    Excellent book review. I love Wendy Bernard. I am considering adding Gansey book to my resources.

    Thankyou for you review, I have a couple of the books, but apart from the 750 stitch dictionary, I rarely use them🙄 I may look into a couple of those you reviewed.
    Due to illness, I've only just caught up with your few vlogs and podcasts. I'm totally happy to let the adverts run before and after the vlogs and podcasts, as I think it's the least I can do, to help you, however on your last podcast there was 5, adverts, which is so frustrating, there was also some in these vlogs. I saw you said you'd sorted it out, to a lady, but today it still had 5 for me. I'm not sure if anyone else is getting that many, but I do find myself skipping them, which I feel bad about. 😊 💕

      I did review the ad's that youtube automatically placed and it shouldn't be more than a few on each video ... but equally don't feel bad about skipping them

    U know i wish that there is that one book that has every thing I don’t like the idea of having endless books about one subject

    You appear to be more of a to be more of a process knitter, than a project knitter from your book selections. Thank you for the book reviews.

    • @KnittingExpat
      @KnittingExpat  Před 4 lety

      haha that's interesting as I find myself to be more of a product knitter although I of course enjoy the process too! but as a designer of knitting patterns I don't tend to buy or have too many pattern books on my shelf and those that I do have I rarely look at.

    Can you explain the difference in knitter's handy book of sweater patterns vs knitter's handy book of top down sweaters both from Ann Budd? Thank you so much!!! Amazing information here! Love from MN❤️

      I only have the one book so i can't help there

      @sherrypelkey2453 Před 3 lety +2

      I have both books. The Handy sweater patterns include drop shoulder, modified drop shoulder, saddle shoulder, etc. Most are bottom up construction. The top down book has top down construction for raglan, round yoke, etc. Both are great books.

      @@sherrypelkey2453 thank you SO MUCH!!! I’ve been to literally every store that sells books (new or used) and cannot find the one I don’t have in order to see if I need it. And I was not trying to buy it online because then you can’t return it if it isn’t what you thought. I am a top down sweater knitter so I think I got the right book the first time around😉 Granted, I have MANY knitting books… lol. Ann Budd really did such an amazing job with these two!

    Mina thanks for the great information. How do you handle copyright in your patterns? I’m designing socks and getting to the slip stitch heel flap instructions and it seems like a common thing. But I don’t want to infringe on copyright. Also stitch patterns…when writing and publishing a pattern how do you make sure you are not in violation? Thanks!

    • @KnittingExpat
      @KnittingExpat  Před 3 lety +1

      I developed my own heel method so I use that for my patterns and can't really help with that. I think designers of stitch dictionaries realise they will be used for patterns etc and you will often find different stitch dictionaries will have overlaps with similar or the same stitches in multiple books. Ultimately as long as you are not directly copying another pattern then its usually fine. I've not had any issues so far
