Diana Krall: awesome as ever Claus Ogerman: as good as they get Videographer: amazing. No sickening affliction to center-spot every subject. This video: a delight for both ears and eyes.
Claus Ogerman... a real genius... his arrangements are unbelivables... This song simple wonderful... as its name. He has conducted for Sinatra and Jobim... a real monster
Legendary arranger Claus Ogerman was reactivated by special demand from Diana. He refused many requests by international Top Stars. After many years, Diana Krall convinced him to arrange two albums for her. Thanks for this, Diana! Ogerman arranged many albums by A. C. Jobim in the 60ies and 70ies, e.g. "Wave".
I fell asleep watching television and at midnight a jazz program came on. I woke up to this song, and I thought it was the most spectacular song I'd heard in many years. I never get tired of hearing this ensemble masterpiece. It's the defining highlight on the "Live in Paris" DVD.
In 2002 I saw this video while strolling through Circuit City stereo store. I was knocked out by it, and years later found the DVD. After studying it, I realized that Diana Krall had little to do with my reaction. It was and always has been about Claus Ogerman's arranging. With tears in my eyes as I listen to this magnificent music sixteen years later, Claus remains even more emotionally moving since I first heard his work in the 1960's with Joao Gilberto and Antonio Carlos Jobim. Pure genius.
@@georgefuller5426 Thank you for telling me about "Gate of Dreams". I would invite you to check out You-Tube video: Nan Swartz "Aspirations". A video of Nan (the arranger) with the Vienna Orchestra recording this, on her first Classical Music C.D. Nan is one of my favorite arrangers. She is a Grammy and Emmy winner. My other two favorite arrangers are Jorge Calandrelli, John Clayton and Billy Childs. Listen to Billy Child's arrangements on Dianne Reeves C.D. "Tribute to Sarah Vaughan", particularly "Send in the Clowns" on You-Tube. Or Natalie Cole "Here's That Rainy Day" arranged by Nan Swartz. Magnificent arranging !
Claus Ogerman is my fav…his arrangements are masterful…followed him for years….A.C. Jobim, Sinatra..G Benson, Gilberto and of course D Krall…absolutely the best.
Awesome work ! What a nice musical color ! Diana, you're so..... Claus Ogerman arrangements are wonderful. All is perfect , THANKS for this great musical moment.
This is the problem, to me, with Brazilian rhythms in English: there's too much monosyllabic words. Too much stressed points together. It does not flow like it should. Although, Diana still rocks it
Ogerman's arrangements -- honey, velvet, absinthe, heroin. A very felicitous accompaniment to Diana's particular vocal and piano personality.
Diana Krall: awesome as ever
Claus Ogerman: as good as they get

I love both of you! Great artists! Hello from Brazil!

I am fully persuaded that anything more beautiful than this is reserved for another realm.

El inconfundible toque de elegancia del Sr. Ogerman, convierte a cualquier pieza ya notable en algo superestelar!!!!!
"the look of love" and "quiet nights" are the most exquisite interpretation from Sir Ogerman (during his work with Diana Krall)
Claus Ogerman est un enchanteur et la voix de Diana Krall est délicieusement, subtilement maîtrisée et mise en valeur.
