  • This video compares the Takuma Kujira 1095 to other wings in the Kujira lineup such as the 1210, 980 and 750. Ridden with the stock 178 tail and another tail, the 1095 felt super agile with tons of speed and glide. I foil in the surf (prone foil) but it seems the foil could also be good for winging, downwind and SUP foil. The Kujira 1095 is a very user friendly wing and is a must have for any foiler. Connect more waves and turn harder with the Kujira 1095. Sorry I couldn't get any footage of me foiling with it yet. Check our other CZcams videos for prone foil action footage of us riding the Takuma Kujira 1095 foil wing coming soon.

    I'd love to try the Takuma Kujiras as a comparison. I also was inspired by the humpback whale flippers and then later by the TKs in my own designs. I know exactly what you mean about having a wing that gives you confidence to try new stuff on the waves because I startled myself, not with my wings that only had tubercles, but after my two first wings this year when I finally combined my newer design techniques as well, that allow me breach resilience and for a smaller wing to act like a bigger wing in a couple of more significant ways. These are exciting times for foilers, with new knowledge being applied to designs by those who spend the time on research and have the ability to CAD the wing models to fit their visions. I have a go-to size, a bigger one for light winds, de-moulded carbon for a small 765 sqcm 800mm span yesterday morning and tonight, I finally infused mould shells over an even faster version of my go-to 1145 wing in 3D printed model form, it will loose a little breach resilience but I'm anticipating it being pretty leading edge given how my other results are lining up with my design intents. It's hard to get perfect accuracy from model to wing with the warping I get in a PLA print and out of a non metal mould but it's certainly working for some great prototypes.

    Try a video with deals that top foilers are selling off. Me being a big guy at 92k and I think I could find used 1800-2200 foil that could last me through years.

    another awesome video! this or the Takuma Helium for pumping & sup foil?

      The 1095 is going to have a higher stall speed. Depending on the waves you’re riding and what pumping you’re doing the helium is great. Or perhaps you want to go with the 1210. It’s a great hybrid between those two options.

      The Heliums are white and made of fiberglass so slightly heavier than the unidirectional carbon fiber Kujiras. (Yes, the name is ironic ;).

    Is the Project Cedrus mast as stiff as aluminum for pumping? At 85kg I was told I need a stiffer mast for my pumping. Im looking to upgrade from my 1150 axis and its so hard to pick what to go with. Really thinking either the 1095 or 1210 or the axis 899 for the more surfy feel then the big 1150 slog. It's so hard to pick though.

      Cedrus mast is much stiffer. It’s built for exactly what you’re looking for

    What were the different back wings you used what were the differences most importantly which one pump the best?

      I use a 13” OnoFoil tail for all my foils. I do this to keep things consistent. The OnoFoil tails pump AMAZING. They also don’t sacrifice turning. That’s the tail I recommend right now.

    What length Cedrus (before assembly) are you ProneFoiling with?

    The right size of foils is in my experience also weight dependent. What do you weight?

    I am drooling. How would you compare to the 980 ( Which I love-love)?

      @thefoilshop6371  Před 2 lety +1

      I love it. I ride the 980 as well. The 1095 pumps, and the 980 doesn't. If you like the 980, the 1095 is a logical addition to the quiver. It will open doors for downwind and pumping where the 980 drops out.

      @@yes2cookies651 I love using the Cedrus. It's also great for comparing wings, because the mast stays consistent.
