I'm a bit shocked a company like Toyota made such a glaring mistake like that.
Could the journal be tapered ? To force the cam to walk in the engine rather then walk out ?
I don't think they are. The other camshaft is not like that.
@maxsinventions8913 maybe oil contamination or starvation ... I couldn't really tell how that journal was ... something to consider is when the engine was being assembled maybe the cam was dropped and curled the flange in a bit ..
