- Revisiting The Abandoned Dennis General Store - Dennis, TX. A couple of years ago we stopped at this old donut shop that Kayla grew up getting donuts from courtesy of her grandfather. Unfortunately the store closed years ago and the building has continued to deteriorate since our initial video. Hope you enjoy.

Getting out of the truck with the hat 🤠 on was perfect. And the cleared area you mentioned was actually dug up recently to put in a drainage box. The area has a tendency to flood in heavy rain. So put it in during a drought. And the partner comment is just you practicing for moving down here. You know you want to. 😉

The lady that owns it is from Vietnam and she won't let anybody fix it up. Even know she's probably one of the hardest-working people ive ever met. The doughnut store was open for a year or two but the store was open for a lot of years.

Reminds me of the village shops in rural England, pretty much the main social place to sit outside of as a teenager, blast the awful music from the car and irrritate the whole village

My aunt worked in the Dennis store when i was a kid. The lady that owns it lives 1/4 mile down the street

The RANDALLS supermarket chain in Houston had a logo in the 80's which looked like a blue version of the old "white stripe" Coca-Cola logo, the logo seen on the Dennis sign here! Randalls ditched that logo in 1992, and created new logos (which were similar to one another, but the two had slightly different fonts from one another) for both Randalls and the Tom Thumb chain in Dallas which they had just recently acquired. Sadly SAFEWAY bought the combined Randalls/Tom Thumb company in 1999, and ruined both Texas chains! Tom Thumb still has many stores, but they are horrible, unlike in the 90's (under Randalls ownership) when Tom Thumb was the best grocer in Dallas! Randalls only has a small handful of stores today, which ironically are now owned by ALBERTSONS, considering Albertsons entered the Houston market in the 90's, but failed there... Safeway itself had stores in both Houston and Dallas decades ago, but left both cities in the late 80's (the Dallas stores were shuttered immediately, but the Houston stores were sold to a group of investors, being renamed APPLETREE, which only lasted five years before they went bankrupt and out of business anyway!) Also, the very first Randalls stores had originally been A&P stores, which were sold to Randalls in 1966 (Houston was the FIRST out of MANY cities all over America that A&P would withdraw from, over a period of 20 years, until about 1986!)

Google Street View drove by here in 2008, and there were still gas pumps out front at the time. It had obviously been closed for a very long time even by then, because it's overgrown with weeds in the Street View photos.

if you watch what the hale$ on youtube. you'd know his parents had a mom & pop grocey store in lorain ohio... just last week a married couple viewers find the sign that was on the building and gave it to him... its on his channel that was from three days ago thursday.... he talks mabout his parents grocey store all the time....
is that the new Ford Ranger? Nice! How does it compare to the F-150?
It rides nice. A little rough over bumps compared to the F150 buy it still rides nice and fuel mileage isn't too bad. I noticed the transmission kind of sputters just a little bit going up hill but nothing that noticble. I'm thinking it's normal as I've heard many people have complained about this. Interior is nice but with a full load of people it's definitely tighter inside the cabin vs the F150, obviously.
@@WallieB26 that's cool. I used to drive a 2008 Ranger until I wrecked it in a snowstorm in 2014. After that, I switched to the F150 which I prefer due to its roomy interior and power. Still, the new ranger does look cool...

@@WallieB26 next time u come this way u gotta make a stop in tulsa. We got an OG abandoned Taco bell, a kmart turned weed growing facility among other things. Much love from long time viewer. The promenade(southland mall) would definitely make for a good mall video. The place originally opened in 1965 as a shopping mall till it was converted in the early 80s after the mall next door(the southroads mall) closed. The Eastland metroplex is also a major stop. Plenty of places that'd make for good videos, tho head my warning when I say be careful if you do, some areas are rather dangerous .
I think cause you not really from Texas Wallie you like to soak it up lol your now wearing a cowboy hat then your going to wear some boots, you'll need a duster long coat wrangler shirt and hard denim jeans.🤠👖
