OK so you’re confusing me. You are using the zipper foot as a topstitch foot instead of showing us how to use them to actually install the zipper
The left and right compensating feet are best used for topstitching not necessarily installing a zipper. But then you were just doing topstitching with the left compensating foot.
I think I use the left more than I use the right
I have the one quarter inch, the 1/8 inch, and the 1/16 inch

I was wondering about this also. Zipper feet are specifically made to install zippers. And with the trendy zippers with wider tape/edgings, the zippers can be installed with the basic TL foot. I agree with you. Left compensating foot is the best for a clean topstitch.

HI! Zipper feet are very skinny. Using something like an 1/8th or 1/16th inch is not a secure stitch for assembling the zipper. Plus some of these fit are way too skinny for assembly. You'll notice when you see them our on website, Juki takes pictures of them on the TOP. They do not offer enough stabilization being so skinny. You should be using a more stable foot like the 1/4" feet to install them then use the skinnier ones to do that final stitch out. I think I'm going to make a separate video addressing this confusion :)

@@JukiJunkies yes please do make another video because I don’t use the 1/8 inch or the one 16th inch compensating foot to install a zipper
That’s not what my message said
I said those feet are designed for topstitching not installing a zipper

Zipper feet are skinny so that you can stitch close to the zippers teeth when installing the zipper. The seam allowance can be as wide as 5/8” in clothing applications. Not trying to stir the pot. I think this new zipper/topstitch foot came about because zippers now have such wide trims that the installation can be done with a generic foot.

@@themonogrammom well luckily I have a variety of feet so if one doesn’t work, I can try something else 🤣

Another great video, thanks! I am near the garment district in NY and have access to a range of generic industrial sewing machine feet including all the ones you featured. Will the TL machines take generic industrial feet? They are well made and economical compared to Juki-branded feet.

I just got my first Juki. The only complaint I have is the cost of the additional feet.

Love video. If I understand correctly, does all the zipper feet fit all TL sewing machines? ❤ Thanks

I thought the zipper foot demo would show how to insert a zipper. Your zipper was already sewn in the seams. You gave a top stitch demo using a zipper foot.
I would appreciate how to put a zipper in a dress using the feet.
    Love my TL 18.

She always talks fast, but not as fast as Vanessa from the crafty Gemini. You can always follow along in the transcript, or you can go into settings and change the playback speed to be a little slower.

If you select the gear icon ⚙️ in the video, you can slow down the play back speed.
