    I’ve owned 4 of these since 2014. Over 200k trouble free, worry free miles! All were 4x4 and conquered Ohio winters with ease. Got 26 city/32 hwy mpg. The 2.0 is adequate and the 2.4 was really good! Nexan tires are fair at best. Replaced mine with Michelin and another with Sumitomo’s and WOW, what a difference! Ride, handling and mileage all improved noticeably. Never paid more than $23k out the door. May not be the fanciest and not overly laden with technology, but that’s the way I like my cars. Change oil every 4K miles and make sure to do the 30k mile servicing without fail, and these cars will last a very long time. Highly recommend !

      30k mile CVT fluid changes and your good. I recommend full synthetic 0W-20 changes every 7500 miles.

      thank you for your info. I've been thinking of going for one of these if I can swing the payment. just not sure the 2.0 will have enough to move this along. the 2.0 in my Elantra has the same hp and its not enough. I'd try for the 2.4.

      @joeb2588 I have the 2020 Outlander Sport B.E. I bought it in 2020 and thankfully only have 12k miles on it....sadly the 0-60 on the 2.0 and G.T is a sad 8.5 sec. I am debating on finding a custom shop that could install a turbo kit cuz 9 seconds to get to 60 mph is dangerous when trying to merge into highway traffic especially with the nuts going fast on the slow/merge lane

    These are fantastic vehicles. Engineered and built in Japan, which is not always the case with Japanese vehicles sold in the USA. My mother bought a new 2015 Outlander Sport GT. It's been super dependable for the last 6yrs/55k miles. Only issue has been it needing a new gas cap. Then my father bought a new 2019 Outlander Sport ES. 3yrs later and he's still very happy with it. Zero issues. So when people complain that the Outlander Sport is an old design, I see that as a positive quality. It means Mitsubishi has had more time to work out the defects. The reliability track record of this model proves that. Factor in the excellent warranty. You can't go wrong with this vehicle. Sure there are CUVs out there that have a nicer interior, more features, more power, better MPG, etc etc, but this is the most well-rounded vehicle in my opinion and the best value for your money.

    Got the 2020 model. It's funny how here in Germany everyone thinks it looks premium when it's cheaper than a Golf.

    Great review, I personally think that even though these have been on the market for 10 years they are still a great alternative. I’d choose a Outlander Sport over alot of the newer offerings from other companies I think they look great

    You do a nice job on these reviews. The way you describe the driving experience makes it seem like we're in the vehicle with you. I tested an Outlander Sport (RVR in Canada) and enjoyed the drive very much. I'm looking forward to the redesign after 2022. Keep your channel growing!

    Just putting this out there, but for people who are going to change the engine air filter on their own, I recommend buying the OEM air filter when replacing, as when I bought a air filter like FRAM (this includes other aftermarket branded air filters) from a local auto parts store it does not have the same type of small indents and curvatures as the OEM air filter in addition to it being a some what difficult job to do on these RVR’S/OUTLANDER SPORT’S/ASX’S. Let’s just say I had a really great fun time totally like great fun time hell yeah was so fun spent an hour like holy wow wow wow wow 😅 😡

  • @mykeonthemove
    @mykeonthemove Před 2 lety +1

    I like the Outlander Sport. Mitsubishi needs to work on the interior. I’m going to wait to see what Mitsubishi does by 2024. The CVT needs to be configured for 8 speed gear ratio. Put the Outlander’s interior in the Sport , add a moonroof option on the LE and GT and I think Mitsubishi will have a winner. Outlander Sport looks rugged and ready; moreso than the competition.

    I'm really wanting to pick up a Mitsubishi for a second family vehicle because of the price point. I just hate CVT transmissions, by design they wont hold up as long as a properly maintained traditional automatic.

    • @WTFCRLT1
      @WTFCRLT1  Před 3 lety +3

      I gotcha man but with proper maintenance and fluid changes, you should still get over 100k miles out of this cvt so given the price point, I’d still consider it an overall bargain. Thanks for the comment!

      The CVT in this vehicle will go way past 100000 miles if you do the fluid change every 30 thousand miles. My brother has 260000 on his 2015

    • @kylemas2005
      @kylemas2005 Před 2 lety +2

      @W.T.F Car Reviews Well over 100k miles brother with CVT fluid changes. The Sport has demonstrated this over the years. Mitsubishi and Suzuki utilize JATCO CVTs much better than Nissan. Lower end torque and INVECS III CVT programming is key.

      @palebeachbum Před 2 lety +1

      Not all traditional geared automatics are great. I bought a new 2018 Hyundai Elantra in part because it had a 6-spd automatic instead of a CVT, but the transmission was very problematic. Erratic and hard shifting issues.

    Front turn indicators incandescent & I know this. Rear turns are...(?) ..you didn't say. For the rated horsepower on GT, this should get to 60mph in well under 8 seconds. I drive a 2019 Blazer V6 FWD 2LT weighing approx 3,450 lbs.. 0-60 in 5.9 seconds all day long!

    • @kylemas2005
      @kylemas2005 Před 2 lety

      Blazer is a great looking ride, my sister has one and loves it. 0 to 60 time doesn't mean that much though if the buyer is all about buying cheap and having good fuel economy. My Mirage is 78HP and I stay with traffic just fine, freeway or city streets. Outlander Sport isn't as nice as a Blazer but it's cheap, reliable, and it's been around along time, I like that, it means it's proven with all kinks ironed out.

    • @kylemas2005
      @kylemas2005 Před 2 lety +2

      Mitsubishi spec version of the JATCO CVT8 has demonstrated much better reliability over the years vs Nissan. Mitsu has stressed checking your CVT fluid for years, with a built in dipstick. Nissan, for years, said it was lifetime fluid and didn't even include a dipstick to check fluid degradation. You'd be in good shape with a Mitsu amigo but be aware their parts prices are expensive.

    • @palebeachbum
      @palebeachbum Před 2 lety +1

      @@kylemas2005 So true. My first new car was a 2012 Nissan Versa sedan. The CVT had no dipstick. I took it to the dealership for its 30k mile fluid change. They checked the fluid quality by hooking it up to a computer. Weird, but that's how they do it, apparently. They told me the fluid was still clean and it didn't need to be changed until 50k. At 38k miles the CVT started slipping. I was really upset at Nissan, since it was their bad recommendation, not my maintenance neglect. I traded it for a new 2014 Mitsubishi Mirage, not realizing it is a variation of the same CVT. I do like that it has a transmission dipstick. Before the car was totaled in an accident, I managed to put 56k miles on it with no CVT slippage while doing the exact same driving. The Mitsubishi CVT is definitely a better unit
