True story... someone told me when I was a film student that they'd met Alan Rickman and gave him a copy of a short film that I'd made. About a month later I got a handwritten letter in the mail from Mr. Rickman telling me that he enjoyed my film. I was blown away that he did that.

But more so, today there have been a few things in my mind, mostly financial.
And I think videos like this or even reminders like this are so important to make us re-realize that every thing is frail really.
And the best we can do really is, cherish the beautiful experiences that surround us and make our life.
Because that's the only thing that you can ever really taste and never, ever get too much of
That's the only thing that leaves a lasting print, on us and on everything around us

At the Barbican Theatre gift shop in London, many years ago, i heard That Voice behind me, politely saying “ ‘Scuse me please” as he gently patted my shoulder. It was really crowded-“a frightful crush,” and he sauntered to the cashier. My friends were whispering What’s he buying ? I peered over and saw he was buying a handful of postcards-featuring himself! So i always thought he must be conceited ….only later I discovered that he was a genuine gentleman. Friends told me to never wash the jacket where he patted my shoulder.

Fantastic video. I was one of the people that grew up with Harry Potter and always knew just from Alan's acting that there was more to Snape. So I defended him almost religiously to my friends that were absolutely convinced Snape was 100% evil, and I was very pleased to see how the character developed, and even more pleased to see Alan bring it to such life on-screen. The day the news broke that he died was one of the saddest days for me. I will always be a huge fan of his. He was truly unique and the world is poorer for his loss.

It was always so easy to fall in love with his characters. He was easily recognized in each of them and yet none of them were the same. There are some I could name who always play themselves regardless of the role. It was fun the first time or two but soon becomes impossibly stale.

I first remember seeing him as Obadiah Slope in Barchester Towers. The character of Slope is such a slimy creep and Rickman owned the role. He acted the others of the screen. When Truly Madly Deeply came out I was reluctant to watch it as I could not believe that the actor that played Slope could be the love interest. Well was I wrong, I fell in love with him as an actor then and still feel the same. I was devastated when he died. The best actor of all in my opinion.
