Theres only really dailies and reputation events.
Semiweekly Invasion and Boss Resets.
Otherwise explore, challenge, conquer (pvp) collect (explore) or achieve(ments)

Imo core nodes are only good if you gear has a lot of +% chance for echo recharge. Otherwise main stats is better

Yeah you’re probably right especially before you get 100/100. Main stat is different for pve and pvp too !
