  • There is no better feeling then watching a 400lb pig devour a stockpile of forage in these forests! What a beautiful thing it is to be a homesteader. My appreciation for these beautiful animals continues to grow as we walk this life.

    I always think of goats for clearing undergrowth not pigs. Also learned that pigs don't root so much when they have minerals. Rosy and bacon are adorable, I would give bacon the full name: Crisp P Bacon Lol!

    Zach you have no idea how much joy it brings me to see little Marigold! She’s such a healthy, cute little piglet. I’m looking forward to seeing if she’s as good a mother as Delilah. Give her a pat for me. You are making such a good, kind farmer. Much love to you and your beautiful wife.❤❤❤

    Great video of putting the pigs out to pasture. They looked very happy and content to be out in nature again.

    Thanks for sharing another great video! I'm late watching today as I was out in the woods enjoying nature earlier when this came out so I was watching the ballet of deer dancing all around me during that time. Finally after 7days straight with rainy mess no rain so had to take advantage of the beautiful weather.

    Is there ever a time when a pig doesn't want to eat? In other words, are they ever full and refuse more food?

    • @ThePasturedHomestead
      @ThePasturedHomestead  Před rokem

      If I left an unlimited amount of grain for them they would pace themselves and eat when they need to. We want them eating more greens so we give them an unlimited amount of pasture or forest and then we feed each pig 1.5lbs of grain a day.

    Your videos keep getting better and better! Great job. I could watch a 24/7 nanny cam pointed at all of your animals. I just love farm animals, actually all animals. We have Kensington park in Milford, MI 5 miles down the road from our subdivision. It’s a gorgeous park. They have a cute little farm in the park. Sadly, they took all of the farm animals out. :( their horses were SO fun to watch. … actually the may have brought their goats back, I’ll have to head out there now that spring has FINALLY sprung in MI. Welcome to the Midwest. Ya just never know what the weather will be.

      That’s how I feel too! Especially when the piglets were born I felt like I could sit out there for hours just watching them. I hope they bring the animals back to that park!

      @@ashlyn.thepasturedhomestead if you two decide to have children, wait until you give birth. I kid you not, I became a completely different person. I honestly could not take my eyes off of my baby girl for months. I had no interest in TV anymore. I would sit and hold her and just gaze upon her for hours. Not much got done.. lol
