When I got married I bought my dress 👗 for $75,00 bucks my husband bought his suit for $100. Are church dosen't charge for the ceremony or the building for the reception. And we spent $500 on food, and that was it for the wedding 💍💒 So it just depends on the church you go to. So I agree with Katie,it doesn't have to be expensive at all. I couldn't spend the money 💰.

Just like I don't think celebrities owe anyone anything if they don't want to. I am so happy for you and your family and honestly it gives me couple's goals. As far as my wishes for the new year, I have had some serious health issues the last several years and within the past 4 years I lost my parents, brother, and beloved pup. I wish for complete healing or at least some sort of normalcy in my life and to experience joys again. I'm getting there. I've worked hard to find my way again and become strong mentally and physically. I've learned to live in the positive and count my blessings every day. I have supportive and kind friends and a wonderful son and hobbies I like to do. Just trying to live my life dealing with things as they come with some humor and grace. Congratulations on the "official" announcement! So happy for you, Brian and Brynn! I've been married 19 years, have 2 boys and we are working parents. In my adulthood so to speak, i have always said marriage is over-rated...once you find your person, do what makes you happy! Doesn't matter the timing, just do life with your person! For us, our goal was to have the budget wedding, buy a house and then start a family 🙂. We did all of that, faced pregnancy issues along the way, had 2 rainbow babies...and now in this season of life enjoying what we've accomplished and raising our kids. It's really a matter of personal preference - but if you wanted - you could go to a trusted jeweler and have rings fused together - again - a personal preference - but not sure if you had that as an option - my two rings always rotated different ways and I was constantly straightening them. I'm in Vegas and my husband and I often say we should've just got married at the court house when we got our license. It’s funny how things just happen for a reason. I started dating in 2008, had our daughter in 2010, got engaged in 2013, had our son in 2014, got married in 2017, bought our first house together in 2018 and have been together ever since. Obviously we did everything out of order. We got married on our lunch break one afternoon at the court house and had our friends with us as witnesses. We didn’t even go to lunch with each other after. lol. Just said see you at home after work. 😊 I love your story. Congratulations!!

As someone who got married with a big (felt big but it was 115 or so) wedding I completely understand why people don’t. I also understand why people don’t change their last names. It took me months to change my name but my passport was the hardest part. Credit cards were the easiest which was a little alarming lol. The process of a wedding was extremely stressful for me and I told my husband multiple times I’d never do it again 😅. I’m so unbelievably in love with him and so grateful we got married. When the day came I felt so calm and happy. I knew the planning was done and I could finally just be married with the love of my life. On a different note I think your wedding and engagement sound absolutely beautiful 😍. I love the idea of making it all about your love. I’m a new-ish subscriber and I love your content ❤

Big weddings are wonderful, but expensive. I am 64 and when we got engaged we were broke babies age 20. We decided to get married sooner than we would be able to save for a wedding and my practical husband said he'd rather be married to me and spend the money on our life than wait so long to save up for the wedding. Now we were not living together so we were desperate to be together and married so that also played a part. We had a small wedding and I thought down the road when we have more money we could do a vow renewal and have the big reception then, but over there years I didn't even think about that or want it..We do not have a large family like you and are not real close to the small one we have (unfortunately ) so I'm sure that played a part in our decision but anyway you are very smart in my opinion and i just wanted to tell you my story. We will celebrate 44 years of marriage in April! God bless you and I love your channel! I am pretty sure I am not your usual audience but I like to think I'm young in my mind and heart.

We did a quite small wedding, exactly because it is just way to expensive. One often does a feast for everyone but yourself! I totally agree with you that everyone should do what works for them. Personally, I did things backwards myself. We dated, moved in together, had 2 kids, bought a house, got married, then had 3 more kids after. What’s important is you and your family. Not what others think is the “right” way. I can’t believe Brynn will be 1yr soon. My daughter will be 16 in May and her theme is similar to what you are doing for Brynn. She wanted an enchanted butterfly garden sweet 16. Her dress is purple (her favorite color) and she loves butterflies. The irony is that she was diagnosed with Lupus in June 2020. Purple is the ribbon color, and the symbol is a butterfly. May is also lupus awareness month. She is our only girl, and doesn’t ask for much. So we’ve been hard at work planning her special day. She’s had many ups and downs health wise, but she is strong and thank God doing a lot better.

