Why couldn't my art teachers in college relate this way to those of us learning from them. Bill was simply brilliant as an art teacher. He also taught life lessons at the same time. I so wish I could have met bill in my early years.

    To be honest, without Bob i would have never dicoverd Bill. That´s a bit sad, because here in Austria we only had Bob on TV! I´m not huge fan of most things the internet brought to us, but CZcams is very good in some way. And now i already like Bill a bit more than Bob. For my taste he is a way better painter (Not that Bob is bad!!!) and his charakter seems to be so true and not played like Bob Ross for sure did a bit ;-) But both where beyond great artists and teachers! (I hope my english is not to bad... ;-) )

    As an artist Bill Alexander was infinitely more talented than his plagiarist student Bob Ross.. Bills art speaks to my soul, Bobs paintings were more like cartoon backdrops to me..

    • @westoftherockies
      @westoftherockies Před 7 měsíci

      bob didn't plagiarize bill...it wasn't bill's technique, people have been painting that way for hundreds of years, and bob's popularity had nothing to do with painting...people watched bob to relax and de stress, bob was unique...bill was a better painter but he was loud, agressive, intense...total oppsite of bob ross....bob could of had a cooking show or a woodworking show and been just as popular.

    • @seeburgm100a

      @@westoftherockies alla prima was around for 100s of years but NOT Bill's use of his magic white to mix directly on the canvas. Bill with the help of a Canadian chemist created magic white. Bob stole it, as he did with Bill's patented pallette knife.

      @@Man-jf6lz Welllll, it IS a business, and sadly for Bill, Bob was the better package for the producers and viewers of mainstream public television. (Bob used to joke about his "mean director"... no director I know would have let Bill let fly with his off-the-wall "rant" about abstract art in his broken English.) An Unfortunate S(h)ituation? Yeah -- but at least those who appreciate either artist (or both) can have the benefit of their expertise. RIP Bill AND Bob.

      ac5015 I agree, but Bob really hurt and then pissed Alexander off. Bill told us that he did Not invent wet on wet...it was created in the 16th century by the masters. He’s just using today’s cheap and easily accessed materials. Bob just wanted to steal Bill’s thunder. Did u know that Bob also stole some of Bills vernacular? “Happy happy clouds” etc.
