Today I'm taking you away from the tourist areas of Khaosan Road and Sukhumvit to Wongwian Yai in Bangkok for a 3 am Thai Street Food feast in the back alleys of Thonburi.
As the name suggests 1am Curry Rice ข้าวแกง ตี1opens at 1 am but that was far too early for me so I headed down at 3 am. By then the queues had gone and I was able to order without waiting.
I had Thai green curry, panang curry, tom kha gai, fishcakes and their signature crispy pork. All was fantastic and cost me 70 baht!

the best thing about thai community.... When you meet older people like uncles and aunties ....They often refer us with "luk" every time which means daughter or son in thai
That's right, also they call younger men/boys "sud lhor" that means handsome too🤣 I got called by this word all the time even I'm not close to "handsome"

I don’t know but a bit of a dark side is they would call you that to make you feel happier and buy their food (I’m thai)

No idea how good is your Thai but the way the shop owners were talking to you was so so lovely, it makes me smile.
His Thai is exceptional, and the auntie talked to him with quite almost normal pace
Why are they so friendly in the morning? Traditionally, Thailand was very much an early bird culture. You see this in the countryside where people go to sleep when the sun sets and wake up at 4am to cook. When your circadian rhythm is like that, you naturally have energy in the early hours. I'm like that naturally as well.

I'll start with the fact that you answered 1 of my questions while watching this video.
I wondered if you were a Chef or not from your past.
Your ability to name herbs or vegetables etc from taste just blows my mind.
I envy what you enjoy about Thai food.
I love Thailand, the people, the culture and the food.
But I am not in a position to enjoy the way that you do.
I lost my senses of taste and smell when I was 18.
Head accident trauma.
Such is life.
I started visiting Thailand in 2013.
Many visits for 6 years straight and I loved the food.
But for me it's all about visual and spiciness.
So to be coerced to your channel by Paddy Doyle I think, but you popped up on my CZcams recommendations before i even watched Paddy.

To me when you visit back alleyways and try these foods I really appreciate your sharing of information.

I express my condolences to you.
But food doesn't have to use smell and taste.
In Thailand we also use appearance of food Cheap food costs
or the size of the food you eat, such as large shrimp or crabs
We can use these things to create happiness in our lives. instead of taste and smell
I think you can eat durian easily.
So I want you to try stir-fried shrimp with shrimp paste, fried eggs with acacia and shrimp paste chili paste.
It is a food with a strong smell from Thailand.

we have food 24hrs. It’s not risky in Bangkok (in living areas). You can wale up in the middle of the night and think ‘hell yeah im hungry for 2A premium medium rare steak’ you still can find it 😂
He was in Bangkok so it is not really risky, around 1-5% of Bangkok people still awake and many of them love to travel around the city for late night foods or snacks (or party, XD).
It’s not really risky unless you’re rivals with some gang in Thailand. Still dangerous but most people don’t own guns because it’s illegal in Thailand.
You know you are in your 40s when you condiser 3am as 'early' rather than 'late'

Amazing Thailand, there is no food stall selling at 1-3 am in other counties and it is safe to walk in alleyway at night till very early morning.
I used to go down here after a night at KSR. The moo grob is the best I’ve tried