Just like I don't think celebrities owe anyone anything if they don't want to. I am so happy for you and your family and honestly it gives me couple's goals. As far as my wishes for the new year, I have had some serious health issues the last several years and within the past 4 years I lost my parents, brother, and beloved pup. I wish for complete healing or at least some sort of normalcy in my life and to experience joys again. I'm getting there. I've worked hard to find my way again and become strong mentally and physically. I've learned to live in the positive and count my blessings every day. I have supportive and kind friends and a wonderful son and hobbies I like to do. Just trying to live my life dealing with things as they come with some humor and grace. Congratulations on the "official" announcement! So happy for you, Brian and Brynn! I've been married 19 years, have 2 boys and we are working parents. In my adulthood so to speak, i have always said marriage is over-rated...once you find your person, do what makes you happy! Doesn't matter the timing, just do life with your person! For us, our goal was to have the budget wedding, buy a house and then start a family 🙂. We did all of that, faced pregnancy issues along the way, had 2 rainbow babies...and now in this season of life enjoying what we've accomplished and raising our kids. It's really a matter of personal preference - but if you wanted - you could go to a trusted jeweler and have rings fused together - again - a personal preference - but not sure if you had that as an option - my two rings always rotated different ways and I was constantly straightening them. I'm in Vegas and my husband and I often say we should've just got married at the court house when we got our license. It’s funny how things just happen for a reason. I started dating in 2008, had our daughter in 2010, got engaged in 2013, had our son in 2014, got married in 2017, bought our first house together in 2018 and have been together ever since. Obviously we did everything out of order. We got married on our lunch break one afternoon at the court house and had our friends with us as witnesses. We didn’t even go to lunch with each other after. lol. Just said see you at home after work. 😊 I love your story. Congratulations!!

As someone who got married with a big (felt big but it was 115 or so) wedding I completely understand why people don’t. I also understand why people don’t change their last names. It took me months to change my name but my passport was the hardest part. Credit cards were the easiest which was a little alarming lol. The process of a wedding was extremely stressful for me and I told my husband multiple times I’d never do it again 😅. I’m so unbelievably in love with him and so grateful we got married. When the day came I felt so calm and happy. I knew the planning was done and I could finally just be married with the love of my life.
On a different note I think your wedding and engagement sound absolutely beautiful 😍. I love the idea of making it all about your love. I’m a new-ish subscriber and I love your content ❤

Big weddings are wonderful, but expensive. I am 64 and when we got engaged we were broke babies age 20. We decided to get married sooner than we would be able to save for a wedding and my practical husband said he'd rather be married to me and spend the money on our life than wait so long to save up for the wedding. Now we were not living together so we were desperate to be together and married so that also played a part. We had a small wedding and I thought down the road when we have more money we could do a vow renewal and have the big reception then, but over there years I didn't even think about that or want it..We do not have a large family like you and are not real close to the small one we have (unfortunately ) so I'm sure that played a part in our decision but anyway you are very smart in my opinion and i just wanted to tell you my story. We will celebrate 44 years of marriage in April! God bless you and I love your channel! I am pretty sure I am not your usual audience but I like to think I'm young in my mind and heart.

Dear Katie, I've been rather a silent viewer, but now want to congratulate you with everything that happened in your life! The order it is happening should matter only to you guys. We did a quite small wedding, exactly because it is just way to expensive. One often does a feast for everyone but yourself! There is nothing more important than a healthy relationship and healthy children - and a great home for them to live in! don't take much of the comments personally. People have different opinions, some people are just always unhappy and negative no matter what they own and try to provoke you for a reaction - well you decide if you let them. you are such a vibrant personality, and building up your own thing from zero is not an easy task. all the best wishes to you in 2024!

I can’t believe Brynn will be 1yr soon. My daughter will be 16 in
May and her theme is similar to what you are doing for Brynn. She wanted an enchanted butterfly garden sweet 16. Her dress is purple (her favorite color) and she loves butterflies.
The irony is that she was diagnosed with
Lupus in June 2020. Purple is the ribbon color, and the symbol is a butterfly. May is also lupus awareness month.
She is our only girl, and doesn’t ask for much. So we’ve been hard at work planning her special day. She’s had many ups and downs health wise, but she is strong and thank God doing a lot better.
