    born and raised in Holland, MI. I've known Del since i was a kid, have bought most of my guitars from his store, sad to see it gone, he does still do some fantastic guitar repair, had the honor of playing the last guitar he ever made, he was picking out sandman in his tool shed with it just this past summer.

    That looks like Merle's old D-28 with the Bigsby neck that Tommy's playing. I've seen a photo of Doc Watson playing that guitar.

    To me best guitar pickers in the world still alive today before that it was Chet and Merle. These 2 should re record the album Atkins and Travis did.

    Вот есть такое поверье у музыкантов, что за одну жизнь так не возможно научиться играть. К Томми Эммануэлю это поверье как нельзя лучше относится. Так хочешь - не хочешь поверишь в карму.

    Yeah, so for whatever stupid reason I didn't know that Thom was Merle's son until a few months ago, don't laugh...oh O.K laugh. So I punched myself in the goonads, and it hurt, not gonna lie...Not the nads, the fact I didn't realize about Thom. Well, I'm a head banger at heart so please forgive me, but I sure do love those guys. And Jerry Reed, and Chet...R.I.P

    I like Tommy better as a jazz player; on this kind of music I find him too fast and flashy, and he loses the rhythmic groove.

      @robertopino7250 Před 6 lety +4

      You gotta be kiddin, he's just a terrific groove...no matter what he plays. By the way he's not much of a jazz player, if you think of jazz as a style of course. But his approach is definetely jazzy and that's what makes his fingerepickin special.

    • @cocolossal69
      @cocolossal69 Před 2 lety

      Tommy has a great rhythmic groove. What the heck are you on about? And flashy? I prefer entertaining and exuberant. He's out there showing people a good time. Why does that bother people so much?
